So the girls are officially working on their 4th album. So I thought I'd start the topic.

Here's an article from CapitalFM.

QUOTE
Yes. The girls are working on something BIG. *GASPS*

Little Mix say they have NO plans to go solo anytime soon and have confirmed they’ve already started work on their new album, which should be out “soon”, apparently! WHOOP!

The girls have been SLAYING it with all the hits off their third album ‘Get Weird’ which dropped at the end of last year, and have had some of their biggest hits to date from the record with tracks like ‘Black Magic’ and ‘Secret Love Song’.

And now the band have confirmed that album four is well on the way - and that an INCREDIBLE collaboration will be on the new release too!

“We’ve started working on the next album now, which is really exciting, so that should be out soon,” Jade Thirlwall confirmed to OK!.

“Hopefully there’ll be a few surprises on there, I actually cried when I heard a certain person wanted to collaborate with us,” Perrie Edwards added. “I can’t say anything yet in case it doesn’t happen, I don’t want to jinx it.”

And for any of you #Mixers worried that all the girls’ success might make them want to call it a day and go solo, it doesn’t sound like that’ll be happening anytime soon!

“We get along really well and like one another’s company,” Jade revealed to Straits Times out in Singapore. “It’d be weird if we weren’t together all the time.

“We have high ambitions and we’re not going to stop until we reach every goal and know we tried everything to be the biggest we could be,” she added. “We’re just going to keep going forever, hopefully.”
I am READY! I really don't know what I want from this album, but I completely trust the girls and have faith in the label that they will not drop the ball too much!

Excited about that collaboration. But I really, REALLY want a Max Martin smash!

If LM4 won't give us Salute teas, they can keep it.

Posted by: Joe. 26th May 2016, 09:50 AM

I don't want them to go too Rnb, that sound clearly didn't connect with the public as much as their pop sound did.

Posted by: caseclosed 26th May 2016, 10:37 AM

I want a new sound. I liked it when they said they like to constantly delivers albums with an unexpected sounds. Just hope they don't risk it too much.

Posted by: Matt1989 26th May 2016, 10:39 AM

I'm really intrigued as to who this collaboration is to prompt that kind of reaction from Perrie, must be someone pretty big

Posted by: Jimmy Jam 26th May 2016, 05:12 PM

Praying for queen Nicki tbh. I am convinced it will slay everyone!!

So hyped for album 4, don't really care if they go back towards developing a Salute sound, or advance the pop they've gone for with Get Weird or somewhere in the middle. it'll be undoubtedly flawless regardless!! cheer.gif

Posted by: SeanGrey 26th May 2016, 05:14 PM

Who are Perrie's influences? That'd be a pretty good place to start guesses. Wildcard but maybe Taylor Swift after their appearance on her 1989 tour?

I think I'd collapse if that happened! wub.gif

I'm so here for t swift and LM to collab, omg

Posted by: Juliano 27th June 2016, 10:46 PM

I've came to the conclusion for the lead single we need a DNA follow up which is an EDM/R&B

Something with a beat similar to Turn Down For What... or

Bassnectar - Vava Voom

Ohhhh,

The girls are in the studio today. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Joe. 8th July 2016, 02:45 PM

I still wonder if it's going to be a re-release though rather than album 4. I really wouldn't be surprised. If they tied it in with a tour DVD release it would be quite an attractive offer.

Posted by: Matt1989 8th July 2016, 02:45 PM

I'm beginning to wonder if we will actually get LM4 this year after all. They've got a few weeks with nothing (that we know of) booked until V Festival so that gives them time to fully focus on writing and recording LM4. It really depends whether they go for 2 pre-album singles or 1. I really hope it's two because the last time they went for an album release straight after a lead single look what happened!

Posted by: MrLoverboy 8th July 2016, 06:40 PM

I really don't see LM4 happening this year. It's month 7 already and no lead single coming soon. And I'd rather have at least 2 singles out before the album release. I wouldn't mind some new songs with the DVD

Not so sure why but their HQ lied. Perrie snapchatted herself at home working on her b'day decoration, Leigh is with some friends and Jadesy are nowhere to be seen. Perhaps that pic was from a few days ago

Posted by: Joe. 8th July 2016, 10:06 PM

It's so funny when the HQ signs off the names of the girls when it's obviously not them!

Pictures from when they recorded/produced grown!

Posted by: mr_pmt 9th July 2016, 01:45 PM

I can't see how we'd get a new album this year.

Posted by: Matt1989 9th July 2016, 03:09 PM

If we did get LM4 this year it would feel rushed IMO. Given they spent so long and took so much care with Get Weird I can't see how they would rush out an album this year. Bear in mind last year we got the first play of BM in May before it was released in July (a year ago tomorrow in fact) while they haven't even written LM4 let alone recorded it. IMO they're much better off releasing LM4 in the first 3 months of next year

Posted by: Joe. 9th July 2016, 03:14 PM

I still think it'd be a good idea to release SOMETHING new this Q4. Gaps and breaks aren't too great in the fickle pop world. I honestly think a re release would be perfect.

Posted by: Matt1989 9th July 2016, 05:49 PM

I'd be very surprised if they didn't release the lead single in time for an X Factor performance. Surely Cowell isn't going to have them not perform on both of his big shows in the same year?

Posted by: MrLoverboy 9th July 2016, 06:00 PM

Yeah, I need a X-factor performance. New single in november, single 2 in late february/early march, perhaps even a single 3 before the album release and then album out on q4

Posted by: LB1108 10th July 2016, 03:15 PM

There is no way they would release their first single in November this year and wait a whole year to release their next album!

That's what I was thinking. Better off starting the release process next year in the build up to an album release in the second half of the year. If they had trouble perfecting this album and scrapped a whole album in doing so, then they will need to account for similar incidents this time.

Posted by: Mackenzie 10th July 2016, 04:14 PM

I reckon we'll have at least the first single before the end of the year not, if not very early 2017.

Posted by: Matt1989 12th July 2016, 09:16 PM

John Alamu, who is a vocal coach, tweeted earlier that he did a session with 2 of Little Mix today and will be working with the other two tomorrow. It looks like Leigh was one of the two today judging by her snapchat about vocal warm-ups. Don't know which of the girls was with her though

Posted by: Matt1989 14th July 2016, 06:50 PM

Earlier today Jade posted a pic on Instagram of one of their 'Little Mix bibles' with the caption 'LM4', so we know they're deffo writing the new album rather than just doing nothing until V Festival

Posted by: Jonjo 28th July 2016, 07:07 PM

New music is definitely on the way as they just posted a "Throwback Thursday" of them writing ideas down and captioned the TBT post with "new music is on the way, don't worry" or something <3

Posted by: Karl. 29th July 2016, 12:47 AM

I don't know if The Sun is reliable but omg y'all!! w00t.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 29th July 2016, 01:30 AM

Why would they start working on the tour if they don't have the new material to use? Haha.

Posted by: Matt1989 29th July 2016, 06:40 AM

There's been rumours about Snakehips and DJ Snake, but what we know for sure is that the girls have definitely been working with Ryan Lewis. Yes, THE Ryan Lewis who works with Macklemore!!

Posted by: Karl. 29th July 2016, 07:32 AM

Well I really hope it's something like Can't Hold Us, I can already how awesome the next tour will be. If it's like Downtown or Thrift Shop, keep it.

Oh and who do y'all think this "A list female artist" is? I'm leaning towards Ariana...or Adele - it's a reach, yes, but she loves them a lot and I really really want a ballad written by them.

But knowing these ladies....lmao nocheer.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 29th July 2016, 10:02 AM

Ariana is a pretty good shout tbf. But we shall see. Good to see that after the success of 'Get Weird', they are being given the money to work with current and popular producers! Please be stellar!!

