• Pre-season managerial changes have already occurred at Luton Town and Queens Park Rangers. West Bromwich Albion, Middlesbrough and Swansea City are currently looking for a new manager.

Any early predictions?
Slaven Bilic has been appointed new West Brom Head Coach on a two-year deal.
Swansea City have named England Under-17 World Cup-winning boss Steve Cooper as their new head coach on a three-year deal.
Why are Brentford 7th favourites?
Middlesbrough have named Jonathan Woodgate as their new head coach on a three-year deal.
I love those odds but somehow we'll still end up missing out!

Birmingham have announced that Pep Clotet will be caretaker head coach following the departure of Garry Monk, and the club are not actively seeking another manager at this time.
Hull City have appointed Doncaster Rovers manager Grant McCann as their new boss on a 12-month rolling deal.
The Championship side had been without a manager since 8 June, with Nigel Adkins failing to agree a new contract.
Steve Bruce has resigned as head coach of Sheffield Wednesday amid reports he is due to be named as manager of Newcastle United.
Bruce was only appointed in January and did not actually take over for another month, guiding the Owls to a 12th-place finish in the Championship.
Huddersfield Town have revealed their new kit - without the diagonal sponsor's logo that was worn in Wednesday's friendly against Rochdale.
The original kit, which had the name of a bookmaker splashed across it, was believed to be a spoof when unveiled.
Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri has been banned for six matches and fined £25,000 after being found guilty of using racist language.
Forestieri says he will contest the decision of the Football Association's independent regulatory commission.
In March, the 29-year-old was acquitted of racially aggravated harassment and using threatening words or behaviour towards Mansfield's Krystian Pearce.
Just want to say that first game of the season last night was a cracker
Luton 3 Boro 3
It was indeed!
Also a surprise in today's games, Fulham lost to Barnsley!
Ooh have we started already? Let's hope Leeds do a tiny bit better this season.
A good start for Leeds then! Let's see how long we keep this up.
Nathan Jones at Stoke must already be under pressure after today's 4-1 defeat at Charlton!
Is it ok for us to do our Champinship predictions in here @Mack?
Huddersfield have sacked Jan Siewert after tonight’s 2-1 defeat at home to Fulham.
Middlesborough could go straight down if they stick with Woodgate but he will be gone by Xmas if things go on like this.
Brentford bottom is a very bold pick. I can't imagine any scenario where they'd be anywhere near a relegation battle.
Siewart had done nothing at all in 8 months to suggest he's a competent manager. They've been just as bad in this division as they were last season.
They've spent years successfully replacing their best players, don't see why that'd stop, especially as they're now shopping from a more proven lower risk pool of players. Jansson hardly a downgrade on Konsa, signed a more consistent keeper and the likes of Mbuemo, Valencia and the two Dane's are really highly rated
Autos: Leeds, Fulham
Top 6 contenders: Brentford, Cardiff, WBA, Stoke, Forest, Bristol City
Comfortable Mid-Table: Blackburn, Derby, Swansea, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston, Barnsley
Lower Mid-Table: Reading, QPR, Hull, Middlesbrough, Huddersfield, Charlton
Bottom 3: Birmingham, Luton, Wigan
Maybe have to rethink my Cardiff prediction lol
Leeds played some scintillating stuff as they beat crisis club Stoke City 0-3 yesterday!
Not sure what was funnier yesterday, Harry Arter's dive or Scott Parker's defence of it.
Sheffield Wednesday have appointed former Leeds United and Swansea City boss Garry Monk as their new manager.
The Owls, who are 11th in the Championship table, have not disclosed the length of Monk's contract.
The 40-year-old ex-defender has been out of work since being sacked by Birmingham City in June after 15 months in charge.
Huddersfield have appointed Danny Cowley as their new first team manager.
It’s going to be very interesting to see how the Cowleys do at Huddersfield as they have undoubtedly done an amazing job at Lincoln.
Indeed interesting appointment!
Leeds' Jordan Stevens has been banned from all football-related activity for six weeks for breaking Football Association betting rules, a punishment his club has called "disproportionate".
