QUOTE
A song once described as "Eighties Boney M funk-pop" and "deliciously slutty", celebrate 10 years of Girls Aloud's crowning glory, 2005's 'Chemistry', with a previously unheard extended version of one of the albums highlights, 'Watch Me Go'.

I love how the first comment on Youtube is "never heard this before". Some people need to learn about stating the obvious.

That's not their official YouTube channel, and the song sounds like a fan-made mixture of the album version and the demo (which is not very well known, but that's where the alternate intro and the extra verse come from).

Never heard this before!

But yeah, you can tell it's a rough fan made thing thrown together.

It's okay, but much prefer the official album version, how in the hell this wasn't a single, especially over See The Day and Long Hot Summer, which have both aged rather badly, this would have been a better choice than Whole Lotta History, or at least as a double a-side with that single at least.

The single choices from Chemistry were a bit odd (Jay wrote an excellent post on a "fantasy Chemistry-era" here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=174164&view=findpost&p=4947658 ), but we can't ignore the circumstances.

Long Hot Summer wasn't really chosen as a single, they had an opportunity to do a song for a movie and took it. Funnily enough, it didn't end up in the movie or on its soundtrack album.

See The Day kept a "tradition" going of finishing 4 years in a row with releasing a cover single (Jump - I'll Stand By You - See The Day - I Think We're Alone Now). They didn't get too much support from radio - if I'm not mistaken, none of their singles between Sound Of The Underground and Something Kinda Ooooh were A-listed by Radio 1 -, and radio programmers are more likely to put a song on their playlist that might already be familiar to the audience.

As for Watch Me Go, I'm not entirely sure if it would have been appropriate for programmes like GMTV, CD:UK or Ministry Of Mayhem.