Posted by: MrLoverboy 29th July 2016, 11:44 AM

I'd love it to be Ariana but I don't think it makes sense. Though it would be beneficial for both. Ariana is sort of big in the UK but she could use a little bump from these ladies, and LM could use her name in the US.

Surely they mean their current tour?

Posted by: Matt1989 29th July 2016, 03:12 PM

Ariana would be my best guess for the 'A List female artist'. Several times Leigh and Perrie, especially Perrie have posted snaps of themselves listening to Ariana's music (Jade's snapchat only seems to work when she's in the US)

laugh.gif SO TRUE! Hahaaa.

Posted by: Matt1989 29th July 2016, 06:19 PM

As Jade is my fave it's frustrating that we get so little from her

Posted by: Joe. 30th July 2016, 07:47 AM

Ariana isn't exactly picky with her collabs so I hope
it's her. Nathan Sykes and Jessie J...

Posted by: Electro Paradise 5th August 2016, 07:11 PM

I'd be really happy with Ariana. I hope whoever it is they actually get to perform the song with the artist on tv and actively promote it together. Someone who is big in the US would be awesome. Have they said if it's a girl or boy? I hope it's a girl this time.

Posted by: Matt1989 5th August 2016, 08:34 PM

You make a very good point there. To this day they've never actually met Missy and I'm not aware of them ever meeting Sean. Of their three collabs they've only actually performed with the other artist on TV twice!

Posted by: Joe. 6th August 2016, 10:16 PM

I have a feeling we'll have some news by the end of August tbh

Posted by: Matt1989 7th August 2016, 10:32 AM

Maybe they'll announce something at V Festival? Would be a great time to debut a new song

I doubt they'd debut a new song at a festival. I think Girls Aloud did once or twice (Sexy No No No was wasn't it) but with the album closing in on the next certification they'll want to showcase the hits people already know.

Can't they do both? I mean, I don't think they care about trying to get the album to x2 plat when it's an complete inevitability.

Yes I know but it still doesn't make that much sense laugh.gif

September premiere of singles for them has happened before - Move and DNA (I think?) were premiered then and gave plenty of time to build hype for the middle of Q4.

Posted by: mr_pmt 14th August 2016, 12:48 AM

I'll still be really surprised if the album is actually released before Christmas, regardless of the time frames they're aiming towards.

Posted by: MrLoverboy 14th August 2016, 04:45 AM

I don't think the album was "rushed" in any way. I remember an interview during the BRIT's time where Perrie said they had already recorded songs and were exhausted. They probably recorded a lot of stuff for the past 4/5 months

Posted by: Joe. 14th August 2016, 09:39 AM

I think they've been recording it on and off since the start of 2016!

It does seem that way. They did also state months back that they recorded some songs for album 3 that didn't fit which may appear on album four. I get the impression now that may not be the case, but it is a possibility. There has been more than enough time to record a brilliant album. Sometimes it'll take ages, others it'll come together quickly. I don't doubt they could have an album together, but will wait for a more official announcement. smile.gif

Posted by: Matt1989 14th August 2016, 09:05 PM

Wouldn't surprise me if we hear something next weekend

Posted by: Joe. 15th August 2016, 08:10 AM

Yeah I really think there'll at least be solid news by the end of the month, possibly even a song. The way music works now, is that things get announced out of the blue.

Posted by: Matt1989 21st August 2016, 03:46 PM

The girls have just done an interview with Capital backstage at V Festival and they've confirmed the lead single of LM4 will be out in October

Posted by: Karl. 21st August 2016, 04:22 PM

As much as I'm excited about this era, I don't want them to release the album a month or two after the lead single (they said album might come out this year). That's giving me Salute era teas and I'm not here for that kind of messy era again. No ma'am.

Posted by: Joe. 21st August 2016, 05:12 PM

They've just been announced for he R1 Teen Awards on the 23rd of October. So that pretty much confirms off the batt huge support from r1. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the first of their singles to go straight to B or A list for them.

Posted by: shindymindy 21st August 2016, 05:29 PM

Amazing news. I think this era has really made people pay attention to them and realise how big they are.

Posted by: Jonjo 21st August 2016, 05:50 PM

It's definitely put them at the forefront of everyone's minds. Definitely made people take more notice of them! I just hope they don't drop the ball! He need higher tier pop. I think it'll be too soon for them to delve straight into RnB tinted pop again, although some as Urban and poppy as 'Work From Home' would be stellar for them!

Posted by: Juliano 21st August 2016, 08:07 PM

Craig David collab pretty much confirmed? Haha!

Posted by: Matt1989 21st August 2016, 08:37 PM

Great to hear about the Teen Awards, encouraging to know they're getting Radio 1 support right at the start of the LM4 era

Posted by: Matt1989 8th September 2016, 11:34 AM

We appear to have the title of LM4's lead single. Some guy called Jesus Palacios (great name) posted a pic on Instagram with the caption 'on the set of the new @LittleMix video #ShoutoutToMyEx

Posted by: shindymindy 8th September 2016, 12:22 PM

And the photos from before in the desert look like the real deal.
Excited much!

Posted by: Matt1989 8th September 2016, 02:08 PM

Apparently he's now deleted the pic. Looks like someone got in trouble!

Posted by: Davidson 8th September 2016, 02:29 PM

The dessert setting and the title immediately made me think of this classic:

Serve me some of that Mya too, please!

Posted by: Joe. 19th September 2016, 02:24 PM

I have a feeling if we get the single in October, the album pre-order will be for the first week of December/last week of November, given the album release announcements have recently been a lot closer to the actual release date.

I think they will get a Brit nomination for best UK group this year without a doubt, with 1D out of the way for the token pop act (if the album comes out in time). SLS could just about qualify for best single, failing that SOTME might make it?

Posted by: Matt1989 19th September 2016, 05:25 PM

Surely they must be in with a chance of a Brits nom for Best Group next year? Then again they didn't get one when they had the second biggest selling album by a British Group and I lost faith in the Brits years ago. As for British Single, I have a horrible feeling SLS will narrowly miss out, although if SOTME makes a big initial impact it could be in with a chance

Yeah, they'll be up for best group for sure (unless they don't release their album in time otherwise they'll be ineligible).

They'd need to have an album out by the end of the year I think to be able to be nominated for best group/album. They can still be nominated for best single though because that catagory works differently.

In Nov / Dec yes.

They are much bigger than they were last year. I suppose it also depends on how big the lead single is.

Posted by: MrLoverboy 26th September 2016, 11:48 AM

Agree, it will depend on the lead. But I think they'll manage it!

Posted by: caseclosed 26th September 2016, 12:03 PM

They had a much longer pre order and the huge single with Get Weird though. Did sales decrease a lot in this past year?

It's likely "Shout Out To My Ex" will be the international lead single (excluding the US).

with "Touch" featuring Ariana Grande being the lead US single and second international single in Q1.

Fantastic strategy if true as Touch will end up being able to do a Secret Love Song and catapult up the charts straight from album release thanks to the interest around Ariana whereas if it was the other way around it wouldn't quite work as well.

Posted by: Davidson 29th September 2016, 03:00 PM

Same day as Louisa Johnson. Strange move from Syco I have to say but oh well, capitalise on those festive sales (Louisa will sure need them).

I am excited for new LM music. As much as I wasn't a fan of the 'Get Weird' album in full I have faith they will really bring it, they always do with their singles anyway.

Posted by: Cameron 29th September 2016, 03:08 PM

I can see LM now being as overworked as 1D were if it is going to be a new album every year

Posted by: caseclosed 29th September 2016, 11:18 PM

I hardly believe it will, genuinely don't think they'll have anything out in 2017, unless by a miracle they find success in America, but then I think they'll be more than happy to do another one, despite tired.