The midfielder, 19, admitted a charge of placing 59 bets last season, five on matches involving the Whites.
Stevens will be suspended until 10 October and has also been fined £1,200.
Don't think I've seen a team dominate as much as Leeds yday and yet Derby equalised in the last minute!
I do wonder if it'll be more of the same this season for Leeds?
Two of Derby's players drive home pissed after a night out and crash, causing the club captain to injure himself for the rest of the season. Great to see them in chaos and glad no one innocent was hurt.
At least they've got Wayne Rooney arriving soon to inject some moral standards into the club.
We all know about Wayne Rooney's moral standards and his very public private life.
This certainly doesn't make for great viewing or reading as well:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-7509579/Mason-Bennett-filmed-throwing-new-Derby-captain-Tom-Huddlestone-just-hours-crashing.html
Neil Harris has stepped down as manager of Millwall after more than four years in charge.
Can't see Woodgate staying at Middlesbrough much longer following that defeat against Birmingham City.
Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett have been fined six weeks' wages by Derby County after the Rams pair were charged with drink-driving.
Lawrence, 25, and Bennett, 23, were arrested after a crash in the city on 24 September and are due to appear in court on 15 October.
The Championship club have also ordered the pair to serve 80 hours of community service and rehabilitation.
Derby said the fine was the maximum their contracts allowed.
Barnsley have parted company with head coach Daniel Stendel following a run of 10 Championship games without a win.
The 45-year-old German took charge at Oakwell in June 2018 and led the Tykes to promotion from League One in his first season in English football.
The Barnsley manager deserved better, do they honestly think they have the budget to be competing near the top 10?
You would have realistically thought their aim was to avoid relegation.
Reading manager sacked apparently
Stendel has been massively f***ed over. I know they have a Brentford-type model but you can't sell the keeper, both centre halves and centre forward of a title winning team and expect to compete when you're strategy is to sign untapped potential. I did still think he'd have them better than they are, but he's a good coach that will go on to do good things.
Disgraceful after how well they did last year!
Mark Hughes to Reading apparently lmao

Millwall future at the Den secured.

Millwall has appointed Gary Rowlett as their new manager.
West Bromwich Albion had to come from 2-0 down at The Hawthorns to claim a draw against bottom club Barnsley and they remain top of the Championship.
Derby County have sacked captain Richard Keogh for gross misconduct over his involvement in a crash that led to the arrest of two of his team-mates.
And what about Lawerence and Bennett?
I am rather surprised as Keogh was a casualty in this incident, not the actual perpetrator.
In other news, Stoke have sacked Nathan Jones. Not surprising, just surprised it didn't happen earlier.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49428903
It's all about money, he's only got 18 months left on his contract and is out for 14 months.
What a load of shite. A w*** result and performance
JOHNSON OUT
Gosh that's all a bit worrying about Keogh. Of course he shouldn't have been involved in the crash in the first place but just reading articles now that this could signal bad news for older players on higher wages.
Michael O'Neill has been appointed as manager of Stoke City but will take charge of Northern Ireland for any potential Euro 2020 play-off games.
Cardiff City have parted company with Neil Warnock after three years in charge.
Cardiff City appoint Neil Harris as their new manager.
Leeds back at the top of the table right where they should be Watch a repeat of last season happen now though...
Leeds United moved top of the Championship as two goals in the last 20 minutes saw them edge past Hull City for a seventh straight league victory.
Wonder if Leeds will have the energy to go all the way this season!?
Let's hope so, it would be brill to see Leeds in the Prem for the first time in a while! There's always the worry that we'll end up with a repeat of last season though.
Typical Bristol City, beat Fulham away then lose two consecutive home games against Millwall and Blackburn
JOHNSON OUT
Yeh I think he's too inconsistent to get you up perhaps? But yous could also fall away to league one if yous chose the wrong manager.
Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper has been charged by the Football Association over comments he made after a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers on 11 December.
Stoke managing to edge their way out of relegation with 2 goals in stoppage time - let's hope they can keep that form up!
Good end to the game, they've got O'Neil's spirit.
Genuinely thought I was hallucinating when I saw the Leeds/Birmingham result yesterday Birmingham were certainly good at equalizing but glad we finally came out on top.
