Hello BJSC peoples!

As announced way back in July we are creating a new resource as part of the CRC and the mod team is looking for you to get involved! Originally I was hoping to get round to this in September time but that timetable slipped slightly, then I slipped literally and shattered my Fibula.

So basically what the Country Profile entails will be all the details on your BJSC nation that we require as part of the rules and then some extra information that isn't. Have some fun with it! My vision is for the Country Profile to enhance the Who's Who section of the CRC and include links to National Threads to centralise all the country info in one neat little spot.

I have a template below, could you each please complete this for YOUR OWN NATION by January 15th 2015. After that time, any registered nations without a profile will be listed and those keen can feel free to pitch in with the writing of those. Just to reiterate for the overly enthusiastic, all I want at this moment in time is a profile for your own nation. There will be formatting done to make it all pretty, I'm thinking about possibly putting it into a graphic to make it look like an index card but I'm not sure about this. Feel free to chip in with suggestions here.

Please post the completed template in this thread. You can edit it as many times as you'd like up to January 15th at which point I'll close this thread and mine it for the data.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC

The Federal Republic of Ashton made it's BJSC debut in the very first contest as the Fotherington Islands and hasn't missed an edition since. Ashton became a moderating nation during the 15th contest.

A brief description of your nation

The Federal Republic of Ashton is Buzzjack's largest and most prosperous nation straddling two continents thanks to it's ambitions land bridge project to link the many islands between the two halves of it's nations over the shallow and largely impassible Sea of Ashton. The nation is a modern, forward thinking society that enjoys a high degree of personal freedoms and Buzzjack's highest standard of living although some offensive music is strictly prohibited (see Darin & Andreas Johnson) and this is strongly enforced. Ashton has some of Buzzjack's most stringent immigration legislation and operates a shoot on sight policy at it's national borders for threats on the Immigration Black List. The nation has previously struggled at the receiving end of Ecoterrorism which has been viciously stamped out. Ashton operates the Death Penalty.

We first entered in XXXV (35th edition), participating for two contests before dropping out due to lack of funding due to flopping. We returned for LXI (41st edition) and haven't missed a contest since, 32 contests we have been a part of in total, qualifying in 16 of them and DNQing in 16.

A brief description of your nation

Danaelanda is the dance music capital of the world, bringing many visitors to our top clubs and festivals. We are a very music oriented nation naturally. The climate is usually sunny during the day with a cool breeze in the evening, with occasional light rain. Our currency is the Aelan §. We are a democratic nation currently ruled by President Tim Bergling of the Orange Party. The official BJSC governing body is the DISCC (Danaelanda International Song Contest Committee) under President Daniel Thermometre.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC
Yehesi debuted in LIIII with our first qualifier Wallpaper by Staygold. We went on to qualify more than we DNQ'ed and managed to enter the final 8 times without entering the top 10, from which 6 in the top 20. We actually acquired our first top 10 in TBO 2013, when Animals by Martn Garrix made its impact in the top 3. However our first officialtop 10 came from Watermät and his track Bullit, which landed at #7. From then on the nation has started flopping with several DNQ's.

A brief description of your nation
Yehesi has a rich history with war. It was first inhabited by Dutch speaking citizens, but the English managed to occupy it during the First War and introduced English to the country. The Dutch were held as slaves that helped building big cities, such as Gurthry and Korad Upon Leyr, which is still standing. Yehesi served as a colony to the English, but due to its fruitable lands the Spanish and Frnech settled in the southern parts of Yehesi.

In the First Civil War the Dutch slaves rebelled against their masters which lead to them becoming free inhabitants, settling in the northern parts of Yehesi, making it a nation divided into 4 pieces.

During the Second Civil War the Dutch revolted against the English Queen along with the French and the Spanish. In the Treaty of Korad Upon Leyr, the throne was given back to the Dutch.

Due to bad leadership the Queen, Hilda die Salsaschlägterin, was deposed in 2013 which lead to a revolution in the country. The people choose a republic life in a public voting and Cecelia Burke became the first ever president of the Republic of Yehesi

A brief history of nation's participation in BJSC
As Egabbac, the country first entered in BJSC XIX. In the first couple of years our entries were largely half arsed and we failed to vote on several occasions, resulting in a number of deductions and at least one temporary ban. However, we have only missed three contests since our debut and have entered every contest since BJSC XL, long since becoming reliable voters and highly enthusiastic for the contest. Persephonia was one of the worst performing nations for much of its early history but has had more consistent success recently and achieved three very high scoring top two finishes (a winner and two second places that were denied only by some of the most popular songs entered in the last couple of years).