Posted by: Matt1989 30th September 2016, 07:41 AM

I doubt LM5 will come out in 2017. They're in America with Ariana from beginning of February until mid-April, then they will inevitably have their own tour which will hopefully include North & South America. It's entirely possible they could be touring until November next year

Posted by: Electro Paradise 30th September 2016, 10:16 AM

Yeah I don't see a full album for 2017 either. I also wouldn't say they are being overworked, the next year is going to be difficult, but if they want to crack the US then they need to do it at some point. Plus they've been off work for a little while ATM, and they'll be off again for Christmas. I hope in 2017 they'll get enough rest as it's going to be intense, but it should be fun intense. I think they can definitely keep their sanity if they don't bother working on an album and just focus on promo and touring and use time they could work on music as downtime to see friends and family.

Posted by: Joe. 5th October 2016, 07:54 AM

If it's true it's out on the 18th of November, there is a chance of a #1, if Emeli's second week isn't too big. I can't see Emeli doing 65/75k+ in her second week (she's nowhere near as popular as she was), so fingers crossed.

Posted by: Matt1989 5th October 2016, 12:08 PM

They'll probably have some time off after the DW Tour before their own tour starts, which I'm gonna guess will start round about Jesy's birthday. If they do a full world tour (and I don't see why they wouldn't) they could quite easily be touring until November (with a 2/3 week break between legs) so I can't see how they would have time to work on an album next year

If it's true it's out on the 18th of November, there is a chance of a #1, if Emeli's second week isn't too big. I can't see Emeli doing 65/75k+ in her second week (she's nowhere near as popular as she was), so fingers crossed.

Metallica's album is coming on the same date though. And I'm very curious to see how much they will sell. The difference of time they had the album up for pre order is huge so it'll be interesting. I'm not even sure they'll sell 60k again on the first week but I like not to be optimistic.

Posted by: SeanGrey 5th October 2016, 09:06 PM

It does depend on the impact of the lead single as well. Black Magic definitely led to a fab position for them going into pre-orders and keeping the campaign a float.

Posted by: Joe. 5th October 2016, 10:01 PM

If they release the first single as an instant grat, it'll have a lot more success with pre orders.

Posted by: caseclosed 5th October 2016, 10:36 PM

Would the pre orders count towards the singles' chart though?

No they don't. Which is the reason why my girl Ariana missed the top 5 with Break Free in the Uk... Such a sin!

Posted by: Jonjo 6th October 2016, 12:39 AM

Pre-orders of the album don't. But if people individually purchase the track, those sales will I think.

Ariana suffered from appearing at a time when they were still trying to figure out rules of the chart and things with how fast they were changing iirc sad.gif

Yeah, as Jonjo said, those rules changed.

Anyway, I don't think a shorter pre-order time for the album will be a problem. I don't see them doing less than 60k for opening week, so long as they don't pull a Perfect Illusion as a lead single.

Posted by: shindymindy 6th October 2016, 08:36 AM

I can see them easily matching / beating 60k in the first week.
They are massive here at the moment. With the right first single and promo I see this being huge!

Posted by: Jonjo 6th October 2016, 09:10 AM

I've had a couple of people come into HMV asking when their new album is released and this is without any official confirmation that they are releasing, yet!

It's been 6 months. We need new LM music

Posted by: caseclosed 7th October 2016, 03:52 AM

Well Bruno's now releasing no November 18th.

Posted by: Joe. 7th October 2016, 06:31 AM

Argh, is he expected to do huge numbers then?

Posted by: Jonjo 7th October 2016, 11:15 AM

Bruno will have the biggest opening week sales of the year for an album. Especially in Q4. FFS!!!!

Posted by: Jonjo 7th October 2016, 11:20 AM

The week after they'll have 2nd week Bruno and 1st week Weeknd... I honestly think they'd beat Weeknd, but 2nd week Bruno might be slightly out of touch!

Here's the schedule currently...

Friday 18th November

Black - Any Colour You Like
DNCE - DNCE
Donna Summer – The Ultimate Collection
The Human League – Anthology: A Very British Synthesizer Group
Justice – Woman
Little Mix – TBA
Louisa Johnson – TBA
Metallica – Hardwired...To Self Destruct
Miranda Lambert - The Weight Of These Wings
Solange – A Seat At The Table

Friday 25th November

Gillian Welch - Boots No 1: The Official Revival Bootleg
Kate Bush - Before The Dawn
Lissie – Live At Union Chapel
Pete Tong with The Heritage Orchestra – Classic House
Rumer – This Girl's In Love: A Bacharach & David Songbook
The Weeknd – Starboy

The week after doesn't seem to have any big releases atm! Just the usual nana xmas gift sort of artists.

The only ones from this era are SOTME and F.U. The rest are leftovers from GW, Salute and DNA.

Amazon Japan said the album will be out on the 18th of November and a limited edition with a DVD on the 23rd!

Get weird tour DVD perhaps?? Interesting move

Posted by: Matt1989 13th October 2016, 09:30 AM

The girls have just confirmed that the new album is called Glory Days and will be available to pre-order from tomorrow. It will be release on 18 November and the Deluxe Edition will come with the tour DVD

Posted by: Joe. 13th October 2016, 09:35 AM

Britney's impact!

Love the artwork.

Posted by: Jonjo 13th October 2016, 09:36 AM

Love the name! But that date. I know his single is seen as under performing so far (but I imagine it'll be a huge number 1 eventually) but Bruno will slaughter everyone that week. drama.gif

Ah well. Here's to another high selling number 2... hopefully!

Posted by: shindymindy 13th October 2016, 09:37 AM

Glad we have some sort of confirmation now.

Posted by: Jonjo 13th October 2016, 09:43 AM

For the first time in a while, the standard cover is a better cover than the deluxe edition!

But I'll obvz be getting the deluxe! Lovely shot of them!

They are coming for their BRIT award.

It's weird to put an album pre-order up before we've heard any music...

Posted by: shindymindy 13th October 2016, 10:11 AM

Shows how big they are now - they can sell an album on name and hype alone.

Posted by: liamk97 13th October 2016, 11:12 AM

There's always a chance they'll climb to #1 in the New Year when, presumably, they'll have moved onto the next single.

Posted by: shindymindy 13th October 2016, 11:14 AM

I think they could beat Bruno to number 1 in the UK

Posted by: Hadji 13th October 2016, 11:19 AM

Little Mix probably won't get #1 album if they're releasing on the 18th November as they have Emeli Sandé and Bruno Mars standing in their way

The designers forgot to add the shadows that the billboard's legs would create, onto the standard cover!

I really like the covers. They look great and it's different for them

Posted by: Electro Paradise 13th October 2016, 04:45 PM

The pic they have chosen for the cover is lovely, everything the graphic designer has done has made it look really bad though. What a shame.

Looking forwards to hearing this album though.

I can't imagine the signed albums will be on sale for long!

Posted by: Matt1989 14th October 2016, 09:01 AM

No doubt the actual number of dates will be at least double that eventually. We've had so much in the last few days!

Posted by: Joe. 14th October 2016, 09:13 AM

Looks very unlikely we'll get another album next year then. Most probably a re-realase to go with the tour.

Posted by: shindymindy 14th October 2016, 09:18 AM

They will defo release extra dates in the UK. This tour is going to be bigger than the Get Weird tour

Album at number 1 and 8 on iTunes UK preorder bestsellers!!
Ahead of Gaga, James A, Bruno etc. Amazing

Posted by: Matt1989 14th October 2016, 12:57 PM

Not entirely surprised they're above Gaga but James is getting a lot of publicity right now with his comeback and Bruno seems to be on the music channels a lot right now so I'm pleasantly surprised they're above those two

Posted by: Joe. 14th October 2016, 01:04 PM

I would have been disappointed if they didn't go to #1 today on pres. I think it's all about how long they stay in the pre-orders top 3 until the album release now.

