Artist announcement on Friday, I think the Loukas Yiorkas rumours could be right! |

Apparently it is actually Hovig! He is from the same series of X Factor that Ivi Adamou and Eleftheria Eleftheriou both appeared on and was in the 2015 Cypriot national final with this:
It's all going to be about the song with him, he seems a capable singer but nothing wow. I have optimism though as CyBC really pulled it out of the bag for what seemed an initially underwhelming choice in Minus One, also from that 2015 national final. |

It is Hovig and his song will be a Thomas G:son song! Maybe Cyprus have a long-term contract with G:son

This will be called Gravity (we believe)!
https://escxtra.com/2017/01/31/hovig-sing-g...ty-cyprus-kyiv/ I have high expectations for this after Alter Ego's amazing surprise this time last year, hopefully Cyprus are going to have 3 qualifications in a row! |

Sounding like a more modern and likeable 'I Want Your Love' at the moment, there's potential!

For some reason it puts me in mind of Human by Rag N Bone Man. It's perhaps that if it was doctored by a set of Swedish writers and entered to Melfest I quite like this though!

It reminds me of Human as well but better as Human got very annoying very fast. It's definitely got a chance of making it three finals in a row for Cyprus especially considering Greece and Armenia are both in his semi and it is the semi with all the female ballads too. Hopefully they get Sacha to do his staging as well like she did for Minus One!

La La Love aside, Cyprus isnt a country I usually have high hopes for however this is impressive. I just wished the chorus gave a little more.

I like it a lot, seems an easy qualifier too. Surprisingly high budget (I know...) for Cyprus. |