Was a crazy game.
Ashley Fletcher scored a stunning goal to beat West Brom too and now Leeds and West Brom meet on Thursday - can't wait for that!
After rather a long wait, Birmingham City confirmed Pep Clotet as permanent boss at the beginning of December...
Much appreciated the manager updates, Flatcap thanks.
The BMW combination zooming ahead for Brentford.
And I thought they'd go down at the start of the season, would love to see them beat WBA into the top division.
Aaand now the downfall begins. Looking like a repeat of last year now yay.
Birmingham City recovered from conceding a goal after 40 seconds to win at Ashton Gate and end Bristol City's four-game winning run by winning 3-1.
There's only 6 points separating the top seven teams! Anything could happen here.
Leeds are kings of bottling it
I have to admit they are. Would love Brentford to sneak into the top 2!
West Bromwich Albion extended their lead at the top of the Championship to six points by beating Reading 2-1.
Hull City and Swansea City had to be content with a point apiece as a remarkable Championship encounter ended 4-4.
Hull snatched a draw through Tom Eaves' 95th-minute goal, dashing Swansea's hopes of claiming a memorable comeback win in the process.
Watched it, cracking game. The forest West Brom game was just as good this afternoon too!
Leeds were legit the only team in the top half not to f*** up today, this league is seriously incredible
It seems like The Championship never fails to bring excitement! At least a quarter of the teams in this league would probably do a better job in the top flight than the current mid-lower table Premier League teams.
Well that is what you get with one of the most competitive leagues in Europe.
West Bromwich Albion striker Charlie Austin has been formally warned by the Football Association in relation to recent social media activity.
Austin appeared to criticise fans of former club Southampton but, having been asked to explain his comments by the FA, he will face no further action.
Barnsley have been fined £20,000 and told to implement an action plan after some of their fans directed sectarian abuse at Stoke's James McClean.
The incident happened in a Championship game between the sides on 9 November.
Barnsley admitted failing to ensure their fans behaved in an orderly fashion and refrained from using abusive language.
The abuse was aimed at McClean because he does not wear a poppy on his shirt for games around Remembrance Day.
Another 1-0 win to Leeds, there is still hope although a result like that is hardly convincing...
Some goal for Ollie Watkins vs Blackburn!
Leeds United moved back to within four points of Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion as Mateusz Klich's strike earned victory over lowly Middlesbrough at the Riverside.
Klich guided a fine shot in off the far post in first-half injury time moments after Pablo Hernandez's low effort came back off the upright.
Hull City striker Tom Eaves will miss the rest of the Championship season after injuring ankle ligaments.
The 28-year-old was hurt in the second half of the Tigers' 2-1 defeat at Preston North End on Saturday.
"He's a big loss and, as I said after the game, it was a horrendous tackle on him," head coach Grant McCann said.
"He's torn a couple of ligaments
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/top-scorers
Interesting only 2 players from the top 2 in this list - Bamford (12) and Robson Kanu (10).
And at half time against Hull, Leeds are... 1-0 up. There seems to be a recurring theme here, I just can't put my finger on it...
Edit: Okay we ended up winning 4-0, the curse is broken
Played scintillating football!
Leeds are so close to the Premier League. Surely they can't mess it up now.
The English Football League will appeal against the decision of an independent disciplinary commission to clear Birmingham City of a misconduct charge.
The charge, which was in relation to an alleged breach of an agreed business plan, was brought against the club in January but dismissed last month.
However, the EFL has exercised its right to an appeal.
Birmingham were deducted nine points last season for breaching the EFL's profitability and sustainability rules.
Luton Town have parted company with manager Graeme Jones after just under a year in charge at Kenilworth Road.
The former Everton, Wigan and West Brom assistant, 50, has had his contract terminated "by mutual agreement".
The Hatters said the decision was "in order to reduce its cost base".
Derby County players and staff have agreed to take wage deferrals amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Championship side has not revealed how big a percentage of wages are being deferred but said it was "considerably more than has been reported".
Blackburn Rovers players and the senior management team have agreed "significant" salary deferrals in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
The first team, executives and senior football management team will defer between a third and a half of monthly salaries between 1 April and 30 June.