Yeah, that was my initial reaction too. About 18 months a go it would have seemed a bit more impressive but Meghan's latest album did badly worldwide, despite it spawning a couple of moderate sized hits.

Posted by: JosephStyles 14th October 2016, 06:23 PM

Meghan's still very popular in the US - NO was a top 3 hit and Me Too was big on iTunes also. She's still a big name so I think this could be great! I really like Meghan too so I'm very hyped for this.

Digital Spy interview:

QUOTE
1. 'Shout Out To My Ex' is the mischievous side of Little Mix

"It literally sounds like nothing on the radio right now, which is so exciting," Jesy Nelson tells us. "I feel like everything sounds the same at the moment. Ours is very different. It's very honest, it's very sassy, and it's just a naughtier side of Little Mix, which I like."

But in what way, Jesy?

"In the sense that we don't really give a shit and we just feel like it's about time people know the truth." (You can draw your own conclusions about who she's talking about.) "We love it as well because it's a song that every person can relate to. Everyone in the world has gone through heartbreak and a shitty experience, and when you hear this song, it doesn't make you feel sad, it makes you feel really good about yourself. It makes you think, 'Oh my god, I'm so much better without this person.' Every person needs that when they've had a break-up. There's not many songs like that."

2. But don't assume 'Shout Out To My Ex' is a reflection of what's to come

"I think it's completely different though," Leigh-Anne tells us. "The reason we love 'Shout Out To My Ex' so much is because it is a statement. With a Little Mix album, it's always very versatile."

That being said, after Get Weird, the girls knew exactly what they wanted to do next.

"After the Get Weird album we knew what sound we wanted to go with straight away, and it just kind of happened really naturally," Jesy says. "We wrote some songs, we've got some songs that were written for us and they just all fitted really well together. We just felt like there was no point in waiting around and we should just get it out." We couldn't agree more.

3. Little Mix's new album isn't just for teen girls, y'know

"You want to keep that success or better it," Jade tells us. "Get Weird was huge, but I think we're really confident with this album. I feel it can relate to even more people than Get Weird did – like boys or women. We're branching out from our usual target audience."

Jesy adds: "It's way more mature. There are more dance-y songs – ones that will get played in clubs, which is nice for us. It's just a new era of Little Mix." We are so ready.

4. Brace yourselves for all killer, no filler

While Jade promises that Little Mix's fourth studio album will be packed with "killer hooks" and "brilliant pop songs", Leigh-Anne goes one further by naming the thing they're most proud of on the collection: "There's this one song that I think our vocals are just, like, crazy."

"The only way is up – we've never really dipped. I feel like we've kept this progression, but we're still striving for more," Leigh says. "Hopefully this will be the album where we just go BAM! and explode. It's everything we want in life."

5. So c'mon then, who have they been working with?

The girls have teamed up with some old faves as well as some exciting global superstars for LM4. So Perrie, can you tell us who you've been in the studio with? "Iain James has done a bit, who we worked with for 'Wings' and 'DNA'," she reveals. "MNEK has done some production on some stuff, and we absolutely love him. Charlie Puth has wrote us a song. And Meghan Trainor has wrote us a song. It's been wonderful!"

But Leigh-Anne has something else to add: "Hopefully as well we're going to have some amazing features." Argh, you always tease us with this and never tell us who. "Oh we can't tell you, darlin'," she adds. Fingers crossed for that Nicki Minaj team-up…

Apparently, most of the songs are recovered from the LM3 that was scrapped... (People on Popjustice have worked this out by finding the registered tracks).

Posted by: Matt1989 24th October 2016, 08:23 AM

Interesting. Not entirely surprising given that the girls said scrapping the album was down to some tracks not really fitting rather than them not being good enough

I think it's more down to the fact they didn't fit GW rather than being bad.
Here's hoping they are good.

Posted by: Joe. 24th October 2016, 08:59 AM

Didn't Jesy say she cried because it was so bad?

Well their A&R seems to be reading pop forums.

Looking forward to hearing it on Friday.
Will it be on Spotify etc like a normal single would be?

This is #8 on the Amazon physicals chart, and #3 on iTunes pre-order chart behind two albums out in 2 days.

Posted by: shindymindy 26th October 2016, 09:06 AM

It is going to open with big numbers. Not just in the UK but worldwide.

Would love to know where this is on pre-order charts worldwide.

Posted by: Matt1989 26th October 2016, 01:08 PM

The fact it's Number 8 on the Amazon physicals chart before release bodes very well. By the way what were the opening numbers of the other albums? I can see this one being massive

Posted by: Joe. 26th October 2016, 01:20 PM

DNA: 53,314
Salute: 35,281
Get Weird: 60,053

Also consider the fact the album sales have considerably dropped since they released their debut.

I predict around 80k+ for them this time

Posted by: Matt1989 26th October 2016, 02:40 PM

I can definitely see Glory Days beating Get Weird's opening week sales. A single certified in 2/3 weeks and an album certified in a week? Great start to the era

Posted by: shindymindy 26th October 2016, 03:14 PM

I think 90k+ for Glory Days. Will be interesting to see how much it has sold in preorders.

Posted by: shindymindy 27th October 2016, 11:55 AM

You Gotta Not is now out in NZ and Oz - I like it, it's different.
Don't think we can post links though but it's all over Twitter.

Posted by: Matt1989 27th October 2016, 12:06 PM

I'm gonna attempt to resist temptation until it's out here

Posted by: Joe. 27th October 2016, 12:20 PM

i don't like it.

The girls are performing on CiN on album release day!

Posted by: MrLoverboy 27th October 2016, 12:27 PM

LOVED You Gotta Now. They sound so sassy on it. I think people are being incredibly harsh on it because it's the Meghan Trainor track.
But I really like it.

Posted by: shindymindy 27th October 2016, 12:29 PM

Same - I think it's quite fun

Posted by: Davidson 27th October 2016, 12:38 PM

Meh.

It is so childish. I honestly think all their new material is really derivative and wasting the potential these girls have.

But they ain't gonna switch it up if that's whats selling.

Posted by: Defaze 27th October 2016, 12:38 PM

I think it's pretty horrible, and I'm generally not opposed to Meghan Trainor at all. It just strikes me as a worse A.D.I.D.A.S, even if they're not thematically similar. Here's hoping the rest of the album is a lot stronger, because this feels very beneath them.

(It's actually got me less hyped for the album, which sort of defeats the purpose of an instant grat. Oops.)

Posted by: Joe. 27th October 2016, 12:40 PM

Well, we knew the Meghan collab was on the album, so at least it's out of the way first!

Posted by: caseclosed 27th October 2016, 01:14 PM

I had hopes it could be as good as NO.

Posted by: Matt1989 27th October 2016, 04:01 PM

I haven't heard the new song yet. Really pleased to hear they're performing on Children In Need, perfect timing too

Posted by: Juliano 27th October 2016, 04:19 PM

I like the sound of it to be honest, I think it suits them, to me it's very Meghan Trainor/Lily Allen collab esque.

Posted by: Jonjo 27th October 2016, 06:24 PM

30 seconds in and you can tell it's written by Meghan Trainor!

It's a lot more fun than I had imagined judging from everyone's reactions here. I can tell it's not gonna be one of my faves, but I like it enough! It's a nice album track. Hoping it doesn't randomly take off though and only serves it's purpose as an instant grat! laugh.gif

It's better than anything from Meghan's last album though (barring 'No', so yay).

