They've done really well for a group that has not came from a reality show (Little Mix, Girls Aloud) almost every other group have tried and failed (Wonderland, Stooshe, Perfume).

Completely agree.

I think it's easy to forget because they have always just seemed to have done the wrong thing at the pivotal moment of greatness, but they've done a lot right as well. They have a core group of fans which will always make sure they chart, and not many girl bands have had that in recent years.

Banarama never had number 1 hit. But when i'm asked to name an 80s girl group, they're literally the only one I can name. I think our Sats have done a great job and will have classics that live on for years wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Plus as bad as things look at the moment, I still have faith they have one last push in them to finally do something which makes everyone take notice of them.

I think the hardest part for me as a fan is the way people laugh at them. I can deal with people critising their abilities, because every music act ever will have that. But I hate how much of a laughing stock they've become to some people, when it's completely unjustified.

I still think the release of 808 would revive this campaign. Just saying.

If Not Giving Up couldn't revive LFTW, 808 ain't gon' do sh*t.

Would love to see a video for it though wub.gif

It's a fair point, but Not Giving Up got to 19 with No airplay and less promotion than they'd usually do, if it's got some radio attention I think LFTW would have re-entered the chart all be it the lower end but still.

I think 808, especially if they release the one with Angel, will get some airplay. If not, I would personally boycott Radio 1 for the rest of time for screwing my girls over 3 times in a row!

Maybe Frankie can threaten to put butter under Scott's shoes on Strictly and make him worse than he already is, and force him to play it!

Only Sophie Ellis-Bextor can do that with such immaculate flair.

Hoping for Radio 1 from now on is a completely lost cause.

OMFG! laugh.gif so true!

Then they need to do a good radio tour to get the public back interested. Force Radio 1 to take notice again, because they're charting better.

They did it with 30 Days! And let's face it, if they can get that to chart top 10...

Posted by: shadow2009 Oct 8 2014, 06:54 AM

The introduction of streaming makes it so much harder for them to go top ten. Their image and brand relies on top ten singles (no matter how little their sales are) so it's been a big blow that they missed the top 15 and just scraped the top 40 with two releases this year.

Album flops can sort of be 'saved' by a top ten single or two (like their last albums) but the singles flopping completely has put them in a very dangerous and 'irrelevant' position. Their next move is vital.

Issues and Higher (not saving a flop more just giving it longevity) spring to mind, for sure. I really hope there is an album coming and it isn't just smokescreen for blowing the news of an end of them making albums etc.

I've been wondering.

Marvin confirmed they weren't splitting in a interview on Popjustice. He also said on the same interview that "everyone love a Christmas album"...which is really vague.
Peter from PJ also mentioned he was still waiting for them to announce the Christmas album, so we still don't have a confirmation...and to be honest, it's taking quite a long time. unsure.gif

Are they thinking about releasing in December? I can't with these girls. sleep.gif

It will have a planned release date of 22/12 only to get pushed back to the 29/12 at a discounted price.

I don't know what's taking them so long. They haven't even said anything like "look forward to some exciting news coming SOON!" in the mailers. It's just nothing. They haven't even mentioned anything to fans, Tweeted about anything coming up, there's nothing on the release schedules, no leaks or rumours online, no album titles floating around. It's just so quiet.

I mean isn't the pattern usually -

Announce "news coming soon"....2/3 weeks later - announcing the album and single.....next week - announcing when we can hear the single on radio....next week - radio premiere/pre-orders/artwork/title etc.....6 - 8 weeks later the single and album release? Do we even have time to do that? laugh.gif

(unless they're going to do a random pointless Christmas cover medley on Strictly with no album or single to promote themselves)

Hah! Amazing. A November release may get them a total of 30,000 sales, a late October release would probably give less than half.

Yeah, they should try and fit some more GH performances in. There are shows they could do acoustics on. And they could do a Tumble-like medley on Strictly. It's such a shame that their last/only performance on Strictly was under-rehearsed and void of any energy of a song that didn't suit the audience at all.