Championship clubs hope to gain government clearance for a 25 May return to regular training, as part of plans to resume the 2019-20 season.
It is understood a target restart of 6 June has been discussed but clubs still anticipate a more likely 13 June date, in line with the Premier League.
All 24 clubs held a conference call on Wednesday, after an EFL board meeting.
Hull City say they are "disappointed" that a club letter reportedly opposing the resumption of the Championship campaign has been leaked.
The Telegraph reports Tigers vice-chairman Ehab Allam had called for the season to be voided.
Hull said the correspondence was "intended to remain
Clubs will still be promoted and relegated from the three divisions of the English Football League if seasons are ended amid the coronavirus crisis.
Play-offs will also be played, but with no more than four teams.
The EFL has confirmed that 51% of Championship, League One and League Two clubs need to agree for the campaign in each division to be curtailed.
This could pave the way for the League One season to be cancelled, with teams currently split over a resolution.
Players at Championship clubs were allowed to return to training on Monday - the first step towards the potential resumption of the second-tier season.
On Friday, the English Football League provided safety protocols and guidance for clubs to follow upon their return.
Players took part in non-contact sessions and trained in small groups.
A total of 1,014 Championship players and staff were tested for coronavirus towards the end of last week, with two people testing positive.
Reading's first-team players are to defer "a substantial percentage" of their wages for three months to help the club deal with the financial fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.
Manager Mark Bowen agreed to a similar salary deferral in April.
The Championship season is set to resume on 20 June, more than three months after it was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The EFL said the date was "provisional" and "subject to the strict proviso that all safety requirements and government guidance is met".
There are 108 matches remaining, plus the play-off semi-finals and final.
As long as Leeds keep the momentum they had before all this started I'll be happy.
The rest will have done them the world of good with Bieslas style!
Season-ticket holders at Championship clubs will be able to watch their team's remaining regular-season games online, the EFL has announced.
Access, via the iFollow service, will be determined by the club with which the supporter holds the season ticket.
It "may be in lieu of a refund or part of a wider package as determined by each individual club".
The arrangement includes any of the 30 regular-season games involving their club being shown by Sky Sports.
None of the remaining 108 games will be shown on free-to-air television, while watching a stream of an individual Championship fixture via iFollow will cost a non-season ticket holder £10.
Pep Clotet will leave his position as Birmingham City head coach at the end of the season.
The Spaniard, 43, has been allowed to leave the Championship club to "explore other coaching opportunities".

Stoke City manager Michael O'Neill has tested positive for Covid-19 after the latest round of testing on Monday.
Matty Fryatt is suing Nottingham Forest after he claims the club mismanaged the injury which ended his career.
He did spend the vast majority of his career here injured and didn't really do anything afterwards. It wouldn't surprise me that much unfortunately if there was something that was the clubs fault.
Businessman Paul Elliott is the new owner and chairman of Charlton Athletic after his consortium completed their takeover of East Street Investments.
ESI bought the Addicks from previous owner Roland Duchatelet in January.
Tahnoon Nimer and Matt Southall, who were at the forefront of that deal, later fell out and they will no longer be involved with the Championship club.
West Brom and Fulham both struggling today!
Yet all the teams at the bottom end of the table either won or managed a draw. Another win from Wigan! They were dead and buried 6 games ago but they’ve went on quite a run winning four out of their last five and not conceding!
Also 12th are 3 points behind 6th! It’s going to be incredibly close
Leeds also getting beat from Cardiff 2-0! Anytime Leeds have a chance of putting themselves into a good position they somehow seem to f*** it up! I still dislike Cardiff with the whole Sala business so would prefer them staying down!
Surely Leeds couldn't f*** it up again?
As is often the case, Leeds created far more chances that the opposition but couldn't convert, Bamford even managed to block one of hims team mates shots on the line! If they continue to play like that they should be fine.
Leeds v Fulham and WBA v Brentford this weekend, will show whether there's much of a race or not. I hope Brentford can win on Friday and put the pressure on the top 2.
Same here, Brentford are my second tier team. Love watching the BMW excel upfront!
