All said and done Golden has achieved a pretty great chart run - the album really exceeded my expectations! 9 months in the charts.

Totally - anything at all from this point on is a total bonus. So many pre-release predictions of it being a 1-7-28-54-73-88-out kinda album so it’s exceeded everyone’s expectations and has been a real return to commercial success for Kylie. The album was a hit and allowed her to reconnect with the GP and lapsed fans and got her onto almost every single high profile UK TV show.

All very true. In the chart forum many predicted a chart run like you outlined with some saying they cant wait to laugh when Kylie has one of the biggest falls from Number 1. The album surprised many and i think Kylie really managed to connect with her fans throughout the campaign.

I think the success of Golden will help Kylie make more careful decisions when it comes around to her 15th studio album. I think Kylie knows Kiss Me Once was a mistake, it was rushed and lacked an overall sound and direction and she over turned this with Golden.

They need to just clear out all the remaining stock now - the reductions on her website are not even highlighted as being on offer and they seemingly still have plenty of copies of the Christmas edition of the tape, can’t see there being much demand for those at full price in January kink.gif

I am slightly missing the chart update on Golden's chart position that we would find out around this time of the week.
I enjoyed those 7 months when it had a chart placing.

That's really interesting. I wonder if quite a few songs on the album were incepted with that sort of feel before they became the jingly-jangly bops we now know?