If there's no news regarding a christmas single within the next 10 days I think it's fair to assume that it will have been axed. I think their next single will be released in July / August if I'm being honest now unless they decide to promote without Una otherwise the single will be sooner. I'm hoping they splash the cash for a guest feature because they really need that airplay.

I'm guessing it could climb on Friday as the movie is premiering but I'm not holding my breath on it going top 200 on iTunes.

Posted by: shadow2009 Dec 4 2014, 12:18 PM

It climbed alot when they posted it on Facebook/Twitter. They always get boosts when they promote on social media but only ever post it once or twice and that's it. sad.gif

Posted by: MistleJoe. Dec 4 2014, 12:19 PM

Shame the soundtrack isn't advertised on iTunes. Saturdays Christmas number 1 opportunity thwarted again.

It's held up longer than Mr Postman at least.

Posted by: MistleJoe. Dec 9 2014, 02:07 PM

Christmas Wrapping is #20 on Google play due to being 19p. I wonder if it can chart this Sunday because of this?

Fairytale of New York has raced into the UK top 10 in today's midweeks due to the Google Play deal (they are #1 on play). The Saturdays are #20, so hopefully they manage as the week progresses.

Posted by: shadow2009 Dec 9 2014, 03:13 PM

Right now would be a good time to Tweet about the Google Play offer...

Posted by: JollySaintG Dec 9 2014, 03:19 PM

But cause it's The Saturdays, they won't. But hey it would be good if this manages to scrape the top 100 but let's be honest, it's flopping on iTunes and iTunes have higher sales that playstore I assume so they won't chart plus factoring in the fact that it's not on streaming either there's no chance now I don't think, thinking about everything anyway.

Posted by: MistleJoe. Dec 9 2014, 03:33 PM

I think it'll chart top 200, at the very least (that is, if Play keep the offer all week), top 100 is quite competitive at the moment with the 1000s of Christmas songs being streamed.

Posted by: shadow2009 Dec 9 2014, 03:35 PM

Where is it on iTunes?

Posted by: MistleJoe. Dec 9 2014, 03:35 PM

QUOTE(shadow2009 @ Dec 9 2014, 03:35 PM) *

Nowhere.

Play store deals do affect the chart though. They usually pick a random album that is out of the top 500 on iTunes and discount it to 99p, every week. That album then usually ends up top 20 by the end of the week in the charts.

Posted by: ḇreakaway Dec 9 2014, 06:31 PM

Are songs sold for such little even eligible for chart placing?

Posted by: MistleJoe. Dec 11 2014, 11:50 AM

They do count! as long as they are more than 10p!

Slade was at #48 in the midweeks yesterday despite being around #70 on iTunes, due to the 19p things.

1348. Vanessa White - Nostalgia

She's freefalling :shakingcheeseblock:

I'm surprised that she's not went top 500 on iTunes, she's out almost everynight with Vodka, you would have thought that the customers in the bars would be buying her music.

Vanessa: Lets have a shot of vodka
pretending to be a fan: omg yes
vanessa: pre-order my EP and purchase Nostalgia
fan: omg of course

like what is this bitch playing at going so r&b, they're all boring. I need SOLO frankie & Mollie to just slay me with POP heaven.

Posted by: Cameron Jan 7 2016, 05:41 PM

In all fairness, these song are the type of tracks people who are unsigned release. She needs to be doing tracks like Tinashe/Ciara

Posted by: Joe. Jan 7 2016, 05:42 PM

Vanessa needs to get on the free trainers!

Posted by: 🙄🙄🙄 Jan 7 2016, 05:47 PM

It's a shame that no label are willing to take the chance on Vanessa. The only one who's on a label is Mollie? I'm guessing Frankie & Rochelle could easily get a label if they wanted too.

Posted by: Joe. Jan 7 2016, 05:52 PM

Can't they just get back together as a five and start releasing pop bangers again :'(

I'll take any new music even if it flops.

Its a good thing. The sooner the solo dreams die, the sooner they will regroup!

I am sad for Ness, but she was always 'the least popular' one with twitter followers etc. and quite honestly Rochelle has a much better voice and in the last three years of the group, Rochelle was the lead singe.