A technical issue hit the streaming of Championship games, prompting some fans to miss the start of the first matches back after the coronavirus pandemic.
With games having to be played behind closed doors, the English Football League enabled clubs to stream them.
Fans expressed frustration on social media after being unable to log in to some clubs' iFollow service.
The EFL said the service was restored within 15 minutes and apologised to fans "for the inconvenience caused".
An EFL spokesperson said: "We unfortunately experienced a small disruption at the start of today's 3pm fixtures that affected approximately eight clubs.
"The issue was a result of an overload on servers at our streaming partners who resolved the matter within 15 minutes of the kick-off and supporters were then able to enjoy coverage of their respective matches. "
Warnock has replaced Woodgate
Feel sorry for Woodgate.
I always had a tiny soft spot for Middlesbrough but hopefully they go down now
Would have thought they'll stay up now with that change. A change Barnsley might have caught Woodgate's side. Woodgate was on a hiding to nothing with far too much pressure, but bringing through some academy lads the only thing he's done with any success.
Leeds United have said they "will ensure there are no more offensive images" after a photograph of Osama Bin Laden was placed on a seat at their Elland Road ground.
Supporters are unable to attend the remaining games of the season because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Several clubs invited fans to send in photos of themselves or loved ones to put on the empty seats.
The image of the al-Qaeda leader, who was killed in 2011, has been removed.
Some result for Brentford tonight beating league leaders West Brom. They have dragged themselves right back into automatic promotion contention with 6 points since the return from lockdown with 0 goals conceded.
Knowing Brentford they will get beat by Luton or someone next time out!
West Brom surely aren’t going to f*** this up! They’ve not scored or won in four games!
The relegation battle and promotion battle is incredibly tight! Luton somehow managing to win again! It would be insane or Stoke or Huddersfield got relegated!
Leeds United 3-0 Fulham The hope rises.
(I can't really be picky with one of my teams in the mix but it would be nice to see Brentford get promoted as well!)
It would be ideal for Brentford if they went up with moving to a new stadium at the start of next season.
Another win for Barnsley who haven’t conceded in their last 3 games and have managed seven points out of nine which has taking them off the bottom spot! This relegation battle is incredible as all the bottom three seem to be picking up points!
Leeds v Luton
Wigan v Stoke
Are currently in action but current standings
QPR 50
Reading 49
Birmingham 49
Wigan 48
Charlton 46
Stoke 44
Middlesbrough 44 (Play Hull 2nd)
Hull 42 (Play Middlesbrough on 2nd)
Huddersfield 42
Barnsley 41
Luton 40
I feel if Wigan beat stoke tonight, they could survive but QPR are in massive danger judging by their current form!
I'm not even gonna predict what will happen regarding relegation in the Championship because it is so unpredictable.
Brentford comfortably beat Reading and move within two points of second-placed West Bromwich Albion.
Leeds still need 14 more points to be sure of promotion to the Premier League.
Aaand we appear to be struggling against bottom-of-the-table Luton. Not looking good.
A draw not the result Leeds wanted.
Who do West Brom play next?
Wigan Athletic have gone into administration, becoming the first English professional club to do so since the coronavirus pandemic began.
The Latics have been struggling to manage their finances and say there was no alternative if they were to safeguard the club.
The move may see the Championship side deducted points.
The sanction will be applied at the end of this season if the Latics, 14th in the Championship, finish outside the bottom three after 46 games.
Should Wigan finish in the relegation zone, the penalty will be applied during the 2020-21 season instead.
It's five wins in a row for Derby as they move to one point of a play-off place.
Wigan Athletic could be followed into administration by "10 or 15" clubs unless some financial help comes from the top of the game, warns the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee.
Administrators acting for the Latics have said the club is 'finished' if funding cannot be found to get it through to the end of the season after its Hong Kong-based owners pulled out.
But the fear of many within the game is that Wigan will only represent the tip of a large iceberg as the full impact of Covid-19 starts to take effect.
The as-it-stands Championship table suddenly has Nottingham Forest just four points off an automatic promotion spot.
