Chris don't shoot me!!!!! Putting this here as while it's sort of melody-half/punk-pop I don't really feel it first particularly well in the Pop forum with Cheryl Cole and Lady GaGa.
30 second clip. It's the lead single from the new Transformers film. |

Definitely sounds more like their first album material (coincidently their best) than the last two.

The clip certainly interests me, but as you say it's sounding more like their first album, and I think 'Brand New Eyes' is actually my favourite. Look forward to hearing the full thing, and I hope we get some new material later in the year (next album/lead single) other than just this.

I read somewhere that Hayley has said their won't be an album this year, but they will try to release some songs around the end of the year in an EP. Liking the sound of this, looking forward to the full song next week. |

Paramore is rock surely? Anyway, not fitting with my usual tastes but I LOVE Paramore! I agree with Jaack that BNE is probably their best, but Monster sounds good. I hope the new album is along the lines of BNE though.

Riot! is comfortably my favourite collection of songs, even though Brand New Eyes boasts far better production and sounds like the band wanted to sound.
This sounds like "Decode" by way of early material like "All We Know" and "Hello, Hello" - I like, a lot. |

I love Hayley's voice! My favorite album of theirs is All We Know Is Falling for sentimental reasons, but this song is cool too!

Like, like "Decode" through some kind of All We Know Is Falling-y filter. Out on Tuesday apparently.

I like it a lot. I really wasn't a fan of their last album. I agree it sounds a lot like Decode (which is not a bad thing at all). I really like it. Pleasing. I have a feeling when their new album comes around it will be very very good. Despite how good Zac was as a drummer, since 2007 really there was a lot of tension in the band, and I think with Brand New Eyes they really did end up making an album that the record label wanted them to make after the commerical success of the 2nd one.

I really hope I'm not the only one that likes Brand New Eyes I think, for me, all three albums have been pretty solid. If I were to order them it would be:
Riot! All We Know Is Falling Brand New Eyes I would love for the new album to be a collection of Riot! and AWKIS, that would probably be the ultimate Paramore album. I'm really glad that the band have been able to create something good after the departure of the Farro brothers. Usually after a member of a band leaves it all kinda goes downhill but this just proves that Paramore is a band and is not just about any particular member of the group. That last sentence was a little cheesy but hey ho. |

I like all their albums, for me "Riot!" is by far the best but "Brand New Eyes" was far better produced and showed some growing maturity, which puts it ahead of "All We Know Is Falling" imo.

Not a huge fan of Paramore. But i loved the brand new eyes era.
Based on the first listen, i like it. I hope it does them well. But paramore's singles don't normally do well, it's their albums. But at least it gives buzz to their new album. |

This could be the only exception In all seriousness, given "Decode" spent ages just outside the top 40 when their fanbase was much smaller so "Monster" should have no such troubles. |

Plus, Ignorance did reasonably well! I can't see this doing THAT well, but I imagine (especially with Paramore's mad fans and the fact that it isn't on an album as of yet) it'll easily get Top 40. They are probably the most relevant rock group around at this moment in time. |

Ok, fair enough. But Paramore are hardly irrelevant compared to half the bands around at the moment, and Brand New Eyes went #1. Foo Fighters' did too, but they have had alot longer to build a fanbase. Of course, I never said Paramore weren't relevant. They're one of only a handful of proper bands around atm that have a hope of having a proper hit single - let's hope this can be it! |
