Fuller: "Spice girls reunion within 18 months"
26 February 2007 - 13:20:53
The Spice Girls are to reunite and perform a world tour within the next 18 months, according to former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller.
Talking to The Evening Standard, Fuller said the only thing holding up the project was singer Mel C's reluctance to rejoin her former band-mates.
"All of the girls are up for it, and the reunion will definitely happen in the next 18 months," says Fuller. "The only person showing any reluctance is Mel C. She thinks her solo career is bigger than the band, which is just not the case. She needs to wise up and realise a reunion would be amazing for everybody concerned. Emma and Geri are meeting her soon to discuss everything and convince her to finally sign a deal."
Fuller added that the reunion will only consist of a tour, and will not be see the band returning to the studio to record new material since the girls "all lead very separate lives now".
"They'll do a whirlwind tour for six months and they'll be gone again," he said.

great news
Meh, couldnt care less about concerts. I wanted a new album.
I'll believe it when I see it. This comes from the man they sacked
i really wanna go cant wait
Oooh yeah I heard about that, I'm not really sure what to think of it, I used to like them when I was a little kid but people have moved on in music tastes now - I'm not sure it will work.
Eugh, hopefully not
I don't think she means her solo carear is bigger than the SG's, just that it is FAR FAR bigger than all the other girls solo success. She is having huge success in Europe so she is more than entitled to carry on with her own carear. It is hardly her fault the rest of them failed and want a way to make millions again.
I imagine Mel probably thinks that her solo career is her priority, rather than a reunion, which I agree with.
However, a tour would be great ... I imagine a DVD/live album would come out of it?
Well, i want new songs .. i bet they will make a new album if everything goes fantastically
very happy they better do a new album though!
They are late now, and they still say another 1.5 year. It will be too late in my opinion...

i can never seeit happening ,with all the bands that have reformed it has just happened with the spoice girls its been talked about for years but nothing happens
If it happens, that's good..I like them.
Interesting news. Pity they arent going to record any new material. A greatest hits CD would have been good with a few new tracks thrown in.
I was also going to say that originally, Take That were supposed to just do a tour and no new material but they've come back like a bang. It could happen with the spice girls too particularly if Mel C's new material doesnt do as well as expected.
well fingers crossed.
id love to see them live, always wanted to back in the day but never got the chance.
Thats Brilliant!!!!
They were great live, think it may have been my first concert to, May in Birmingham!
Their hasbeens
and if their not recording
Why bother?