It probably won't be enough to survive the drop, but it was very nice to see that we actually remembered how to win.
Millwall boosted their Championship play-off chances with a late winner against rivals Charlton which dented the Addicks' survival hopes
Big blow for Derby today being beaten by Nottingham Forrest! Forrest are on quite a run but so were Derby who remain 7th!!
Omg the drama
Lee Johnson has been sacked as head coach of Bristol City.
The 39-year-old, who had been in the role since February 2016 and was the longest-serving manager in the Championship, departs following a run of four successive defeats.
Local MP Lisa Nandy and Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham have called for an investigation into Wigan Athletic's recent takeover.
The Latics entered administration earlier this week having been taken over by the Next Leader Fund on 29 May.
The Labour politicians have asked that administrators be stopped from selling players and the club's 12-point penalty be frozen until an inquiry is complete.
West Bromwich Albion moved back to within a point of Championship leaders Leeds and restored their five-point cushion over the play-off pack as they finally saw off Hull City in a stunning game of six goals.
Wigan Athletic administrator Gerald Krasner has said the club have appealed against their 12-point deduction for going into administration.
The Football League said the punishment would apply this season if Wigan avoided finishing in the bottom three.
I’ve just caught up with all the Wigan goss and why they went into administration which was to basically hope they would go in a twelve point deduction due to a massive bet on them being relegated by their owners in phillipanes
Birmingham City boss Pep Clotet has left the club after Wednesday's 3-1 defeat by Swansea City.
The Spaniard, 43, was set to leave the Championship side at the end of the season but said it was "mutually agreed" he would step down immediately.
Birmingham are a strange club, he seemed to have them doing alright.
Leeds now require seven points from their final four matches to be sure of automatic promotion.
Leeds and Stoke are the only two teams I follow on Facebook so to see both reactions to that result was certainly interesting!
It looks like Leeds wont be stopped this time!
Would love Brentford to get into the top 2 but looks like they will have to go the playoff route now.
Luton besting Huddersfield 2-0 at Huddersfield. This relegation battle is incredible!
Some effect by Jones returning - you wonder why he left than at all.
Fulham kept their faint hopes of automatic promotion alive with a 2-0 win that dents Cardiff's play-off bid.
Aleksandar Mitrovic marked his return from suspension with a first-half penalty before Josh Onomah crashed home a second for the hosts after the break.
The Bluebirds have lost back-to-back games and will be leapfrogged by bitter rivals Swansea City if they can beat league leaders Leeds United on Sunday.
Fulham's fourth successive win sees them move four points behind West Brom.
The Cottagers visit the second-placed Baggies on Tuesday, the same night that Cardiff will host another play-off contender, Derby County, by which time Swansea may have knocked them out of the top six.
Cardiff suffering two defeats in a row could be costly as their currently 6th in the Championship! If Derby win against Brentford today, it will be a huge match for both next week! It’s all very close as Blackburn, Swansea and Preston all have difficult matches today but a win makes it even tighter
What an utterly embarrassing shit show. Sooner we get relegated the better, might make our cancerous owners finally leave!
What the hell happened in the first half to Hull?
Wild like!
Wigan winning 8-0 is comical, I’m sure they’d be top of the league since the restart!
Also looking likely of Leeds winning the championship now
Surely now Leeds will got promoted unless there's another twist.
There goes Derby County's play-off chances for another year.
Leeds now need one point from the final two games to be assured of promotion.
Leeds United have been promoted to the Premier League after 16 years away.
Their place in the top flight for next season was confirmed by West Brom's 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town on Friday.
Leeds will now be crowned champions if Brentford do not beat Stoke on Saturday or the Whites then take a point from Sunday's visit to Derby County.
Pete, how does it feel?
Leeds have been promoted to the Premier League after West Brom lost to Huddersfield. This also opens the door for Brentford to get into the 2nd automatic place if they win their next match.
I'm hoping Brentford manage to get promoted as it would be something new to see. As for Leeds "the war of the roses" starts again next season after 16 years. Their promotion has been coming for a long while.
I——
West Brom going to finish third would be tragic! I still feel like they would win the play offs though
Leeds are up! Great news, will be good to see them in the first flight of English football for the first time since I actually started watching football.