A brief description of your nation (not really that brief )
The land now known as Persephonia was originally a mostly unpopulated region of desert and jungle. It became slowly populated by wandering Daehunese, Umiirukan and Syndarian tribes who would go on to develop into the mainland's three major ethnic groups - the Lauhunese, the Carellisienne and the largest group of all, the Persephonians, respectively. However, the first people to declare a state in the region were its sole native group, the Egabbacis. This group originally only populated a small central region but ruthlessly expanded outwards, even colonising the uninhabited Far Island in the East Twikande Ocean. The Egabbaci monarch ruled with absolute power over his self-declared 'Pristine Kingdom'. The majority Persephonian people soon tired of rule by the Egabbaci minority and overthrew them in the first of several coups in our history, establishing the Republic of Persephonia.

The Republican era turned out to be even more disastrous than the Egabbaci era, as the radical leader of the coup against the Egabbaci soon set about attempting to segregate and eventually ethnically cleanse the nation. Under the pretense of creating a federation of equal states, each for the different ethnic groups of the country, he reorganised the state and forced mass movement of all people of non-Persephonian ethnicity. The Carellisienne people drew the short end of this stick as despite at the time making up nearly 35% of the population, they were all herded into a small and inhospitable region in the south. Severe overcrowding and disease outbreaks followed, and when a vocal minority of the Carellisienne attempted to fight back against the government they responded by declaring a full scale Civil War. The Carellisiennes were helpless against this threat and as many as 50% of them were killed by carpet bombings and disease.

Thankfully the War soon ended as an awareness campaign led by Salim Zosimus turned public opinion against the Republican government. Zosimus orchestrated another coup which quickly succeeded in assassinating the President and toppling the Republic. Zosimus was soon afterwards declared the new President and, save for a brief period of occupation of Carellis by some pissed off ostriches, has remained in office since (winning re-election twice) and rebuilt the country, turning the once wartorn city of Carellis into a bustling modern metropolis, the new capital of the nation.

Meanwhile Far Island was largely neglected since the fall of the Pristine Kingdom of Egabbac and the occupying Egabbacis there developed their own parallel culture and way of life. They are now recognised as a fifth distinct Persephonian ethnic group simply known as the Far. The Island is mostly autonomous but still remains in association with the mainland. More recently an area colonised by Persephonian troops during a botched invasion attempt thousands of miles away in the east of Lexico has announced its unofficial accession to the Federal Union as the Persephonian East Allecian State.

FSR Rontvia made its BJSC debut in the first contest back in 2007. Was a moderating nation in 2008/9 but stepped down after getting overly worked up about cheapgate after the complete disaster that was BJSCXIV (aka the top ten being taken straight from the UK release schedule apart from two songs).

A brief description of your nation

FSR Rontvia is a peaceful nation with a very low crime rate and zero murders committed during 2014. The climate is moderate with cool winters and warm summers, but never overly hot or cold. The national broadcaster is the RTVN which is headed up by TV personality Ricardo Delta. Australian singer Delta Goodrem is the nation's most loved celebrity, shifting 195,000,000 copies of debut album Innocent Eyes, equating to more than one copy per person. FSR Rontvia has existed as a nation since 1903, when it broke away from Scandinavia, many Swedes still remain in the country but 92% of the population are Rontvian, and the national languages are English and Swedish although only 10% of people speak Swedish fluently. The currency is the Ronta and FSR Rontvia has no royal family.

FSR Rontvia is not the biggest nation in terms of size but in terms of the contest it has been the most successful overall. The nation was well known for mostly sending Swedish or other Scandinavian entries for the first 4-5 years of the contest. But since practically everything decent now appears on Scandipop or some other well followed blogs, this now rarely happens and only one Scandi entry has been sent in the past three years. Diversity is highly encouraged and genre hopping from month to month is the norm.

FSR Rontvia has the motto 'We believe in what we love'. We don't try to win BJSC, we simply send songs that are doing well in our domestic charts and hope that others like them - 99% of the time our entries are simply selected by choosing the highest eligible song in the Rontvian charts (i.e. non UK releases/charting songs/other uninspired entries). This process does unfortunately occasionally throw up random gospel entries.