Yasss babe, spot on !!

If Rochelle decides to be a solo artist, I probably won't give a ish if the girls reunite or not. Her voice needs to be heard and recognised.

Will Vanessa go top 100 with Chapter 1 EP? (on Itunes now)

LOL at her being on Karma Artist Recordings though, it's a shame to see her independent and I have no doubt she's lost a lot of money through this project.

I know I just checked! Must admit, I wasn't expecting it to go top 100 iTunes, 72 isn't that bad this early on, i mean not good, but not bad considering. Be interesting to see if it climbs over tomorrow/today much. Good luck to her though, at least now i actually own DWBYL

It's true though, it might be a bit more than 40 but I think you only need about 100 sales a day to be roughly 40/50 on the albums iTunes chart, it jumps up quite a lot as you get towards the top 20 though, I'd say but you can even be #1 and not make the top 10 officially. :/ That being said, she's doing a hell of a lot better than I expected with these god awful songs.

Not that it's relevant these days as the charts changed so much, but I still find that post from 'missingyou' (oops, now 'DiscoLove'?) who registered the place where each of their singles stood at noon :

QUOTE(DiscoLove @ Oct 6 2013, 08:37 AM) *
Targets for 12 noon (I know its hard to compare as we had pre-orders, but it should level out soon..)

12 noon on release day
If This Is Love - #98
Up - #52
Just Can't Get Enough - #58
Forever Is Over - #12
Missing You - #29
All Fired Up - #3 Singles and #55 EP
Notorious - #43
My Heart Takes Over - #39
30 Days - #18 (EP #1)
What About Us - #1 (EP #1)

Didn't record Gentleman - there was no point lol

Ive purchased Single, Remix EP, 2 x CDs and 2 x Amazon (free) downloads smile.gif

Again, it doesn't mean a thing as 'Back To You' could completely free-fall by Saturday - unlike these songs who all managed top 20 in the end. Plus, streaming, etc. But still, it's definitely off to a decent start.

Look, I know Vanessa is on small indie label (and that has both its ups and its downs when it comes down to releasing music), but Mollie's era has been so much more satisfying this far, and in every aspect. Not only is the music much better, but so are the visuals, and it's so exciting to follow the song on iTunes.

(But, yes, I know. Smaller vs major label, etc. )

Also still rising in Ireland. Up to a new peak of #32.

Posted by: shadow2009 Aug 19 2016, 07:57 PM

Is it really on the USA charts?

I genuinely thought this would, at best, go top 100 on UK iTunes only, never mind #18 and also showing up on various charts round the world.

Posted by: Hurricane Aug 19 2016, 08:12 PM

It was #32 in Ireland but it's back at #36.

Still #18 in the UK. That will be the peak for the week I think, but that's still insanely better than what we've all expected.

She's doing quite poorly on streaming though, so definitely do give it a play on Spotify please, guys!

Doesn't it take ages for songs to build on Spotify, though?

Well, define "ages"? Certainly not one week for suuuure, but I mean, it won't hurt her.

Posted by: shadow2009 Aug 19 2016, 08:26 PM

Well I dunno much about Spotify and streaming but I was always under the impression that songs just take a while to build and that most OA/OS releases do well on sales but struggle initially with streams, even those from big artists? Like, I don't know if any songs tend to debut on Spotify and start smashing immediately or not, I mean maybe it's pretty common to do shitty on Spotify on the first day of release and we're worrying for nothing?

Posted by: Hurricane Aug 19 2016, 08:29 PM

No, you're right. Obviously "struggling" is subjective as some big artists might not chart in the top 10 right away because of streaming, but it's decent enough for them to chart in the top 40 whereas Mollie won't.

But yeah, hits are built through time and are less front-loaded than in the past, mainly because of streaming.

Just saw the top 1000 in France. COME THROUGH MY PEOPLE!