I'm sure it'll get very rowdy in Leeds tonight, part of the reason I'm glad I moved to Wiltshire two weeks ago
Happy to see Leeds back only for their fans to go through torture again and for there to be an extra Derby game for Manchester United! Fancy Brentford to go up now, West Brom's form is quite patchy, but doesn't bode well for the play-offs..
Was loving when Huddersfield took the lead lastnyt means it's in Brentford's hands for the first time. Avoiding defeat vs Stoke will mean they are in second spot due to their 12 goal lead in GD meaning it'll be like an extra point for them.
What an opportunity missed for Brentford.
I'm gutted tbh!
So they’ve decided that Wigan point deduction will stand this season despite originally saying it would come into play next season if they survived.
I really pray they beat Fulham tonight, justice.
Nottingham Forrest f***ed it
Also did wba or Brentford want to get promoted ?
Brentford choked at the vital opportunity.
Can't say that I'm looking forward to seeing West Brom back in the Premier League but hopefully Brentford will make it through the play offs instead. Fulham, Cardiff & Swansea all have a chance of promotion as well after all three of them got relegated in recent seasons. Wigan will be very strong favourites for League One next season, they should win that league with ease as they are clearly too good for it.
Wonder how many players will leave Wigan with relegation though!?
^
I too hope Brentford will make it through the play-offs, would like to see another name in the list of clubs who have played in the Premier League.
Huddersfield Town have appointed Leeds United assistant Carlos Corberan as their new head coach.
The 37-year-old has spent the past three years with the Whites and coached the club's under-23s as well as being on Marcelo Bielsa's staff.
He replaces Danny Cowley after the ex-Lincoln manager was sacked on Sunday.
Never a ref that for Rico Henry!
After Reya saved Ayews penalty too.
Done a great job there all things considered.
Brentford overturned a first-leg deficit to beat Swansea City 3-2 on aggregate and book their spot in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
Sheffield Wednesday have been deducted 12 points for breaking rules but it doesn’t apply until next season. Had it applied this season they would have finished bottom of the league.
Surely Wigan can kick up a fuss about this as originally their deduction was next season but they changed their minds the final game of the season
It will be Charlton that would kick up a fuss, although they're also in a state with no one quite sure what's happening with ownership so may not fight it. Barsnley said they would fight any penalty applied next season in the event of them being relegated.
Wigan's deduction was always going to be applied this season. A points penalty for administration is only applied in the following season if the club are relegated the season they go into admin, they couldn't finish in the relegation zone with about 3 games to go so was always going to be applied to the final table
Aitor Karanka has been appointed the new head coach at Birmingham City, signing a three-year contract.
I wonder if other teams are going to be deduced points, were Birmingham not rumoured to receive a deduction too?
Gutted for Brentford, it would have been nice to have a brand new team in the Premier League but instead we have boring Fulham yet again who will probably just end up going straight back down next year. Add West Brom to this and the promotions this year don't look too promising apart from Leeds.
Fulham will have the money to invest, hoepfully on defenders this time around. They'll certainly have to play better than they did tonight but there's still a lot of mediocre teams in the Premier League. Are they that much worse than Brighton, Aston Villa, Southampton, Everton even?
Gutted Brentford didn't go up as they're my championship club but well done to Fulham and Scott Parker he's done an amazing job this year. It's def not the same Fulham as came up last time though they have a more solidity and steeliness to their play if anyone watched their games this year. The tactics in the final there were an example of that, spot on to counter the Benrahma threat.
If lamps went to Chelsea after losing the playoff last season surely Parker is in line for a top 6 job now?!
With teams like Fulham, West Brom, Norwich it feels like getting promotion just for the sake of it, just because they happened to be in the top 2 or in the play offs at the end of the season only for them to get relegated back not too long after. It must be hard to get your head around going up and down so frequently, I remember Birmingham used to be like this as well years ago until their most recent relegation kept them in the EFL leagues.
Now Fulham, don't go and spend £100m on players and get relegated.
Real shame about Brentford not getting promoted, it may be their best opportunity for a while to get promoted to the Premier League.
