21st LET IT GO 4.85
UK chart peak: #42 (Silver) US chart peak: #38 (Gold) Highest score: 9 (UltraRedLight) Lowest score: -1 (Davidson, Mrs Potts, Tyler, Tim) First to bow out is soundtrack single Let It Go, which of course featured in the film Frozen. The main film version sung by Idina Menzel is the biggest selling #11 hit ever, and was the 10th best selling single of 2014 in the UK. Demi's version did well enough in its shadow, going Silver in the UK and Gold in the US. It's a great song but not one of her best, I think people just dislike the song in the first place but for me as a fan, it still pales in comparison to the film version, a soaring showtune ballad with no holds barred. Comparatively, Demi's version can feel a bit weak, and didn't really need to be released as people massively took to the main version anyway Clearly it's not a fave among Buzzjack with its four -1s and last place, this was the only song to have an average below 5 as well, oops. |

Hype *.* hoping for Give Your Heart a Break to win! <3
Demi's version of Let It Go is fab but it is nothing compared to Idina's masterpiece 💚 |

I completely forgot to vote on this (whoops! ) Let It Go would have definately been my -1 too though. I can't stand the regular, film-version and this was just an unnecessary cover version.
Give Your Heart A Break / Cool For The Summer for #1 please |

OMG I'm surprised at that finishing last said no one ever
It's an alright song but Idina's is much better. It felt like it was only recorded to put on the credits or somewhere other than the main scene for variational purposes. |

Let It Go is bad anyway but it doesn't help that Demi's version is completely unnecessary too - Idina's original is FAR more spectacular in every way

20th GET BACK 5.35
UK chart peak: N/A US chart peak: #43 Highest score: 7.5 (Liam) Lowest score: 1 (Davidson, Tyler) Get Back was the first single from Demi's first album, released nearly 9 years ago in August 2008! It was a good start to her career, peaking at #43 in the US and attaining good reviews. It's a slight bop but nothing amazing imo, it's exactly what you'd expect a Disney star to release in 2008 really. I loved it at the time but 20th is about right for it, when she's had a career with so many great pop songs it hasn't really stood the test of time that well. |

I gave Get Back my lowest score: a 6. It was quite basic compared to the rest of her singles.

19th This Is Me 6.09
UK chart peak: #33 US chart peak: #9 (Gold) Highest score: 10 (Liam, UltraRedLight, Jade) Lowest score: 0 (Davidson, Tyler) One of my faves already out This should be top 10 at least. Maybe it's the memories of the film which I adored and watched SO many times, but I can't help but belt this out every time I hear it as if I am Mitchie Torres on that stage. It's basic af and musically far from her best but I have such memories with it, tune. I thought it would be a bit higher tbh |

18th HERE WE GO AGAIN 6.25
UK peak: N/A US peak: #14 (Platinum) Highest score: 11 (Faller) Lowest score: 2 (Davidson) WHAT THE f*** BUZZJACK?! This would be an 11 contender if Skyscraper wasn't so far ahead of the others as one of my absolute all time faves, like top 10. This is in or at least just outside my top 100 songs ever and probably 4th or 5th for Demi songs... It's a perfect pop/rock song that captures all the conventions and shows off Demi's voice perfectly. This was a bit of a turning point in her career as it was her first top 20 hit in her own right that wasn't from Camp Rock, and it went Platinum in the process. This really should be higher, I didn't expect it to be as such because people won't have the same connection to this as her newer stuff but This is the lowest song to get an 11 as well, as Faller decided it was his Demi fave |

17th REMEMBER DECEMBER 6.58
UK peak: #80 US peak: N/A Highest score: 11 (Tawdry Hepburn) Lowest score: 1 (Davidson) The next to bow out was a UK only single from Demi, which reached #80. That was quite good for her at the time, as she'd only had This Is Me and La La Land at hits up to this point. I rememebr seeing the video a lot on music channels. This is one I always forget about comparative to her other stuff, but always have a bop to it when it does come up on shuffle etc. It's a fab power pop song with a powerful chorus that explodes after more subtle verses. |

16th LA LA LAND 6.67
UK peak: #33 US peak: #52 Highest score: 10 (Liam) Lowest score: 3 (cqmerqn) Noooooo This is the last song of "old Demi" to bow out (by which I mean her pop/rock stuff), and was her second #33 peak in the UK, her first hit in her own right as TIM was the appeal of Camp Rock and JoBros mashed in. This seemed to score a lot of 5s and 6s and 7s so people seem to just not mind this song, but love from a few of us pushed it beyond that to become the highest of her pop rock material. I absolutely love this, it's perfectly indicative of her sound then and her vocals are great on it, I feel she elevates the song without being TOO screechy although some may disagree That's it now til Sunday evening as I won't have my laptop, I thought I'd get to the top 15! |

Aw no, Here We Go Again is the first big loss so far. But I suppose the more modern Demi was always going to be more favourable here. Remember December is a good one too.
Also Demi looks so hip in that hoodie *.* This post has been edited by shatteredSanity: 29th July 2017, 10:59 AM |

Good to see lots of older Demi tracks out first, she's definitely improved with time.
I wouldn't have placed Let It Go last, Demi's version is much better than the original for me, but it wouldn't be too high anyway so no loss! |