Posted by: Cameron 27th October 2016, 06:27 PM

Yeah, this is Meghan by numbers laugh.gif

I do quite like it, it seems to me like one of those tracks that are used to recover from a monster of a song or introduce a massive banger

Posted by: Liаm 27th October 2016, 06:30 PM

It's nice enough but will probably be among the weakest of the album.

Posted by: Jonjo 27th October 2016, 06:34 PM

4th listen in and I am actually ADDICTED! mellow.gif

Incredibly infectious and catchy. Good luck getting this song out of your head for the next 3 months lmao! Love the bouncing production!

Posted by: Ryan. 27th October 2016, 07:11 PM

You Gotta Not is fantastic! It wouldn't work in a single, but I imagine it is going to be amongst the best of the album tracks. It has Meghan's 'Title' era stamp all over it, and as I've said in various places before, I adored the sound of the Title era - much more than I do Meghan's current sound.

Posted by: Juliano 27th October 2016, 10:30 PM

Actually loving it now I've heard the full version. Super catchy!

Why would they release it as an instant grat? Honestly can't get my head around it. Boy and Hair obviously got people more excited for the album, but this... eh. It scares me that they thought it was one of the highlights, hopefully it was just to add Meghan's name to the hype.

Posted by: Jonjo 27th October 2016, 11:26 PM

The way the production speeds up during Jade's verse is my favourite part of the song! Also, the middle 8 gives me 'Hair' vibes.

Glory Days fits the era, tho. They have never been bigger!

Doesn't surprise me he's gone top of pre-orders off the back of being on XF, but the girls will already have pretty big pre-order numbers. I just hope we don't end up with a Get Weird situation where LM get overtaken with a couple of days to go

Posted by: Joe. 31st October 2016, 09:29 PM

They've added the times for a load of the songs on the album on iTunes. So it'll be one of those for this week's IG. I hope we don't get them all though.

Posted by: Jonjo 2nd November 2016, 05:40 PM

'F.U.' is brilliant! So much sass and Liam is right in that it's a very dynamic version of 'Love On The Brain' by Rihanna. My least fave of the three so far, but it's still very good!

Posted by: Matt1989 2nd November 2016, 07:10 PM

Posted by: Juliano 2nd November 2016, 11:22 PM

Posted by: MrLoverboy 3rd November 2016, 01:13 AM

F.U. is absolutely stunning, one of their top tracks. So excited for this album

Posted by: Davidson 3rd November 2016, 01:19 AM

F.U. is way ahead of the two other tracks. Definitely my favourite of the era so far.

Kinda takes from where 'Love Me Like You' left off with the retro vibe. It's a sound that really suits them.

Posted by: Cameron 3rd November 2016, 03:11 PM

Ooooh, FU kind of reminds me of Love Me Like You's slow r&b sister. It has the same vibes and keeps that very vintage style

Posted by: PAJ88 3rd November 2016, 07:19 PM

Love F U. I agree it sounds like LMLY pt2, Could see a music video picking up where LMLY left off.

Also I get slight Cry Me Out (Pixie Lott) vibes from this, is it just me?

They've been really stable on amazon too, staying between 8 - 15 in the physicals chart since release. Bruno was #4 after X Factor but soon dropped out of the top 20.

Jonjo, I don't see the Carly resemblance at all in Nothing Else Matters, it sounds like a 1D song to me! I really like it though.

The album pre-order has fallen quite a bit on iTunes.
I know they are ahead (and have been most of the time) on Amazon. Just hope they can get number 1 with this album. It would be very well deserved.

Posted by: Joe. 11th November 2016, 11:24 AM

Their digital sales for the album last year were only like 20%, so I wouldn't worry. They're a physicals juggernaut, and amazon aside, loads will have bought from their store.

Posted by: shindymindy 11th November 2016, 11:36 AM

I hope so

Posted by: BigMixer 11th November 2016, 12:21 PM

Posted by: Joe. 11th November 2016, 12:59 PM

Despite loving everything else about Little Mix, I always found Get Weird could have been better.

I'm shocked at the singles potential here. Power, Touch, No More Sad Songs, Oops all sound potentially big. Given that the UK tour isn't for a year, I can see them stretching this to 5 singles. Unless they do 4 and a tour-tie in re-release.

Posted by: Serg Mix 11th November 2016, 02:58 PM

I expect them pulling 5 singles and no new album till 2018. Would love that with so many singles potential here.

You Gotta Not is a catchy bop and a great album track but I wouldn't have released it as an instant grat personally, if I was to compare it to Get Weird, I'd rank it in the middle of the album
F.U. is nice but that's about it at the moment

Posted by: mr_pmt 13th November 2016, 04:24 PM

Love 'Nothing Else Matters'.

'No More Sad Songs' sounds painfully generic and trend-hopping, and I feel that's a bit beneath them.

Yep, the pre-order is higher than new releases from Emeli Sande, Robbie Williams and Michael Buble.

We should hear Touch today.

EXCITED.

Posted by: BigMixer 14th November 2016, 12:52 PM

I did not expect the 1st verse of Touch to sound like that! Love the song, definitely single-worthy!

omg Floored!!!

it kind of sounds how All In My Head (Flex) should have

Posted by: Davidson 14th November 2016, 03:42 PM

'Touch' is really good but I wish the production went a bit harder.

It sounds like the production could be soooo good if it had more bass and a bit more oomph. It is just lacking a little something which is a shame as it sounds like it has potential to be one of their best singles ever.

By miles and away the best of the era though and it will do well as single 2.

Your love and FU.,are my favorites.

Posted by: Joe. 14th November 2016, 04:55 PM

Shout Out To My Ex 8.5/10 - Solid bop.
You Gotta Not 6/10 - Catchy, but unforgivable lyrical content.
F.U 5/10 - Nice vocally, but totally forgettable.
Nothing Else Matters 7/10 - Cute, not groundbreaking.
Touch 9.5/10 - The wigsnatcher.

Album is back to #2 on pre orders, overtaking Bruno. Now 95 might pip them to #1 on iTunes this week. it doesn't matter but it's annoyed they didn't manage that exposure last year because a bloody Coldplay pre order blocked them.

Posted by: Jonjo 14th November 2016, 10:35 PM

They'll be number 1 to begin with I think. But yeah, Now 95 will take over after like an hour or something.

But good news though is that they'll (hopefully) have 5 entries of 'Shout Out To My Ex' next week! Single, Acoustic (if this hasn't completely fallen away by that point), Standard, Deluxe and Now (providing they're not "Album Only" of course) so hopefully a nice sales boost for the song and a potential return to number 1? Especially with the promo they have coming up, right?

Posted by: Jonjo 15th November 2016, 08:11 AM

Just heard 'Touch'... I like it, but I feel it could get annoying v quickly! So I'm not going to hammer it as much as I did with the other grats sad.gif

Posted by: Joe. 16th November 2016, 12:03 PM

Down and Dirty is dated and disappointing.

Nobody like you is...nice. Lovely vocals.

Touch is everything, still.

Posted by: Matt1989 16th November 2016, 12:27 PM

Absolutely love Nobody Like You

Posted by: Liаm 16th November 2016, 12:57 PM

Nobody Like You is stunning wub.gif

I like Down and Dirty but I think it will get boring quickly compared to the other grats.

Posted by: Serg Mix 16th November 2016, 01:34 PM

Finally we're back!

I'm loving Nobody Like You more with each listen, the raw emotion in their voices, especially Leigh & Jesy is amazing! Not feeling Down & Dirty, but it'll grow I hope.

Posted by: Jonjo 16th November 2016, 01:38 PM

The only thing I dislike about Nobody Like You is the complete LACK of Jade! sad.gif she gets the ad-libs at the end and that's it? sad.gif In fact this whole era seems to have less Jade than usual... Although her parts in You Gotta Not and Nothing Else Matters are my faves!

