OH MY LORD PLEASE COME BACK
IT HAS PREMIERED OMG ITS FAB http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/hurts-some-kind-of-heaven/
OMG SLAY
I'd love to see them finally have a big hit in their own right. Fingers crossed for some good material.
The song is really good!
they could easily have a huge #01 with this i feel...
Still sounding like a B-list late 80s band.
But the production sounds promising.
OMG THIS IS AMAZING!
And it better be huge.
That's a massive chorus! Really like it on first listen and definitely agree about its hit potential.
Would be great to see Hurts return successfully as I randomly revisited their debut album a few weeks ago and found it much better than I'd remembered. A really well-executed, polished collection of songs - been playing 'Illuminated' in particular a lot ever since . Still never checked out their follow-up but I'm excited to hear more from them based on this.
I've played their sophomore a few times this year, too. Very underrated, even by me. Miracle / Sandman / Somebody to Die For & Heaven are all fantastic and so is their cover of Wonderwall.
@Noah, you should definitely at least check out the singles & Sandman.
^ Good to know, will do!
I don't know how many times I'm going to change the OP, but the song is out on iTunes and Amazon!

Sounds great to me! Their debut album remains amazing.
Why wasn't that our Eurovision entry?
There were stories about them doing Eurovision a few years ago, but it never happened
Loving the more optimistic/upbeat direction 'Some Kind of Heaven' is taking~
I reckon Hurts would do really well at Eurovision.
I love this new song and think it's very summery and catchy. My husband walked behind me whilst I was listening to it though and said 'sounds a bit like Take That though, doesn't it?'
Just playing it non-stop in recent days. The song is as good as ever.
Please also do a shirtless video this time.
The video looks great but so f***ing creepy I have no idea what it means
I don't get it either, but I'm guessing that was the idea.
Do you reckon it will actually end up as a hit now that there's a video? Such a shame if it doesn't as the video looks pretty expensive and it's their most radio-friendly song I think.
I think the video has something to do with clones and that guy is chasing Theo because he's ~original~ lol.
No way they have zero chances of another hit, I'm afraid.
Theo is as hot as usual!
I found his running really sexy, actualy
Some kind of Heaven is Radio 2's record of the week.
Just walked past Theo at Soho Square
How have i only just discovered this!? I've loved their previous two eras but just sort of forget this new era had started until now. Such a BIG return and definitely chasing a commercial hit (which they won't get unfortunately ).
He was talking on the phone and had his day off hipster jacket on so I didn't feel like intruding. :/
Had I'd been me I'd probably have sexually harassed him and gone to jail.
Sheepster.
Thanks very much for explaining what the jacket was
Just freaking brilliant!!
It'll definitely be huge grower for me.
It was very good when they sang it live, though I was thinking it would be Nothing will be bigger than us as the next single for some reason.
They released "Lights" on youtube and it's forgettable crap really. It's the first time I dislike music from Hurts.
Oh dear, it is pretty poor isn't it? If it's a hit, it will just add insult to injury.
Theo rules the dancefloor!
In fact, just after watching this video, my whole opinion for the song has dramatically changed for the better.
This needs to rule the chart. It's something I've never seen Theo doing before, considering a couple of years ago he said that he can't dance.
A truly mental video and myself, daughter and husband all watched it grinning like idiots at Theo really getting into it. He'd make a great Strictly contestant and him being in it would make me watch lol
I actually think it would do well if they released it, but then I noticed today on Facebook they've said it's song called Slow out on 11 September.

This song is good, I love the cover.
But I prefer their Rolling Stone.
Here's a link to the latest song from the album.

