I don't think there will be much change towards the top of the table compared to last season but I can not see anything other than City retaining the title and I don't think it will even be close this time, Arsenal have made some really good and smart signings and I think this could make the difference for getting the last Champions League place. Everton will surely not be as bad as they were last season, I would back Nottingham Forest to stay up but they will be the only newly promoted team to survive relegation imo. Fulham will take their annual trip up and down the escalator between the Premier League and The Championship.

The wildest prediction I've got here is Southampton getting relegated which could easily not come to pass but they're starting to be like teams such as Wigan, Sunderland and most recently Burnley in the past who get close to the barrier of relegation numerous times without actually falling underneath it, eventually those teams do get what is coming to them and this might be the season for Southampton which is also why I've gone for Ralph Hasenhüttl to get sacked first.

3 out of 20 for me. Another poor showing laugh.gif

What I've noticed is that 9th place seems to be the "over-achievers" position. In some of the last few seasons the team that has finished there wouldn't have been expected to be there before the season started. That will be something to watch out for at the end of the season to see if that continues.

2012/13: Swansea
2016/17: Bournemouth
2019/20: Sheffield United
2020/21: Leeds
2021/22: Brighton

In 2013/14, 2014/15 & 2015/16: Stoke had 3 9th place finishes in a row which probably might have been expected by the 2nd or 3rd season but thinking about it in the context of now it seems strange how consistent they were.

Brentford can now be added to this and you would say that they definitely exceeded expectations by finishing 9th.

1. Liverpool [think they just have the edge over City at the moment and to prevent them winning 3 in a row once again]
2. City [sold some key squad players and don't think Haaland will hit the ground running, still a chasm back to 3rd]
3. Spurs [seem the most settled of the rest of the big 6 and Conte has a very good league record]
4. Chelsea [seem somewhat in disarray but since it's Chelsea they always get their act together in time to finish top 4]
5. Man United [surely can't be worse than last season but a lot depends on the Ronaldo situation]
6. Arsenal [on paper look good and made shrewd signings however they now have to contend with european football again]
7. Newcastle [form team at the end of last season and no european football, a few more singings in January and 7th should be theirs]
8. West Ham [another good season but with that pesky conference league causing a few hangover Sundays]
9. Leicester [pretty boring season I expect by their standards, need to replace Vardy's goals who won't go on forever]
10. Palace [another impressive season I reckon under Viera, they still have a good array of attacking players despite losing Gallagher]
11. Villa [solid and steady first full season under Stevie G, late push for top half]
12. Brighton [a little comedown on the highs of last season but comfortably clear of danger]
13. Wolves [they had a rough second half of last season but expecting big things from Neto & Podence to nick the odd game]
14. Everton [could be a risk placing them this high tbh but I can't see them being as bad, not that 14th is anything to shout about anyway]
15. Leeds [another relegation scrap for them, Marsch will be binned and they'll bring in a serial relegation dogfighter to steer them from danger]
16. Forest [they could definitely finish higher but they need all their new signings to instantly click, should have enough to survive either way]
17. Brentford [the ol' second season syndrome which has been evident many seasons now, they've lost Eriksen too who basically saved them last season]
18. Southampton [in agreement with above that they've been sleepwalking towards relegation for a few seasons now and this is one season too many]
19. Fulham [Silva first to get sacked I think but they'll bring in someone even worse and will be far too overly reliant on Mitrovic]
20. Bournemouth [Parker is an overrated manager and Solanke is shite, they could get cut adrift from the rest]

Points total for the champions: 95
Top scorer: Salah
Player of the year: Salah
First manager to get sacked: Marco Silva

As a bonus I'm also gonna say all of these managers will get sacked/replaced during the season: Silva, Parker, Hassenhuttl, Frank, Marsch, Lampard, Lage, Rodgers & Tuchel.

Hopeless as always laugh.gif I got 2 positions right at least (Wolves & Forest) but nada for the rest. I also managed to pick one of the only managers to not lose his job as first to be sacked too!

Imagine saying Haaland wouldn't hit the ground running... more like sprinting!

I didn't get too many wildly wrong. Chelsea, Fulham & Leicester whom most people would never have got spot on.