But overall it's stunning. The raw emotion in Jesy's voice makes you wonder whether her and Jake's engagement ended during the recording of it!

Posted by: Juliano 16th November 2016, 01:59 PM

Like Nobody Like You, not their best ballad by far, but still a great addition. And WOW! Loving Down & Dirty, really reminds me of Dark Horse or Black Widow, werk!

It is, the "Baby" that Perrie sings can be heard subtly at the beginning of the Power preview on the Glory Days album sampler.

Gaaaaah Down and Dirty sounds like something from 2009, I don't know why they'd this was a good idea. It's not terrible, it's just dated.

I like the Game of Thrones shout though!

Down and Dirty seemed pretty cool on first listen, but Touch is still taking all of my attention so I've still only heard D&D once. kink.gif

Posted by: shindymindy 17th November 2016, 09:55 AM

Don't mind D&D - not my usual cup of tea though!

I hope they get the number 1 album this week - they have promo so that could help

Posted by: Joe. 17th November 2016, 11:11 AM

Overall album is...I don't know. I like, don't love it, YET. But that's just one listen. I'm not that girl who judges an album on one listen and never goes back to it. Of the songs we'd not heard Freak and No More Sad Songs are highlights and low-lights are Oops, Your Love and Beep Beep (the latter I skipped because it was so irritating). Power will almost certainly grow on me, but I find Perrie's initial verse a bit jarring.

Posted by: Serg Mix 17th November 2016, 12:06 PM

I find this very excellent. It's fun go to pop album and I like it!

Posted by: Joe. 17th November 2016, 01:15 PM

Power is so good! Jesy's rap and MOTORBIKE. SLAY.

Posted by: Davidson 17th November 2016, 02:40 PM

So here is my first listen rate:

07.5 Shout Out To My Ex
09.0 Touch (would be a 10.0 with better mixing)
08.0 F.U.
05.0 Oops (worried they'll make this a single)
04.0 You Gotta Not
01.0 Down & Dirty
06.0 Power (such a good chorus ruined by uncharacteristically terrible vocals, embarrassing "motorbike" shouts and it just being messy/loud as hell)
06.5 Your Love (lol at the way they just slowed Nicole's chorus down)
06.0 Nobody Like You
08.5 No More Sad Songs (thank god for the rise in quality)
07.0 Private Show (why is the mixing so bad on this album? so much potential there but the mixing is so demoish)
06.0 Nothing Else Matters
06.0 Beep Beep
08.0 Freak (yes, although some of the production choices are slightly strange, this one is undeniably good)
08.5 Touch (Acoustic)

I had hopes that this album would be better than 'Get Weird' which I was not here for at all and I really don't think it's any better than that. I haven't listened to 'Get Weird' properly for a good 9 months or so so I can actually remember whether I would put this below it. I just think I've got to accept that I am not really here for "teeny boppy" Little Mix with all these immature melodies and loud, brash and childish production choices. Gone are the days of having a reasonably mature album like 'Salute'. Maybe they just aren't that band anymore.

Wish them all the best and it is amazing the levels of success they are having, but I can't feel disappointed as this album just sounds like wasted artistic potential to me.

At least I got 'Touch'.

Posted by: Joe. 17th November 2016, 02:51 PM

Fair enough if you don't like the album, but I don't get the mixing comments on Touch, I think MNEK's production is great on the track!

(The leak out there at the moment is V LQ in terms of production).

Posted by: Cremey 17th November 2016, 02:59 PM

Can't get enough of 'Touch', really hope it's single two.

Posted by: Joe. 17th November 2016, 03:11 PM

09 Shout Out To My Ex - Pop banger
10 Touch - I am drooling thinking of the video/live performances
06 F.U. - Incredible vocally, but boring
6.5 Oops - A bit cringe, but I can see it being an earworm
07 You Gotta Not - Awful lyrics but incredibly infectious.
05 Down & Dirty - I feel like this wanted to be as good as Power, but just isn't.
09 Power - Bonkers, I love the Girls Aloud-esque off the cuff lyrics. Motorbike works for me.
07 Your Love
06 Nobody Like You
10 No More Sad Songs - Beautifully uplifting.
08 Private Show
08 Nothing Else Matters
00 Beep Beep - Keep it
08 Freak
8.5 Touch (Acoustic)

It's too late for a Christmassy single now, it'll be a single that runs through December/January/Febuary.

My singles run would be;

SOTME > Touch > Oops > No More Sad Songs

I'd like to say Power, but I'm not sure if it's too daring. I'm almost certain we'll either get a 5th single or a re-release this time round, given the timing of the tour.

I've listened to Down & Dirty twice now and it's quite bad. I'd expected that with the snippet to be fair, but still I'd hoped for something better. By far the worst song on the album I've heard so far.

Posted by: Liаm 17th November 2016, 07:57 PM

MOTORBIKE

Posted by: Taylor Jago 17th November 2016, 08:48 PM

I've found "No More Sad Songs" and "Private Show" on YouTube, and I'm loving the saxophone on the latter. So infectious!

That leaves "Oops", "Power", "Your Love" and the deluxe edition tracks which I'll hear tomorrow. But for what I've heard, with the notable exception of "Down & Dirty", everything is great.

Nervous and excited about the fight between themselves and Metallica!

They should release the Touch video this week. Though I have to say they could climb to #1 the week after.

Posted by: Jonjo 17th November 2016, 11:24 PM

Pretty sure Metallica will be quite a bit more front loaded than Little Mix. I was asking people today at work who they think will win the battle and the general consensus seemed to be that Metallica will win the first day, but as the week progresses, Little Mix will get the edge. (These are people who have worked for HMV for 10+ years)

Posted by: Cameron 18th November 2016, 12:22 AM

What does the chorus of Private Show sound like?

Posted by: Jonjo 18th November 2016, 12:35 AM

'Power' is amazing. Tbh, I'm actually really liking this album, alot! I think it's a lot more instant than 'Get Weird' for me. But that might just be down to 'Get Weird' kinda "setting me up" for it (if you get what I mean).

'Your Love' is very cute. Love the Caribbean feel to it! 'Down & Dirty' just keeps growing on me. 'Oops' with Charlie is nice enough, but it should've been used for Charlie's re-release over their own release though, imo. It fits his sound a lot more than LM's.

Posted by: RobBob 18th November 2016, 12:38 AM

POWER IS f***ING EVERYTHING

From the beginning with Perrie's vocals to the MOTOR BIKE BIKE BIKE BIKE

Help me.

If this isn't a single then something is wrong. Sorry, fangirling commencing MAJORLY right now, I haven't anticipated an album so much in a while, I swear.

Posted by: Jonjo 18th November 2016, 12:48 AM

'No More Sad Songs' would make a great single, for sure! I'd probably do the singles run like thissss...