I'm really confused. Are these singles or just free tracks when you pre-order the album?
I think that in this day and age when you find it hard to focus on the singles, album sales is what really counts.
For any Hurts UK fans. Sky TV are in the process of trying to find fans to be in the audience for a show. They contacted me through Twitter and are struggling to find UK fans. If any of you are interested then let me know and I can pass your details onto them. The planned TV shoot is Weds 23 September.
They're approaching fans on Twitter and I happened to be one of the UK based fans. When I said I'd be interested, the assistant producer rang me to discuss it. I said I'd seen on Twitter the other groups fans they are trying to contact for other shows in the series - Rudimental, Take That, Little Mix amongst others. I said that compared to the others Hurts seem an odd one in the mix (not that I'm complaining). He said some of it is down to the artists who are free - but then said that didn't mean Hurts were definitely playing. He was playing his cards close to his chest lol
I like it
The entire album is now on their youtube channel !! But I'll wait a few more days lol.
I didn't really listen to pretty much anything they released yet this era but going through this album now. Rolling Stone is beyond stunning! That instrumental in the chorus! FUCKING MASSIVE *.*
Hurts are performing on TFI Friday on Channel 4 next Friday evening.
Cool !!
By the way, has anyone got any midweek positions?
The album entered the charts at number 12 yesterday. I don't think the midweeks is until Monday or Tuesday now.
Really quite happy with this. It's not as good as Happiness, but it's so much better than Exile (which was probably one of the most disappointing albums I've ever listened to). It's just nice to see they're still capable really. Of the non-singles I really like Wings and Policewoman, and much as it's a blatant sell-out of a track that they shouldn't have gone anywhere near, I can't help but repeatedly go back to Nothing Will Be Bigger Than Us.
Slow is actually my life. I am so insanely obsessed with this album it's not even funny.
Maybe the TFI Friday performance may help the album sales (fingers crossed).
I doubt it, and they had a pretty horrid campaign so far. I'd rather release Some kind of Heaven in at the beginning of September, they just left the album release for too long.
You're right Red Blooded Man. It put Lights on ITunes, but not very high. I don't mind Lights, but I'm not keen on it sung live as it sounds like Theo struggles with the high notes. I think they should have gone with Nothing will be bigger than Us rather than Lights.
There was talk on Popjustice forum that they reckon Hurts will be dropped by Sony. I really hope they're wrong, but then maybe a different record company would do a better job of promoting them, especially over here in the UK.
I am not sure who will sign Hurts if they are dropped... I have to say their fanbase is kinda split between Indie and Pop and there seems to be nothing that can bridge that divide.
I must be in the minority. I actually like both their Indie and pop stuff. It's actually Theo's voice that I like. He could sing me the Phone Book and I'd be happy.
Me too ! But I reckon no record company have the faintest idea to market them properly at the moment.
I don't think they've had a clue from start to finish with them. Exile was poorly promoted and I feel that Surrender has been just as bad. They released Some kind of heaven without any promotion here in the UK at all. It had the potential of being huge, but instead it bombed here. I'm really hoping they'll release Nothing will be bigger than us and it gets decent promotion, but I'm not holding my breath.
Finally got round to listening to this, and i think it's a brilliant album! I don't know why some people always look down on "going pop". Pop music is a hard genre to pull off but they've really made it work with this, with some delightful, joyous and sprightly songs. His voice really suits them too! It's a change of direction for them and they've pulled it off, so well done i say!
I understand it may alienate some fans that wanted more of the same from them but being a non-diehard fan i can enjoy and appreciate this as a separate piece of work to their other albums and get a lot from it. Really solid album <3
'Nothing Will Be Bigger Than Us' is splendid
The album is great but all the wrong singles have been released with exception of some kind of heaven. What about nothing will be bigger than us?
Yeah, it's the obvious choice, I am not sure why they released Light instead, though the video is splendid.
'Nothing Will Be Bigger Than Us' really has to be a single. It's HUGE.
I'm loving this album so much. It might not be as technically solid as the previous two or full of as many ideas but for sheer enjoyment it ranks above those two for me now! A sheer explosion of sound throughout and so enjoyable. On repeat ~
Their performance of Lights in a German music show, and Adam's arms...

Brilliant performance last night on Ukrainian X Factor. What I would give to see them appear on our British one or even Strictly. I reckon that would be the step up they would need to become better known. It looks like Nothing will be bigger than us may well be the next single.

Lol wrong key at "Nothing can be bigger than us", but a superb performance!
I'd be ecstatic if 'Nothing Will Be Bigger Than Us' is the next single I am absolutely obssessed with it right now <3
I think by this stage, nothing can revive the album. Roll on to album four, if they can still manage to remain with the label.

This is a pretty sad video, especially the reporter asking "is it a pop band trying to be cool?". That's like a strike in my heart.
I don't think it's necessarily about Hurts themselves. More that it's an industry where everything is a facade and things aren't what they seem. It's not an industry if you're a fragile person. It sort of got me thinking of the scenario where Jason left Take That. He was a sensitive, deep thinking person and said he felt lonely even when surrounded by people.