Posted by: (Zach) Aug 19 2016, 08:34 PM

I think you're both right. Yeah, I wouldn't expect her to be getting many streams at all just yet (especially considering the music video has only managed 15,000 views so far, which is a whole other story) -- usually only very established artists, anticipated releases, or songs featured on the Spotify homepage have a strong start with streaming. Streaming usually goes hand in hand with airplay. I would, however, like to see it getting streamed a bit more at this stage. Spotify is showing 13,600 streams so far, but it also said the same number about six hours ago. It must only update once or twice a day. So it could be doing not-so-bad? I definitely don't expect it to enter the Top 200 anytime soon though. I don't think NGU or WAYWF ever entered the Top 200 and those had some airplay.

In all honesty I think it'll take a good 3/4 weeks for streaming to build up and that's if radio decide to support it.

Light green again on Kworb. Wonder if it could take over Kungs?

Posted by: Hurricane Aug 19 2016, 09:28 PM

She needs to stablize her position at #18 so she can either rise a bit or again stabilize in the top 25 through the week as she does her radio tour.

Posted by: Cameron Aug 19 2016, 09:33 PM

Guys, chill, it will do better with streaming. She is a 'new' artist who needs to establish radio play for it to smash

Posted by: (Zach) Aug 19 2016, 09:51 PM

Yes, the song is going to plummet regardless. There's nothing to keep it afloat. I just hope it can inch up a bit more before that happens. I fully expect it to nosedive out of the Top 50 in the next few days, but that's really OK. The fact that she made it as high as #18 probably just helped her chances of getting radio support immensely. Dua Lipa only made it to #24 initially and Anne-Marie only made it to #33 (these are the two most recent comparisons to Mollie I can think of) and they've done just fine with radio support and are both going to manage Silver singles. Very hopeful at this point!

Up to #28 on Ireland now.

Posted by: Hurricane Aug 20 2016, 07:37 AM

Been pretty steady, surprisingly but we're only barely through Day 2, so I'm not putting too much thought in that.

However, Zach, if you ever feel like it, keeping updates in her Spotify streams would be very nice. ( I'm saying That because you did keep updates on their simgles quite often in the past, so yeah you'll be good. )

Posted by: Joe. Aug 20 2016, 07:46 AM

Having this moved to the front of Hot Songs has has steadied the song. I'm pleased.

Posted by: Hurricane Aug 20 2016, 09:00 AM

Okay now the worst part begins - watching it plummet. We just have to hope it climbs on Spotify (if you go to the Livepopbars website you can view the Spotify charts) and try not to worry too much. laugh.gif The charts are completely different now and it can take ages for a song to peak.

Sigh.

I love the charts and know a lot of you guys do too, on a really other level though. And I didn't realize how bad it was when we started to criticize Nessa's chart position, I mean she didn't even had one!

Happy to see this has peaked so high on Itunes, some may think 18 isn't that high but I wasn't even expecting a Top 100 placing overall, so it'll be nice to see her achieve at least (hopefully) a Top 40 placing, if she can manage to stabilize around 20-30. Hopefully the streaming will rise along with radio play, but her youtube views are increasing and I heard it on Capital earlier so I have hope.

CompareMyRadio doesn't want to update with anything else than the BBC Radio 1 plays it got.

Posted by: Joe. Aug 20 2016, 06:28 PM

Compare My Radio is trash. It doesn't find things, also the song could be there like 6 times with different tags so it's so hard to find.

They took her off the first four Hot Songs, which is why it went from stabalising to freefalling.

It's going to be a really difficult battle for Mollie to gain support now, I really hope a radio station takes a chance on her.

I agree James, and I don't think we're being overly optimistic. Things are looking promising at this stage. Three days ago we would've been elated if we knew she was going to chart, which she will. And we also probably would've said that Top 100 was out of the question, and that seems very possible at this point too. I might be in the minority here but I think at least one of the big two will support her based off what she has accomplished with so little.

The campaign is over tbh. We're in the 3rd week of release and still there is to be any substantial promo and no radio stations have picked up on it - It would take something huge (XF or Strictly) to revive this now which is never going to happen, the fan sales have all happened and the general public have no idea it's released - The steams are coming mostly from the playlist I suspect so once it's removed the streams will plummet.

