Four songs have been suggested a few times in the main AF Idol thread:

Spice Girls - Naked
Emma Bunton - No Sign of Life
Emma Bunton - Too Many Teardrops
Melanie C - Closer

Spiceboy and myself are struggling to decide which would be the best one to go with!

Before you vote: if you could try and think about this more in terms of which song you feel would stand to do the best for us (which might not necessarily be your personal favourite song) that would be helpful. Although if your favourite song happens to also be the song you strongly believe would do well for us, by all means vote for it!

To those of you who aren't familiar with some or any of these tracks, it would be brilliant if you're able to have a listen to the songs too. Your fresh perspective would be very useful for us!

For me it's Too Many Teardrops. It's got the strongest first minute of the options here. It really grabs you from the get-go.

Oxygen never seems to go down well with most people

A shame that Spice Girls didn't record a tremendously good ballad for either Spice or Spiceworld that they didn't end up releasing as a single. It's very slim pickings. If this round was 'uptempo album track' we'd be spoiled for choice!

Voted 'Naked'. It's really stuck in my head since hearing it earlier tonight, love the laidback production of it!

Those Emma tracks don't strike me as ballads!

Yep looking like Naked is going to be our submission then. It's quite different for a ballad too so hopefully that will work in our favour. Ps poor Closer not a single vote it's possibly my favourite track on Northern Star, although it really could do with being shorter lol

I’d have opted for Goodnight Kiss by Geri but I’m probably alone in that.

Naked sounded pretty bad, think I’d go for an Emma track.

Shock result for me.

Even though I initially felt the Emma tracks weren't all that ballad-y, the way she sings TMT is hauntingly beautiful and emotive.

Also rediscovering 'No Sign of Life' - it has given me some 'Too Much' vibes. Even the structure, you could imagine it being sung by the group.

Always hurts a bit to see someone consider a ‘Spice’ album track as being bad! Naked became quite a fan favourite thanks to its memorable tour performance. A very moody/sensual track that really stands out in their back catalogue, I find it quite sublime! Thanks for the feedback though

It was definitely cool in the nineties. And the first chair I ever bought was absolutely influenced by THAT performance. Never got the opportunity to recreate such a moment though.

If we enter it, someone should share that iconic performance in the thread straight away!

A very inspired performance, totally iconic and classic to the fan base. Would be nice if non-fans checked out moments like that. There’s so much more to discover beyond the greatest hits.

Naked is perfect as it is. But I am not sure it will do well on this round, personally. I hope I am wrong!!!
