R1 were losing interest in Cheryl anyway, I Don't Care falling down the chart so fast was probably the deciding factor in them snubbing her.

That's just proof that they don't playlist things on the merit of the song alone then, not that we really needed it. Only Human is right up their street and her most Radio 1 friendly track in ages. |

I suspect the album being a humongous flop is what deterred them from playlisting her, same with The Saturdays after what happened with Living For The Weekend.
I will admit, I am surprised and it's a shame as it's actually a pretty decent song by her usual standards. Oh well. |

It's hard not to blame her for the generally rubbish campaigns she's been running for a while now. She chose poor singles to launch the album with and this is basically the result.

Yeah I'm a bit surprised with Cheryl's snub too, I thought they would have at least C-listed it for a couple of weeks if nothing else. No comment-worthy additions this week really, except to say Olly Murs has been added really early based on its impact date. Quite surprised they're giving Guetta/Sande a 5th week on the A-list, and also surprised SOAK has been A-listed.
Regarding the whole Kanye debate, I doubt it's deliberate of Radio 1 not to add it, I think it's more likely that the record company hasn't officially "sent it to radio" yet. I expect it'll be playlisted next week. |

Sad not to see Jessie Ware's "Champagne Kisses" playlisted. Great to see Jess Glynne move to A-list though!

Do we know when the impact date is for Ariana? I don't think she's necessarily been snubbed.

Welcome to the Alist for the first time SOAK Sea Creatures is a wonderful little track and I'm glad radio 1 are taking a punt on her even tho it probably won't become a hit.
Glad they aren't supporting Cheryl as I think she's had enough support from them. On the issue raised about 3/4th singles it's absolutely right that by that stage of album campaigns the single shouldn't go above the B list to keep the Alist for newer artists! |