FSR Rontvia is repsonsible for many BJSC innovations, such as the Stats thread (all hail anyone else that compiles that for taking it off my hands) and the encouragment of odds and predictions (including the Predicta thread). Untouched's Smack Me was seen as a turning point for the contest as it had been on a decline after the first four editions and due to take an extended break. Smack Me demanded to be sent instantly and the break never happened, and the schedule has been going full flow ever since. RontBet has correctly predicted the winner around 80% of the time, usually when presenting odds before any other nation.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC

Bellamia first entered BJSC in the 43rd edition, hosted in Botanikka. Greyson Chance represented the country with his track Running Away, a DNQ. First qualifier was I'm Not Going Back by Kristyna Myles in BJSC47, before achieving four top 20 hits in 2013 and some continued success going on.

A brief description of your nation

The Actual Republic of Bellamia is located in the continent of East Twikande, bordered by Bignia-Zaragovina, Aquafina and Mezidinia. The country is said to be relatively peaceful and is a popular holiday destination during the summer due to the beaches along the coastline. The national language is English, although many other languages are spoken by minority groups. The country's leader is Queen Nadine Coyle of Nadine's Irish Mist, with Princess Anaíya next in line to the throne.

Musically, the country is known for its love of boybands, with there being 14 boyband #1s in the Bellamian national chart over the past three years alone. The X Factor is a popular show in the country, with its own version being judged by Sarah Harding, Cody Simpson, Lily Allen and head judge Harry Styles, and presented by Jameela Jamil (The Xtra Factor is presented by AJ Odudu).

In its BJSC entries, The Actual Republic of Bellamia tends to provide pop music but has sent dance (tyDi, Houseshaker) and rap (Shystie) in the past, as well as delving into the singer/songwriter genre (Lewis Watson, Michael Schulte). Each and every entry has made the Bellamian national chart top 10 so there is a clear love for each entry from the nation, and this is carefully considered when selecting entries.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC:

The first year the birds entered in BJSC (the 42nd edition in 2012) things didn't go very well and our record for 2012 stood at a miserable 7 DNQs, one second last place finisher and one last place finisher. Things started to look up in 2013 when we started to get some decent mid-table positions and even a top 10 hit along with just 4 DNQs, 2014 has thus far been our most successful year statistically, despite missing one contest, with just three DNQs, our most successful song thus far above and various solidly to badly performing qualifiers in between. We are hoping to continue this upward trend in 2015 and beyond. Our style of music tends to be a variety of styles with a tendency towards blogosphere left field electro music.

A brief description of your nation

Terra Avium started out life in the giant world of Animalia - where animals lived alongside each other and had been since the dawn of time. One day, thanks to the rebelling of Eglé, the then leader of bird kind in the universe, disagreements broke out on the system of command (then ran by Lion King Leonardes and the mammals which other species deemed unfair) and the lack of respect or fairness between species. War broke out and blood was shed for many a day in Animalia, resulting in the death of the king and the bird's leader, Eglé, who whilst controversial and loathed in the kingdom, remains a symbol of rebellion for the birds today. Eventually (you can read the exact story in the thread), the war was resolved. Peace was reached within the Kingdom and it was agreed, thanks to the help of the residents of Terra Platypus, that each kingdom will now have their own land and can adapt to living anywhere in the universe - they were Terra Mammalia, Terra Avium, Terra Reptilia, Terra Amphibian, Terra Piscium & Terra Insecta.

Now independent, Terra Avium decided, using their unique advantage to fly through space and not need oxygen because this is a ridiculous fantasy story and I can make these rules if I want to, to find a refuge on another world and came across a vacant space on the Buzzjack World to start with. Whilst the response to living alongside various alien kind to the birds was hostile, relations soon softened and, now independent and under the rule of proclaimed 'Wisest Bird in all of Animalia' and war hero, Orleé, the birds intelligence and ambition grew.

Nowadays, Terra Avium is governed by a panel of birds of prestigious titles, headed by Orleé. Home of a thriving economy, a unique popular culture inspired by the neighbouring countries and musical choices and home to almost 10,000 unique bird types, as further research and trekking into new bird species out there are always in full swing. Terra Avium still maintains contact with the other Animalian republics, most notably Terra Mammalia and Terra Reptilia, however relations with Terra Piscium and Terra Insecta, the country's main oppositions in the lead up to the war, have remained sour and no contact has yet been established.

