I hope Freya can increase in streams this week (I think this week is Week 3 because I am sure she had a sales increase when she dropped to number 14) and thus avoid ACR. How far up HH is she now?

Unfortunately I don't see Fleur going top 40

Posted by: Bré 6th January 2019, 11:25 PM

I think nearly every song in the chart, including Freya, is safe from ACR for another three weeks because nearly everything increased in streams last week (due to people returning to non-Christmas music).

TGS can do one from #1 albums and I hope 2002 fails to re-enter the top 40

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 7th January 2019, 04:40 PM

I was hoping to see Fleur higher than that. She probably won't even make the top 75 after all.

Posted by: Hadji 7th January 2019, 04:41 PM

I hope R1 continue to support Fleur

I'm actually shocked she's that low, I was thinking she'd be Top 20 today and Top 40 come Friday. I guess streaming has been really unkind to her!

Posted by: Bjork 7th January 2019, 04:48 PM

poor Fleur, but it's week 1, just needs Spotify support

hopefully Grace makes the top 40 by Friday

wow... is #2 possible for Mark/Miley this week ? it's still increasing on itunes.

Posted by: pippa 7th January 2019, 04:54 PM

I would welcome Hold my Girl staying Top 10 and wonderful to see Take That still Top 10 on the album chart.
It is a disappointing result for Fleur East.
Clean Bandit heading for another new peak this week.

Posted by: Bré 7th January 2019, 04:59 PM

Freya still contending for that 4th run in the top 10! (Might actually even reach a new peak?) Good to see 'Hold My Girl' in the top 10 as well, George hopefully continuing his record of going top 10 or not top 40 at all.

Am I missing something re: 'One Kiss' being up so much again this week? I don't recall anything happening to give it such a big boost?

Album chart completely devoid of fresh releases again, and it's looking like it will be next week as well. James Blake to take advantage of rock bottom sales to get the first new top 10 album of the year the week after that hopefully? (Unless there's a surprise drop some time before that ofc ~)

Reset to SCR. laugh.gif It's ahead of Promises now too. laugh.gif

Posted by: Bré 7th January 2019, 05:02 PM

Oh :') I thought that might have been the case but I also thought that it'd probably be even higher than #22 if it was.

SCR resets seem to happen so infrequently and this time it's happened to a song that very clearly does not need it laugh.gif

At least Fleur is doing better than Alexandra did last year. Both had mini revivals due to reality TV, but Fleur has not wasted any time in releasing new music.

True but Alexandra had a career to revive unlike fleur who currently is basically a 1 hit wonder

It's not. It will fall and be lucky to be top 100 by the end of the week. Alexandra and the record label were obviously going for the strictly crowd and trying to flog a MOR album.

Both are flops, Fleur's attempt to be current will achieve nothing and Alex album was a damp squib 1 week and out album.

Well her performance of it at the STALWART of naff TV - the NTAs - gave it a boost into the Top 60 on iTunes 3 years ago, so fingers crossed !! Maybe she'll get another chance to perform at the end of Channel 5's Britain's Favourite Biscuit ?

Tbf to Olly, Fleetwood Mac, Bublé and the 2 Queen albums are the only albums in the mid week top 20 to still be full price (at least in hmv).

Olly and Little Mix are the only 2 to discount JUST their standard versions. Every other album released last year in the top 20, have all versions of their albums reduced.

(Not sure about iTunes though...)

Posted by: Bjork 8th January 2019, 02:10 PM

that 100Hunna song and the Chris Brown one have official videos from the start and
are in the Youtube top 20 already, so that sure helps

So really we still don't know why Olly is doing better still, he gonna outsell them this area isn't he huh.gif
Maybe, but I dunno. He is on The Voice every week from this week, but I think once LM FINALLY push the 2nd single to radio, they'll hold up stronger than they have been doing. Get Weird & Glory Days both had singles being promoted at this time of year (during boxing day/Jan sales etc..) GW had Secret Love Song and GD had Touch. I really don't get why they're wasting time on pushing the next single grrrrrr. It's so infuriating! laugh.gif

Yeeeeeessssss at Ava's lead ohmy.gif Really hope she can surprise and hold off Calvin next week.

Posted by: Bjork 9th January 2019, 06:00 AM

don't think Olly vs Lmix is a fair comparison,
Olly's is essentially his Greatest Hits, thats why it's selling, not cos of the new songs

Is Rita safe for top 20? x

Posted by: Bré 9th January 2019, 06:44 PM

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's album looking like cracking the top 40 in its third week on release? Seems like a slightly unusual chart run for... any album really but especially these streaming-dominated hip-hop albums which usually peak in their first week (the only other recent one I can think of that was a climber was Juice WRLD's and that was only because he was completely irrelevant at the time it was released). Not sure why it's holding up so much better than 21 Savage's album that was released at the same time, really struggle to see what A Boogie's particular appeal is.

Hope that BMTH can hang onto the top 40, it's far from their best song but it'd be good to have another vaguely rock song getting a play on the chart show. Guessing it's going to just miss out though.

Posted by: danuary 9th January 2019, 06:49 PM

I expect Bring Me The Horizon will be replaced with Lewis Capaldi, who's just outside top 40 at the moment.

It's been reset to SCR, in a chart climate where many of its surrounding songs are on ACR.