01. Shout Out To My Ex
02. Touch feat. Ariana mad.gif
03. Power
04. No More Sad Songs (BGT/Summer)
05. Nobody Like You (X Factor/End Autumn single)

Posted by: Liаm 18th November 2016, 12:48 AM

First full listen rate:

11 Shout Out To My Ex (still the album highlight, that f***ing chorus *.*)
10 Touch (what a tune, this is gonna be a massive hit! It puts me in mind of what the follow up to Work From Home should've been for 5H)
09.5 F.U. (the vocals *.*)
08 Oops (I feel like this will be the single that I end up loving when they release it, but it's not my fave)
08 You Gotta Not (this has really grown on me, it's very fun but you can definitely Meghan wrote it!)
08.5 Down & Dirty (this is another grower, it's a bit basic but I am sucker for a bop like this)
10 Power (this is so Girls Aloud with attitude tackling Britney's Liar *.* MOTORBIKE MOTORBIKE)
06 Your Love (the definite low of the album, it's not horrendous it's just lacking a real chorus and doesn't go anywhere really, it just really pales especially coming after the dynamic punch of Power!)
09Nobody Like You (Love Me Or Leave Me teas but of course nowhere near as iconic)
10 No More Sad Songs (BOPPPPPPPP THIS HAS TO BE A SINGLE)
10 Private Show (omg J-Lo or Christina Milian would so release this in 2002, but it has that Little Mix mark in the powerful chorus and I am living for both of those things)
08.5 Nothing Else Matters (the chorus gives me Change Your Life teas, again a grower from when it was released as a grat)
07 Beep Beep (I think I will end up hating this but it's kind of "wtf is this oh well bop" for me atm laugh.gif)
07 Freak (what on earth are the dying Wall-E noises littered throughout rotf.gif)

Incredible album but I expected nothing less <3 Touch HAS to the second single then I'd have No More Sad Songs and Power definitely. Power may not work but it's so f***ing good. I'd love Private Show to get the treatment too, I think they'll probably go to 5 singles to coincide with the tour but I think maybe re-release.

Posted by: Serg Mix 18th November 2016, 12:49 AM

Tbh, Touch, Power, Private Show & NMSS are the best single choices.

Posted by: Juliano 18th November 2016, 12:50 AM

To me I feel like I spoiled the album too much because of hearing so many songs and the previews, however I feel this album is a great addition to their discography.

Shout Out To My Ex - Certified smash.
Touch - Upcoming certified smash.
F.U. - Beautiful and sassy.
Oops is nice! I still like it, but nothing amazing.
You Gotta Not is so catchy I haven't had it out of my head since I first heard it.
Down & Dirty as I always said is the love child of Dark Horse and Black Widow... the Little Mix version, and I love it.
POWER IS THE ONE!! Very K-Pop as well. Party!
I am surprised at Your Love being such a great track! The verses are better than the chorus.
Nobody Like You is a great Little Mix ballad, whilst definitely not their best, still beautiful and amazing. (As always)
No More Sad Songs is fighting for my favorite for best album track I think. Incredible!
Private Show, Yassss How You Doin'? point 2 times a million. Weeerrrk.
Nothing Else Matters - This just hit me the other day, definitely a sound I am happy they tried.
Beep Beep - She doesn't even go here! I can handle it. Love Jesy's verse, but that chorus is... well... let's stay positive.
Freak is a song I feel like I've heard somewhere before and I "kinda" like it. Ish.
Touch (Acoustic) makes me even more glad it will be next single.

Touch's acoustic version is only affirming my love even more and making it rival SOTME tbh

I already prefer Touch to SOTME tbh.

Posted by: UltraBasicWitch 18th November 2016, 01:03 AM

Easy contender for album of the year already, incredible!!

Think the 3 instant grats are probably my 3 least favourite on the album at this current time!

Posted by: UltraBasicWitch 18th November 2016, 01:10 AM

11.0 Shout Out To My Ex- Still incredible
10.0 'Touch' - Yh this is also slaying me so bloody much
07 'F.U.' - Solid but a bit dull
10.0 'Oops' (feat. Charlie Puth) - Unsurprisingly love this and Charlie's addition!
08.0 'You Gotta Not' - Good album track
08.0 'Down & Dirty' - Pretty good
10.0 'Power' - What an anthem, definite highlight!
08.0 'Your Love'- Really nice and relaxing!
10.0 'Nobody Like You' - Utterly stunning, reminds me a lot of Love Me Or Leave Me
10.0 'No More Sad Songs' - This also slays so much, wow!
10.0 'Private Show' - omfg this is so incredible and rly agree with all the comparisons!
07.0 'Nothing Else Matters' - Nice but a bit dull
10.0 'Beep Beep' - Massive anthem!
08.0 'Freak' - Bit of a jam
08.5 Touch (Acoustic) - So strong also!

So so impressed!!

I love it - such a cool album.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia 18th November 2016, 01:18 AM

Honestly love this album, Touch and No More Sad Songs are sticking out as my favourite two at the moment wub.gif

Posted by: RobBob 18th November 2016, 01:20 AM

I've finished the album and my existence has been slayed. Might be a bit early to say perhaps but their best album to date for me, not a single song I wouldn't wanna go back to even if it does have weaker moments (Your Love, Down and Dirty being the two that stick to mind).

Posted by: shindymindy 18th November 2016, 01:24 AM

#3 on Amazon, Metallica and Bruno still stuck at #6 & #7

Posted by: Juliano 18th November 2016, 01:34 AM

Now I am feeling the single campaign should be:

SOTME
Touch
Power (With that awesome music video with the ladies riding motorbikes just as the song promises... duh.)
No More Sad Songs

Posted by: Jonjo 18th November 2016, 01:56 AM

They're going to be doing the Today Show in America again on the 15th Dec! biggrin.gif

It really has to be this, doesn't it? They stand out so obviously as the four singles to me.

Posted by: caseclosed 18th November 2016, 02:12 AM

I think we all know Oops will be a single don't we? Would Power work on the radio though? The beginning is very loud... The ICONIC video potential though.

Posted by: RobBob 18th November 2016, 02:16 AM

I'd be quite excited to see them releasing something as bold, brash and risky as Power though. Nothing wrong with stepping out of the safe zone, I think it'd go down pretty well, I mean it was an instant reaction for me.

Posted by: caseclosed 18th November 2016, 02:31 AM

same here, but I have to say NMSS is absolutely fantastic, they MUST release it as a single.

Posted by: JosephStyles 18th November 2016, 02:32 AM

Touch makes me want to both dance and cry all night with its respective versions, what a song.

Posted by: Matt1989 18th November 2016, 06:08 AM

They talked about wanting to top Get Weird and they definitely did that, what an album! With the reaction it's already getting I'd be amazed if Power isn't a single

I feel like we'll a singles run like this but Oops instead of Power. I'm not 100% Power would work as a single but I'd love a video for it...and...just imagine what it'll be like on tour...

This album is mostly terrible sad.gif

I like Touch, Power and No More Sad Songs and that's it.

Posted by: MrLoverboy 18th November 2016, 11:30 AM

Amazing: Shout Out To My Ex, Touch, F.U., Your Love, No More Sad Songs
Great: You Gotta Not (not the lyrics though), Power, Private Show, Beep Beep
Good: Nobody Like You, Nothing Else Matters, Freak
Eh: Oops
Awful: Down & Dirty

As an album it is a bit weird, but I think it's a great collection of songs.

Posted by: Adam Vickers 18th November 2016, 11:46 AM

I actually love 'Oops'. I can see it working as a Christmas remix.

Posted by: tomwright123 18th November 2016, 11:48 AM

Just been to buy my copy at the HMV in Liverpool One, and as well as Glory Days being opposite you when you walk in from both entrances, they were playing the album, as well as: DNA, Salute and Get Weird being on a special promotion 2 for £10! So a very good start to the release week!

Posted by: Jonjo 18th November 2016, 12:01 PM

I think 'Freak' is my least favourite however, Leigh's aggressive middle 8 is one of the absolute highlights of the album! *.*

Posted by: Matt1989 18th November 2016, 12:04 PM

My faves on Glory Days are Touch, Power, Nobody Like You, Private Show and Nothing Else Matters. Tbh even the songs I wasn't sure of when I first heard them sound better in the context of the whole album

Posted by: Liаm 18th November 2016, 12:05 PM

Freak would be much better if it didn't have the random dying Wall-E noises rotf.gif

my faves

- Shout out to my Ex

- Oops
- Power
- No More Sad Songs
- Freak

bolded ones deserve single treatment.

This is already their best album for me wub.gif Joining Girls Aloud and One Direction in peaking on album 4 quality-wise??