It's not all been plain sailing. Earlier in the year, a discovery was found for a new species though to be extinct - who proved to be dangerous and overthrew the birds, turning the once thriving avian nation into a giant reptilian dominated totalitarian state with many avian residents being exiled. Fortunately, after hijacking the Buzzjack Song Contest as well, the ruler Tyrannus became obsessed to the point of ignoring economic problems and going into a meltdown when a song of his DNQ'd. The birds seized this opportunity to strike the dinosaurs and sure enogh overthrew the distracted state who were starting to turn on themselves. All surviving dinosaurs were then exiled, with the exceptions of some of the more harmless and larger lizards that today stay and help. Since then, Terra Avium has been working frantically to rescue all exiled birds and pick up where things left off, sure enough things have been looking recently.

Once upon a time a little country called Eledan decided to participate in a wicked song contest called BJSC. Eledan finished dead last but still hopeful. Next month it managed to win the whole contest. But its journey was only beginning. Half a year later the nation became a two-time winner. With a huge gap of 32 months of no luck at the top it managed to score 2nd place with BJSC's most ikonec entry ever, 'play' by iamamiwhoami. But it wasn't a regular 2nd place, it was a result of a tie. Numayania who won that contest and stole our win have since been vanquished but not before they could still another win from someone else in the same manner. Exactly one month later Eledan broken its string of lukewarm luck and put 3rd win onto their list of achievements which was shaping up to be pretty impressive. It wasn't until the end of 2013 and 1.5 years later that Eledan became victorious once again. Cut Copy became the nation's first male winner and 2nd Australian winners. Merely 3 months later Eledan bagged yet another win with a legendary American drag queen RuPaul. Eledan are now holding 3rd best joint record for the amount of wins. The country has been known for taking risks and is considered one of the most exciting nations in BJSC. As of 25 December 2014, Eledan participated in 67 contests, DNQd 16 times, won 5 times.

A brief description of your nation: Queendom of Eledan are a Central Miskanthian nation that has 7 neighbours (Qarenfanghoney, Unovia, Ajanaeda, Nonsuch, Espen, Lexico, Frahliso). The southern border that connects Eledan with Qarenfanghoney has been completely sealed since 2012. Kopeckans are prohibited to enter the country. Espen are the nation's closest allies. The two countries signed a treaty that makes citizens of both countries live and work freely within the boundaries of the nations without visa thus making the border between the countries virtually non existent. Republic of Tron which was one of the nations former neighbours has been officially added to the territory of Eledan in 2013 due to huge debts and natural resources scarcity. Tronians have now been fully integrated into the Eledanese culture and the majority of them now consider themselves Eledanese. Since Tronians and Eledanese both spoke different dialects of Eledanese before the Big Merge (the unofficial name of the event), there was virtually no language barrier to overcome.

Queendom of Eledan is ruled by Queen Jonna. Eledan is divided into 5 regions: Wadtlardtia, Kinëlandt, Orsë, Tflarsia and Lamil. (The [dt] and [tf] before l, s, r, c or at the end of the word are silent). Each region has a PM.

Gay marriage has been legal in the country since 1977. Any discrimination based on sexual orientation is punished by at least 30-day jail time and a minimum fine of $40k.

Eager to impress with anything completely obscure, Séyetana made little impact in their first contest in August 2011 but found their feet very quickly and qualified for the next 9 in a row with a sequence of reasonably obscure pop entries (and Nightwish!) that would pretty much always land mid-table. Of course, this mediocrity was not enough for us, so instead we went bipolar, starting to find the hits far more often, the first of these being our only current medal winner Love Stuck, followed up by seven more top 10s in the next 2 years, but also far more often giving in to the temptation to send something really left of field, or just incredibly rocky, and not finding an audience for that. These crash and burn fairly often. We have definitely learned to accept that graciously and no-one would ever think otherwise.

