Brilliant album though!

Posted by: ThePensmith 1st April 2019, 04:31 PM

Good start for Westlife, who'd have thought a year ago they'd be back with two top 20 singles to their name? Hopefully another long run like they had for 'Hello My Love' is in store for them.

Nice to see 'You Know I Know' climbing again for Olly, especially as 'Feel The Same' promo hasn't even started yet.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 1st April 2019, 04:34 PM

Does he have any promo coming up for Feel the Same? Such a banger!

It's 3 weeks old. There's still time and aurplay is only just starting to properly take off for it. Once it's B-List on R1, we should start seeing bigger increases biggrin.gif

Rammstein at #68! Still doing well on iTunes and the video has millions of views - so hopefully it will be their first Top 100 since 'Pussy' in 2009!

He was on 'All Round To Mrs Brown's' on BBC One at the weekend, I'd imagine there'll be a few more TV things this month certainly although his tour starts next month so whatever there is will be limited, it always is when a single of his comes out around or just before tour starts!

EDIT: He was on Loose Women this lunchtime, my bad - talking about the song but he was also there with Jimmy and Molly, his two finalists on next weekend's final of The Voice. I know that he'll be doing a performance with both of them on the final, whether it'll be on 'Feel The Same' is yet to be seen.

Getting pretty bored of this stagnant top 2 now. Hoping Giant goes on ACR soon.

Really pleased with how Dido is doing. Would love to see this be a consistent seller this year. Just shows there is still enough general interest in her as an artist for people to give the new material a go.

Yes, I would think that it would chart; and push "Thank U, Next" out - given that Ariana is credited as the (first) lead artist.

Assuming the Top 2 remains the same, how many weeks in a row would that be now?

Posted by: danG 2nd April 2019, 11:16 AM

This would be the 6th week we have the same top 2 (and in the same order).

It wouldn't be the record though, only last year we had 'God's Plan' and 'These Days' as the top two for 7 weeks (and it would've been 8 had 'God's Plan' not fell onto ACR).

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 2nd April 2019, 11:38 AM

Shame giant never hit the top spot as I'd have preferred the top 2 the other way around.

Also I think All 4 One's 'I Swear' was #2 behind Wet Wet Wet for 7 weeks in 1994 (or was it Right Said Fred behind Bryan Adams in 1991?)

You're right with the first one. RSF behind Bryan Adams was for 6 weeks.

Posted by: jimwatts 2nd April 2019, 04:25 PM

Longest ever static top 2 was in 1954 - 8 weeks:
Doris Day - Secret Love at #1
Johnnie Ray - Such A Night at #2 (after being #1 for a week)

Posted by: SKOB 2nd April 2019, 04:28 PM

Bad Guy can very well be #2 this week.

At this time of year streaming is becoming more and more dominant in the album chart compared to year end when the cd buyers return in force!

I didn't even consider Khalid which shows you a lot lol, but yes his streaming will be decent!