10.0 Shout Out to My Ex
11.0 Touch (possibly premature to say I prefer this to SOTME but it is literally slaying me from every angle right now)
08.5 F.U.
10.0 Oops (feat. Charlie Puth)
09.5 You Gotta Not
07.5 Down & Dirty
09.0 Power
06.5 Your Love
07.0 Nobody Like You
09.5 No More Sad Songs
09.0 Private Show
07.5 Nothing Else Matters

05.0 Beep Beep
07.0 Freak (feel like this doesn't quite reach its potential?)

Posted by: Catherine91 18th November 2016, 03:34 PM

Had my CD delivered by Amazon this morning and I've listened to the full album once. I think it's better than Get Weird (especially in terms of the production) and possibly DNA too. I found the second half of the album more enjoyable than the first half.

Posted by: Cameron 18th November 2016, 03:44 PM

10.0 'Shout Out To My Ex'

Posted by: Taylor Jago 18th November 2016, 06:36 PM

10 Shout Out To My Ex
10 Touch
09 F.U.
07.5 Oops
09.5 You Gotta Not
01.5 Down & Dirty
09 Power
08.5 Your Love
10 Nobody Like You
09.5 No More Sad Songs
10 Private Show
11 Nothing Else Matters
06.5 Beep Beep
07.5 Freak
07 Touch (Acoustic)

I might get the standard actually. The deluxe tracks aren't that good, and to end the album on Nothing Else Matters is far more euphoric.

I agree with what was said about 'Touch' re: the mixing and production, it sounds unfinished. wacko.gif

I love Beep Beep too! The chorus is the only things ok-ish for me, but the verses, Leigh-Anne's moaning middle-8 and Perrie talking in the end are all amazing moments.

Posted by: Jonjo 18th November 2016, 11:13 PM

'Beep Beep' is growing on me! It's far too infectious and fun to just completely ignore it!

Posted by: caseclosed 18th November 2016, 11:15 PM

Beep Beep will go off live, as will Power.

Posted by: Jonjo 18th November 2016, 11:43 PM

Ok. Perrie's video of her dancing and miming along to 'Power' is actually slaying me. It would 100% work as a single, I think they'd make it work, just like they did with 'Hair' and 'How Ya Doin'?' tbh.

FFS. 18.11.2016 is going down as the single greatest day of the year for me!!!! My faves knocking me down just as I recover again!!!!!!

Posted by: Joe. 19th November 2016, 12:39 AM

I really want them to squeeze 5 singles from this.

I think it's going to be SOTME > Touch > Oops firstly. I'm not a big fan of Oops, but I can see why it'd do well as a single.

But I want No More Sad Songs and Power both as singles. Firstly, I think the former could be a massive hit for them, it has the euphoric boppy charm of Call The Shots. And for the latter, power I think it would make a great 5th single, becuase it's a more risky single and wouldn't matter about underperforming as much at the back of the campaign. I selfishly want it as a single because a video and TV performances would be AMAZING. So.... SOTME > Touch > Oops > No More Sad Songs > Power. They've never had this much singles potential on an album before!

Praying Mint Royale brings good news tomorrow! (With sales)

Posted by: Serg Mix 19th November 2016, 12:47 AM

Hmmm, streams on Spotify show that most people streamed Oops and Power, probably because it's earlier on the album as Freak and Beep Beep are the least. Still they have less numbers than Bruno & Metallica

Posted by: shindymindy 19th November 2016, 11:42 AM

Some info from Minty:

Someone asked if Little Mix had done over 25k, and he said yes. Though it's not clear how much more. Could be 15k more, could be 2k more.
Bruno is miles behind apparently.

Posted by: shindymindy 19th November 2016, 11:43 AM

I reckon they will sell around 80k this week.
Would have loved over 100k but I'm not sure.

Will sell at least 400k by Christmas though

Posted by: BrookeOlivia 19th November 2016, 11:54 AM

If Bruno is miles behind its going to be out of Metallica & Little Mix, Looking forward to Monday to see how big there lead is and stuff will know by then if they will be able to hold on. I think they will do it though I see Metallica being more frontloaded than little mix to be honest.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia 19th November 2016, 12:54 PM

Little Mix are currently on Radio 2 doing interview and "No More Sad Songs" from the album was given a play.

Posted by: UltraBasicWitch 19th November 2016, 01:35 PM

I think Power is already in my top 3 LM tracks ever (and its quickly chasing Move!), I literally haven't listened to anything else since yesterday 😂

Posted by: BrookeOlivia 19th November 2016, 01:56 PM

Oops also got a play on Radio 2 before the interview (I miss that part just seen it on Digital Spy) so Oops and No More Sad Songs and interview.

Am I the only one who thinks you can really tell they rushed this album? I mean, it's not bad or anything but still.

I get it though, they wanted to keep momentum and they had serious time constraints... I'm amazed they managed to fit it in with the whirlwind year they had.

Like with Salute and Get Weird, you can tell so much more effort went into those.

I think it suffers from being a bit uncohsive and random but Get Weird is generally not well regarded and called rushed and I think it's better than that one.

That's the one thing I've always had with Get Weird, it was really uncohesive and all over the place but had plenty of strong stuff on there. I dunno, I just feel this is all a bit "will this do?"

Posted by: shindymindy 19th November 2016, 04:04 PM

I think this has more big moments.
It's a great collection of songs - there's no real sound they are going for though. It will please quite a few different people due to the different sounding songs.

Posted by: Liаm 19th November 2016, 04:08 PM

I think it's too early to compare to Get Weird but I think I will prefer this in time. The only real dud on this is Your Love, whereas on Get Weird I can take or leave 3 or 4 of the tracks. Not even Touch or SOTME or Power can touch Black Magic and Secret Love Song though, but then they're probably my top 2 Little Mix songs <3

Posted by: Mateja 19th November 2016, 04:30 PM

I think "Glory Days" is their best album so far. There is no doubt it had to be done rather quickly while promoting and touring "Get Weird", but it all can be done when you are the priority for your label and management. The girls also had some luck with collaborators, songs that were submitted to them and they had loads of inspiration themselves. When all that clicks, you can make a great album in a short period of time. If nothing really clicks, you can work on an album for a long time and still end up with mediocre product.

Posted by: robbiesglory 19th November 2016, 04:39 PM

Apparently Charlie has confirmed that Oops will be a single in an interview with Fan2 in France. I'm excited biggrin.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 19th November 2016, 07:50 PM

'Your Love' is hitting me pretty strongly atm. Really liking how mellow it is for a Reggae-infused pop song!

Posted by: Ryan. 19th November 2016, 08:01 PM

I agree with the feeling that it feels a bit rushed and all over the place, but there are a few strong tracks amongst the collection. These mainly include Shout Out, Oops, Touch, Your Love and most importantly No More Sad Songs which is surely the biggest smash on the album aside from the first 2 tracks. I'm not sure it's really "tropical house" either, as it is basically the exact same as Don't Let Me Down in places and I wouldn't have called that tropical house.

Posted by: mr_pmt 19th November 2016, 08:20 PM

'Nothing Else Matters' is a big standout for me, but it sounds like whoever is behind it couldn't spend more time writing better lyrics (which is what I mean when it sounds rushed, with a lot of songs it sounds like they were written in 5 minutes or on others they couldn't be bothered to polish the production properly). sad.gif

No More Sad Songs, Power, Touch and FU are the only singles I'd want

Posted by: BigMixer 19th November 2016, 11:31 PM

- Touch
- Oops
- No More Sad Songs

we can all agree on these 4 songs being singles.

I really want a 5th single, even if it flops and let's face it - LM are huge now, so any single will reach top 40 even in the worst case scenario.