A brief description of your nation

Séyetana is an outwardly peaceful country on the western side of East Twikandea, bordered by Caerfyrddia, Persephonia, Syndare and Daehun. The western coast boasts an array of beach cities, among the most important along that coast for maritime trade, and this is where 75% of the population is based. Chief among them are the capital, Zizzyziz, and the second city, Asenati, both of which are prime choices to host important national and international events. The rest of the country is a bit of a biome mishmash, with forests in the north, mountains sweeping across the centre, and great vastless plains covering the eastern portion. Through these plains exist various pathways of cities to account for trade routes with Persephonia. Each part of the country has a distinct favoured genre, and it is a mark of honour when one part gets to send their genre to the Buzzjack contest. I think whatever you have is different? Mine's a streak of continually alternating between the two states, not repeating positions or anything like that, just whether I qualified or not. Thereby a streak of entirely failing to pick up on any streak, Q or DNQ. I went over everyone's runs in the stats thread to confirm that I had the longest (as of LXVI anyway, Lex/Klum are joint second, that might be interesting to them).

I'm really just inventing records to look impressive and that does happen to be a stat I beat everyone else on.

OH haha, never mind. You are forgiven. At least I get to explain it in more detail.

I still claim the obscure record of finishing in the teens the most times in a row with my totally ebin 17-19-19-14 run with Machines Don't Care, Deaf Club, SOHN and Roses Gabor. Though that might have been matched or beaten since. The stats thread is (shock horrah) out of date so I cannot check that tho ~

A brief history of nation's participation in BJSC

Ramrynia first participated in the 37th edition of BJSC, alongside Daehun, Séyetana, Usfland and Avalonia who also made their debuts in the contest. After a fairly successful start accumulating a couple of low mid-table finishes, sending 'Call Me Maybe' by Carly Rae Jepsen at the beginning of 2012 saw Ramrynia be considered potential winners in the pre-contest odds. Despite a finish of 6th position, it saw Ramrynia's success jump to a new level and resulted in 5 further top 10 finishes in 2012. This included a 2nd place with Elen Levon in the 48th edition which, following Aeroche handing over hosting duties, saw Ramrynia host their very first BJSC! Despite more DNQs than in 2012, 2013 was another very successful year with 5 further top 10 finishes including another second place with Alida, just one point behind winners Fljótavík. Coincidentally, Fljótavík also chose to hand over hosting duties meaning Ramrynia were able to host for the second time. 2014 saw Ramrynia send more alternative and perhaps inspired entries than in previous years, and results generally declined throughout the year with 3 DNQs in the final 4 contests of the year however Indiana's 4th place in the 62nd edition was a clear highlight. We believe that our first victory will eventually arrive, hopefully 2015 will be our year!

Ramrynia is situated on the Eastern Island of the Twin Continent in the Buzzjack World. The country is situated on the coast with D'yermak'er sharing the western border, Quintessa, Sandebörg and Terra Avium sharing the northern border and Mezidinia and Danaelanda sharing the eastern border. Altyr Muunilinst can also be seen in the distance from the southern coast of Ramrynia. In terms of music, Ramrynia like to send music most commonly from the pop and dance music genres, more recently with an alternative twist on the traditional pop genre.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC Cumulonimbia debuted in March 2014 with DyE's "Fantasy" in BJSC LXIII and sadly failed to qualify. The only way was, as Yazz and the Plastic Population succinctly and accurately put it.. 'up', and so it was when Riton and Meleka's "Inside My Head" made twentieth in the preceding contest. Since then there have been finishes of 26th (Simon Patterson's "Taxi [Cumulonimbus Mix]"), 19th (Max Richter's "Spring 1 [Ade Laugee Remix]"), and 12th (Fuck Buttons' "Surf Solar) with the biggest and only Top 10 finish from Lovelife's "Dying To Start Again" which made it to 6th in BJSC LXVII with 143 points - both national records.

A brief description of your nation Cumulonimbia lies directly to the NW of FARC and Lorikeet, and has a dramatic mountainous interior making much of the land uninhabitable. The capital Cyclone is located on the coast and much of the population live close to, or along the coastal strip where the lie of the land is relatively flat. Smaller settlements are located along the main trunk routes (the A1 and A2) that connects the country to FARC and Lorikeet, with the A1 also connecting the mainland to the segregated territory 'low' which is situated well into the mountains within FARC. The main genres of music listened to are alternative and dance music with a thriving music scene in and around the capital, however pop music and rock music is also relatively popular and make frequent incursions into the nations Top 10 national chart.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC: Began competing in the 65th contest proceeding to not qualify in the first three contests. In our fourth contest, the country seemed to have hit the jackpot placing a very respectable 7th place with Adventure Club. The following contest, we also qualified with the help of Marlon Roudette but the following contest was to be the biggest success in Ajanaeda's history finishing in 6th place with 151 points in the final, both national records.

