S.P.I.R.I.T! SPIRIT, LET'S HEAR IT! biggrin.gif

The first single to be confirmed on the album (a new version of Drown came in too but at the time it wasn't for the album), and it was such an incredible era! I haven't listened to Happy Song as much as a lot of the others from That's The Spirit this year but loved it so much at the time, great to see it in here!

Happy Song is pretty good.
I remember when this hit the Top 40 of my old personal chart.

85. Thirty Seconds to Mars - Rescue Me

Thirty Seconds to Mars' latest album America was very devisive among fans, but I loved it, even if I probably would prefer a return to their rockier roots. But I thoroughly enjoyed the album and Rescue Me was one of my favourites - love the drop and Jared's vocals as always are amazing. I'd love to see them collaborate with someone like Marshmello - I think Jared would sound fantastic on one of his tracks.

84. The Magic Gang - How Can I Compete

Next up is an indie band who are getting bigger - their debut album managed to chart at #12 last year! This is my favourite from their debut, and probably in my top 20 indie tracks of all time. Love the chorus and I'm looking forward to their second album which we will hopefully hear the first tracks from later this year!

Even if half of the album was just songs taken from previously existing EPs, The Magic Gang's eponymous debut album still managed to be a good listen, and How Can I Compete was a great track from it. I also managed to get a CD copy of this album when it popped up in a charity shop that closed down after only a couple of months.

Giving How Can I Compete a listen now - sounding quite funky, reminding me of LCD Soundsystem a bit!

83. The Hunna - NY to LA

We return now with another song from The Hunna, another single from their latest album Dare. The Hunna have been announced for a lot of festivals this Summer, so if you're going to one with them at I highly reccomend seeing them!

82. LSD - Audio

Next up is my favourite of the songs LSD released last year, with a fantastic drop and all 3 names coming together works surprisingly well. I've liked all their releases so far and I'm looking forward to what they release next.

Audio is really good dance.gif It took a while to really grow on me (thus it’s awful chart run for me laugh.gif) but I prefer it to Genius by far now! Thunderclouds remains my fave from LSD and Mountains was a bit dull

Jared Leto + Marshmello would actually be a decent collab tbh, good call! laugh.gif A lot of tracks on their recent album could’ve been a Marshmello song if they had a bit more kick to it. Or just would have been easy pickings for Marshmello to remix

Yes that collab has got to happen! I like how in Happier you can still hear Bastille's instruments with Marshmello's electronic sound. 30STM has some great drumming (when they do have proper drums lol), so It'd be good to hear that.

81. Neck Deep - Torn

Next up is Neck Deep's cover of Natalie Imbruglia's cover of Ednaswap's Torn, recorded for the Songs That Saved My Life album (complete with music video recreation). There were lots of great covers, I particularly also liked As It Is' cover of The Postal Service's Such Great Heights.

I'm not too fussed about the original, but love this cover. Hopefully we get more new music from Neck Deep this year.

80. Maroon 5 ft. SZA - What Lovers Do

We finish the first 20 with a single from Maroon 5's latest album Red Pill Blues. Overall I enjoyed RPB, though it was very hit or miss. I particularly liked this track, Visions, Wait, Denim Jacket and Lips On You. I would prefer a return to their V sound for the next album, but I'd still be happy with their current sound (except for Girls Like You lol).

First 20:

80. Maroon 5 ft. SZA - What Lovers Do
81. Neck Deep - Torn
82. LSD - Audio
83. The Hunna - NY to LA
84. The Magic Gang - How Can I Compete
85. Thirty Seconds to Mars - Rescue Me
86. Bring Me the Horizon - Happy Song
87. Fall Out Boy - HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON'T
88. Pendulum - Propane Nightmares
89. Sum 41 - In Too Deep
90. The 1975 - I Couldn't Be More In Love
91. The Hunna - Flickin' Your Hair
92. Tom Grennan - Sober
93. Imagine Dragons - Cool Out
94. The 1975 - I Like America & America Likes Me
95. Waterparks - Not Warriors
96. Busted - Nineties
97. Don Broco - Come Out to LA
98. Sea Girls - All I Want to Hear You Say
99. Justin Timberlake ft. Chris Stapleton - Say Something
100. Easy Life - Nightmares

79. Example - Won't Go Quietly

After Example released the severely underrated The Answer last year, I went back to relisten to some of his older work and this one recaptured my interest all over again. Such a banger! Shame whoever sings the chorus isn't credited, as he really makes it for me!

Next up is one of my BJSC entries from last year...
