Feel free to interpret this thread title however you want but essentially I mean which one do you connect with the most - perhaps because of the lyrics themselves or due to taking you back to a certain time? Or alternatively which do you think is her strongest lyrically if you don't personally have that much of an emotional tie to her music? |

I think she has plenty of lyrical highs - the triumph of 'no tears left to cry' while the world was waiting to hear how she would respond to tragedy, the maturity when approaching the subject of exes in 'thank u, next', such an open tackling of mental health on 'in my head'... but I think the Ariana song that I connect to most lyrically is probably 'breathin' - as quite an anxious person I find that song to be a massive comfort blanket. The video alongside it was such a subtle but effective illustration too - I'm very happy that song got its moment before it was time to roll on to the next era.

get well soon. I love all music, all genres, country to hip hop, and this is still one of the top songs in any genre that calms me, puts me in a healing place. I have anxiety and this song helps me in every situation. It will never fail to get me teary eyed and emotional to this day. Absolutely beautiful song, and means so much to me. I get chills listening to it years later. So timeless. Not to mention the lyrics, meaning, vocal layering harmonies are so complex and rich, feels like she's really there for me telling me i'll get through this. Life is hard and it really sucks sometimes, this song gives me hope for better days. It just can help anyone, and it's the reason why music is my #1 thing in life. It's there for me during my ugly, rough times. I could go on and on about this song, but put it simply, straight up, this song has saved my life

I really like Break Free. Good memories attached with that and an emotive message lyrically.

I would say 'Break Free' as it simply helped me become more comfortable in my own skin, but also 'breathin' really got me through a difficult period. It was my soundtrack many a morning and evening.

The power of music! 'Be Alright' is another really big one for me as well actually, a real pick-me-up.

'Thinkin Bout You'
It's my favourite song off Dangerous Woman and hearing it live on the DWT was a totally special moment. It went on to become my favourite song of 2016... and then the Manchester bombing happened at a concert a week after I saw her live. This song was the one that hit me hardest following that news because of my special connection to it. It has remained my #1 Ariana song following on from the horrendous events and now it gives me light in an otherwise dark and morbid situation. There are few songs that give me feelings of pure, unadultered LOVE like this does; it showcases the power that music can have perfectly (as you mentioned above for other songs). No matter what life throws at you, you'll have the memories of brighter times and you'll always have music </3 |

'Thinkin Bout You' has been a really slow burner for me over the years but I adore it now. Such a special album in general! |