A brief description of your nation: Ajanaeda is located in the heart of the continent Miskantha and is bordered by Eledan, Unovia and Nonsuch. The country is primarily forest areas but does have four large cities (for the country) with population of 750,000 and more, the main one apart from Eska is called Zainzonsa with a population of just over 1,000,000. It is the most popular destination for holidays in Ajanaeda due to it's main attraction the Zagantha memorial.

My first contest was BJSC 68 I believe and I have entered 3 contests where I have never made the final yet. My first entry was Swept Away and I came 20th in the Semi Final. My 2nd entry was Marilyn where I came 16th in the semi final and missed out by 2 points . And my Kat Deluna entry unsurprisingly bombed in like 27th also in the semi final.

A brief description of your nation In a land where people are outnumbered two-to-one by tumbleweeds, Harmonica has learned to embrace its middle-of-nowhere character and in fact give it some charm. The country benefits greatly from its proximity to neighboring Yehesi, where most residents travel for shopping and to experience basic aspects of civilization such as grass, trees, and carpet. Borders are also shared with Alteria and Altyr Muunilinst, whose names are understandably mistaken on a regular basis. Because of their low population and political apathy, Harmonica functions as an anarchy; however they do appoint a Lady Sunshine who serves as an ambassador. The current Lady Sunshine is Stephanie and she likes corn on the cob. The most popular genre of music is country.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC

Aquafina debuted with Maria Illeva and her Bulgarian smash 'I Like' which did not qualify and finished in the bottom seven. Following Maria's DNQ, Aquafina qualified by sending Alexandra Stan and qualified with 'Get Back (Asap)' finishing 9th. Aquafina followed up their success, Aquafina were unable to qualify 7 months before Swedish Angels qualified. Aquafina managed their best position of #04 when Girls Generation performed well with 'Flower Power'. The success of 'Flower Power' allowed Aquafina to qualify for almost 1 year until Aquafina's princess Adelen DNQ'd with 'Baila Conmigo'.

Aquafina are unfortunatly placed beside Bellamia, Bignia and Danealanda. Aquafina are providing charity to these countries and are seen as a superior country.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC One of the longest running participants but little success. Highest finish is 4, then 5 then 6. Nearly went a year without qualifying in 2014!

A brief description of your nation An island between 3 continents but aligned to Orchidia, PRoJ has had a tumultuous history.

There was an ancient Stone Age colony on the island dating to before the great BJSC world ice age and this is evident in the names of the older towns of Etxelur and Sarum, plus the establishment of ancient dykes to keep out the rising sea levels. This civilisation was repressed when the island was taken over by pirates in the 15th century.

First established in its modern form the 15th century by rogue pirates, it soon flourished as a strong trading port due to it's strategic position between 3 continents and the proximity to the territory of Kopecka (there is an ancient causeway to this territory which flooded in ancient times). The pirate King, Colm I was crowned as the monarch of Jester's Kingdom in the year 1486 and his dynasty ruled for nearly 500 years. Following years of dissent by the lower classes comprising the descendants of the original pre 15th century population a peaceful revolution took place on 28 January 1976 and the Peoples Republic of Jester (later changed to PRoJ) was born allowing the island to become a developed country and leaving years of totalitarianism behind.

BJSC Records: None from what I can tell. We did hold the record for least successful winner (Ghost Loft, 137 pts) for almost a year before being ousted by Hervé's 'Tear The House Up'

A brief history of nation's participation in BJSC
Plans were made to debut during summer 2012, but with registration being closed for whatever reason, these plans were delayed. After months of anticipation amongst our people, Trifoski made their debut appearance in BJSC LI, making the final and finishing in 20th place with Curxes' "Haunted Gold". 2013 was rather hit and miss for Trifoski overall, but with a few very memorable moments; after 3 DNQs in a row, we picked up our first win as Ghost Loft's "So High" unexpectedly scraped to victory in LVI. Just a few months later, The Kite String Tangle's "Given The Chance" gave us our second win, in a much more convincing fashion. 2014 was far more consistent for Trifoski, finishing in the top ten on 6 occasions during the year, 5 of those being consecutive (a run that continues into 2015, so watch this space ).

