Sorry for yet another thread, sometimes I can’t help myself by coming up with new talking points surrounding music...
So this time, I was thinking of the successful chart return of Ella Henderson after 4 years since her last charted single in the UK as a feature with Kygo, and I know some in this community we’re highly anticipating her eventual comeback, and despite the length of absence she has been quickly taken back by the general public it seems. The question is, are there other artists who have not had any chart presence for as long, or longer, who you are still anticipating making a chart return in the near future. Adele fans congregate because we all know it will only be a matter of time for her. So ruling her out already, can you think of someone whose last appearance in the UK Top 40 was in 2014 or beyond and who are still known to be actively making music (aka not split up). I thought it would be interesting to see what names are suggested... |

Paolo Nutini seems to have vanished after being big for the last half of the 00s and first half of the 10s, not that I expect he'd get another hit single again if he returns though.
Not anticipating any music from him myself, he just came to mind. |

As for artists I do like I guess I could say Armin van Buuren in terms of him having not seen the UK chart since 2013, although there's definitely been no shortage of new music from him.
I doubt he'll ever get a UK hit again, but he doesn't need one either. |

Gabrielle Aplin is currently back on my radar thanks to BJSC and her song Kintsugi, it's been 6 years since she was last in the chart!

Moving this to UK Charts, a better home Oh sorry, yes it makes sense to be in here instead. One name I thought of who, although has has minor chart success outside the Top 40 since 2014, is Fuse ODG. A possible contender or are we already done with him? Another name I thought of was Nicole Scherzinger but I’m lead to believe she is reuniting with Pussycat Dolls for something in the near future, perhaps she will make a UK Top 40 return in some form then. |