Posted by: leewallace Sep 6 2016, 01:29 PM

I'm actually expecting Mollie to get a performance on Strictly, she promised there was television promo coming and it's very reliving to see that it's #373 on iTunes and not close to dropping out etc. Bitch needs to drop to 59p on Friday and promote the following week and get that new peak of #84.

Although The Saturdays have had more airplay than Mollie in the last '30 Days' (Uh, Oh Oh).

Posted by: ___∆___ Sep 6 2016, 07:03 PM

^^ I'm not convinced a Strictly performance would even be enough, it's done little for Rebecca Ferguson who is coming for that #127 hit. Would love to see Mollie get a huge TV slot though and a 59p reduction with a 1 CD signed single for the loons laugh.gif

Posted by: Hurricane Sep 6 2016, 08:04 PM

I don't think I've ever seen an upcoming pop act in this time and age (2016, streaming and all) perform their first single on Strictly + release signed physical CDs.

Usually how it works is that they throw a lot to the wall and when something finally sticks by itself, they start the actual big promo.

Not sure if it's a X-Factor boost by mistake from last night, but The Saturdays - Issues is currently at #1424 on iTunes! biggrin.gif

It depends on the caliber of the act/the track but I don't think it's boosted Ellie's sales for SITWYM and shes pretty big, for example.

Hair Down is down to #225 on iTunes.

#77 in Ireland and #198 in the UK according to Kworb. They don't seem to be pushing it too much, as it's not even on the New Music Friday Playlist. They might be saving that spot for the album's launch.

EDIT: I see now that the album is already available in the UK, only that this is the single version...then I guess they'll promote it when he tours the UK in October with Lady Antebellum.

Posted by: DoggySwami Oct 17 2017, 10:01 AM

The most likely explanation is that the label/management/someone has put those tracks in certain playlists with some decent following.

To be fair, although it doesn't work that away, so it's still bullshit from Vanessa, Wordshaker + Headlines does equal to a platinum certification.

More depressingly, a combination from On Your Radar + Living for the Weekend probably still doesn't equal to a GOLD certification. cry.gif

It doesn't, On Your Radar should have been released off the back off All Fired Up and Living For The Weekend was just their messiest mess. There have been many suggestions, Wildfire as the single instead of Gentleman, Not Giving Up instead of Gentleman, but of course it was released off Disco Love, which pretty much didn't exist until a few weeks before it's release, so I can't help but wonder what would have happened if they didn't come across that and even that didn't go silver. I always say it and i'll say it again, their discography bothers me.

A real triumph for them is to have completely transcended the success of their breakthrough hit, Up. It seemed like an impossible task during their first campaigns, when even if they did decent numbers they could never replicate the success of their beginnings, and in the end not only they did (singles wise), but also Up has kinda been forgotten, never to be seen among their Spotify top 10 and with lower plays than Issues, for the sake of mentioning another single from the same era. It seems like Ego has taken its spot as the prominent 'classic hit.'

808 crossed over 2 million streams recently, it's still in 3rd place.

Posted by: Andrew. Dec 27 2017, 01:54 AM

808 being 3rd for a good few months now as mentioned before is weird also!

Posted by: Jay ☆ Dec 27 2017, 02:08 AM

It's so weird! I wonder what helped 808 climb as high as that? It remaining so consistent seems strange, but maybe it being directly behind What About Us & Higher is helping to keep it afloat?

Their #10 song seems to change quite regularly! Over the past few weeks I've also seen Just Can't Get Enough & Notorious enter briefly.

Another strange feature of their popular list is My Heart Takes Over, currently in 6th which makes it their 5th most streamed single currently.

Posted by: TheGrinch Dec 27 2017, 02:18 AM

808 the single that never was.

