It's 20 years since Dannii Minogue experienced her biggest hit to date with 'Who Do You Love Now'. Originally an instrumental titled 'Stringer' by Dutch dance duo Riva, the song was given lyrics and recorded by Dannii. It became her first Top 3 hit in the UK as well as finding chart success across Europe and in Australia; it was also released to US clubs and reached #15 on the Billboard dance chart.

20 years on, how does 'Who Do You Love Now' rate for you? Post your thoughts and memories below!

Wow, I never realised Riva were Dutch!

I remember this release so well, the first time I heard the name Dannii Minogue actually. I never went out to buy the single but I loved seeing the video on the music channels all the time, it was big here. Bring back so many memories in general, the end of 2001 was such a good era for pop music.

Forever love this track and it also kick started the Dannii comeback after the failure of ‘Girl’ and most people had written her off as being able to produce hits again.

"All I wanna do" was a hit, wasn't it?

20 years drama.gif

I had heard of Dannii before this single, but not as a popstar, but as a TV presenter! She presented a show called Electric Circus in the late 90s. The 'Girl' era totally passed me by (I was only 9). I really liked Who Do You Love Now at the time (I was 13 and followed the charts closely). I remember it being regularly on the music channels!

A few months after its release I bought a 9 track CD single of this while I was on holiday in Corfu. Don't think I ever did listen to every remix on there htough kink.gif

Yes it went Top 5 but the follow up singles didn’t fare as well and the album bombed, WDYLN kick started her run 5 consecutive Top 10s (Almost 6 if ‘Perfection’ hadn’t stalled at #11 drama.gif)

Dannii was performing Notre Dame De Paris in London when she was offered this track.

She nearly turned it down in fact as the theatre schedule was so full
on.

Without Who Do You Love now the Neon Nights success would not have came about.
