Hopefully all of the relegated teams stay in the Championship by the end of the season but you just know Norwich will make an immediate return like they always do. Maybe Reading will get relegated to League One as they were fortunate to survive relegation last season due to Derby County's points deduction.

Two Sheffield United players have been summonsed to appear in court over violence at the Championship play-off semi-final against Nottingham Forest.

Trouble flared after fans invaded the pitch when the Blades lost a penalty shoot-out at the City Ground on 17 May.

Nottinghamshire Police said Oli McBurnie, 26, and Rhian Brewster, 22, would be charged with common assault.

The players are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 28 July.

Will certainly be interesting to see whether Norwich can bounce back up again as they did when they were in this situation a couple of years ago! Hoping to see some teams with less Premier League experience fighting it out at the top this year.

West Brom gave a loan of £4.95m to a company owned by chairman and owner Guochuan Lai to help it through the coronavirus pandemic.

The details of the loan are contained in West Brom's accounts to June 2021, released on Thursday.

Lai says he will return the money, with £50,000 interest, by 31 December 2022 after the initial repayment date was moved from 15 September.

I see Reading have Scott Dann, Junior Holliet, Shane Long, Tom Ince and Jeff Hendrick. If this was 2011/12 season they would be some force!

Dara O'Shea has signed a new deal at West Brom which will see him stay at the club until the summer of 2025.

The 23-year-old Albion academy product made his first-team debut in 2019 and has gone on to make 66 appearances for the club.

The defender's performances have also earned him 12 international caps for Republic of Ireland and he cannot wait for the new season to begin.

Well Vincent Kompany has Burnley playing in a very un-Burnley like way in their 0-1 victory over Huddersfield in tonight’s opening game of the Championship season.

So tomorrow's game at Coventry is off.
Big shame for the supporters that have booked transport and those that have gone for the weekend but I have to concede that player's safety must come first.

Stoke City have sacked manager Michael O'Neill after a poor start to the Championship season, having won just once in five games.

The 53-year-old was appointed by the Potters in November 2019, replacing Nathan Jones.

The former Northern Ireland boss is the first manager to be sacked in the Championship this campaign.

Stoke City have been permission to speak to Sunderland boss Alex Neil.

Stoke sacked Michael O'Neill yesterday, and Neil's stock is high following a terrific six months at Sunderland where he gained promotion to the Championship.

Sunderland have not given up on keeping Neil, and are having conversations with their manager internally.

This story has developed rather quickly. Alex Neil has become Stoke City's new manager.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62700286

Prior to this confirmation, Dean Holden (the interim boss) has left Stoke City.

Speaking of Stoke, it was good to see them get the win over Blackburn this weekend! Feels like they've been struggling a bit to get going so hopefully this plus the change of management will increase the morale a bit.

Strange of Neil to leave Sunderland as they are they bigger club and he’s clearly got a good dressing room mentality there after promotion but may be Stoke offered £ for players!

West Bromwich Albion have signed Australia midfielder Tom Rogic following his departure from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

The 29-year-old has joined the Baggies on a one-year deal.

Rogic won 16 major honours during his time in Glasgow and has earned 53 caps for Australia.