A brief description of your nation
Trifoski is situated in the Quilvorian continent, bordered by Vulkyria, Camdonia, Scherzland, Land of Jack and Fervorosia. A peaceful and carefree country at heart, plenty of residents are also very passionate about BJSC, though can get a little short-tempered and critical in the case of a string of mediocre/bad results (though don't we all tend to get kinda 'caught up' in the competition~). Still most people are very patriotic and faithful towards the nation, always proud to wear the Trifoski colours. July 28th was ordered to become a national holiday following Ghost Loft's victory on that date in 2013!

We joined this contest in hopes of sharing some cool music with the countries and it went over better than we even imagined. We started off our BJSC career with a bang by sending Alex Adair's 'Make Me Feel Better', which came in 7th and proceeded to finish 11th in the EOY Best Of VII. We then sent two glorious flops (both which managed to crack the final of the Rejects competition, and one coming in fifth), and then we had a moderate hit with the absolutely glorious 'Say My Name' by ODESZA which finished in 10th and gave us hope with it only to be shatered by us missing the final with Andy C's D'n'B BANGA 'Heartbeat Loud'. We then proceeded to win the entire contest with Josef Salvat, a budding newbie with some great tunes. We are currently hosting BJSC 71 of which the final will be held in just 3 days.

A brief description of your nation

We are a country known for our extravagant transportation (hosting the biggest monorail line in the world) and our welcoming inhabitants. Our current (honorary) president is Mr. Piggs, a stuffed plush pig which stems from the 'Angry Birds' universe but our much less well-known government official behind the scenes who does the majority of the work is none other than Grandpa Snoops. Yes, our entire legislative system is entirely composed of stuffed animals. It is a miracle we are still standing.

Yes! Country profiles are still happening.

I still have no idea how they will look presentationally but I'm going to experiment this week with a few things to see how they look/work.

BJSC Records: none really that I'm aware of right now, but previously Deandria held the record for longest break from the contest followed by a return! Additionally, they happen to be the only nation who has won the contest, yet has never hosted.

A brief history of nations participation in BJSC: Dalisska asked Deandria to join the contest for fun, so after some research, they did so. Deandria has in the past taken several breaks from the wacky world of BJSC, sometimes very long ones, but currently can't see it happening again any time soon. Deandria has been somewhat unlucky in the contest in general, having a lot more DNQ's than Q's in their seven years (on and off) in the contest. They did however manage to take it all with Allie X - Sanctuary in BJSC 81, which was the first contest of 2016! Sadly Deandria declined the opportunity to host the next contest due to financial reasons (lol not really), but currently is not ruling out hosting in the future.

A brief description of your nation: Known as a peaceful nation, with a vibrant entertainment scene, which doesn't stop with music. There are also many Deandrian pioneers in areas such as visual art, particularly in videography, independent films and painting, also theatre and avant-garde poetry (is that a thing? Well it sounds cool).

Deandria's sound has been described by another nation as "classy", a description that was received positively by Deandrians. However, they are generally unafraid to experiment a bit and send things that feel out of their "comfort zone" as well. The tag "alternative" probably fits well, with entries such as 'Zero Point', 'Expialadocious', 'Calm Down', the current 'Alchemy', and others, having been entered before. Sometimes we dabble in pop, an example being one of our more successful entries 'Sit Still, Look Pretty', which Hushkanukia kindly allowed and encouraged us to have after both countries had discovered it. Our only winner to date could probably be described as "electropop", and this kind of genre is one that I can see Deandria possibly sending again in the future, and had been sent by us previously also, with entries such as our debut entry 'Destroy Everything You Touch' and 'Slow Dancing' probably being able to be described as so.

Deandrians truly enjoy the experience of discovering and sharing music. They are an enthusiastic and open nation, and this very much carries into the BJSC world as well. We enjoy seeing countries sending what are known as "inspired entries". Previously many Deandrians have felt uninspired by the contest, bored and exhausted by it, and as I mentioned, have taken several breaks. However, after a lot of reconsideration they are extremely happy to be back in the contest and since their latest return, are enjoying it more than ever and looking forward to future participation also.