Posted by: Andrew. Dec 27 2017, 02:20 AM

I thought it could be that the Sats don’t get much ‘casual’ streams anymore minus perhaps WAU, Higher and maybe Up as they haven’t been active for a while so songs not necessarily known much by the public can get high up (that explains White Lies) but 808 isn’t particularly popular amongst the fan base iirc, certainly not that it would be their third most streamed track! It doesn’t seem to be on a popular playlist either. Don’t Let Me Dance Alone is even more baffling drama.gif The not many casual listeners argument seems less likely when you consider the Saturdays monthly listeners are quite high for how many hits they have well remembered by the GP, as much as I love them.

MHTO is on 'Cheesy Hits' which has just under 4,000 followers but almost all of their hits are on that playlists.

GH Megamix - 3,607

I always get shocked to see 'All Fired Up' (4,800,631) and 'Notorious' (4,063,468) not top 10 on their most played, 'All Fired Up' really needs more exposure on Spotify. 'Up' has horrendous streams to of (1,556,441) and at this current rate 'White Lies' will overtake 'Up' and 'What Are You Waiting For' in the next two / three weeks.

Also at this rate 'White Lies' should overtake 'What Are You Waiting For' on streams which is absolutely tragic. 'If This Is Love' is their less streamed single with 700,000 streams followed by 'Up'.

'808', 'Anywhere With You' and 'White Lies' are the only non singles to pass 1 million streams with 'Anywhere With You' having 1.14m streams (WTF) 'Faster' has 822,000 streams so should pass one million eventually along with 'Don't Let Me Dance' alone with 777,000 streams.

Finally the 'What About Us' solo mix has 2.3million streams which is actually a rather decent number.

Posted by: Frooot Jan 30 2018, 12:47 AM

Finally the most streamed Girls Aloud track is 'Sound Of The Underground' with 7,557,861 *.*

Neon Jungle, 'Braveheart' is on 14,780m and was actually ahead of 'What About Us' for a lot of last year.

Sugababes 'Push The Button' is on 22,673,692, it would be good if 'What About Us' could overtake that!

Lol at 808 being on the verge of passing Forever Is Over's combined streams.

Up (Radio Edit) was included on last week's Throwback Thursday play list... I was hoping that would help it go into their Popular Top 10! sad.gif

'Up' mustn't have got very much streams then as I'm sure 10k would have been enough to put it back into the top 10!

06. Greatest Hits Megamix (Close to 1m streams, looks like this will be their next 1 million streamed song)

10. Just Can't Get Enough

Congratulations to '808' which has managed 3 million streams on Spotify! biggrin.gif 'Just Can't Get Enough' has also just passed 3 million streams! It's actually incredible they're getting over one million a streams a month considering how long they've been split for.

'Ego' also passed 6 million streams this week cheer.gif and 'Higher' passed 15 million streams!

Higher has overtaken What About Us as their currently most popular song on Spotify. ohmy.gif

I know it doesn't particularly matter, but 808 staying firm in third place, My Heart Takes Over in fourth and White Lies 10th just seems weird to me. I wish that Up, Notorious and All Fired Up were occupying their popular Top 10 instead. Are 808/White Lies randomly on popular playlists?

I checked a few weeks ago, I can't remember about White Lies but 808 wasn't in any of their top 5 'featured playlists' on their profile and the fifth most streamed of those playlists had less than 3000 listeners so I doubt it's getting much of an effect!

Posted by: Jay ☆ Apr 30 2018, 02:16 PM

Oh how strange! I suppose the fact it's third place and behind the very popular What About Us and Higher has made it stay afloat, because of that prominence. Hmm! I wonder what made it get to third in the first place though? laugh.gif

Is it because of the songs that playback when you shuffle play The Sats? It tends to be the same songs and White Lies is usually in there with MHTO?

You could be right!

Come to think of it, when one of my playlists finished and Spotify started playing other random songs afterwards, 808 was like the second song that came up. Maybe it generates a lot of plays that way too.

Posted by: LeeWallace May 1 2018, 10:58 AM

‘Higher’ is in classic pop playlists!

I’m just shocked how much of a streaming advantage ‘808’ has over ‘What are You waiting for?’ I wonder if ‘808’ has outsold it yet?

Posted by: Jay ☆ Jul 14 2018, 10:02 AM

Just when you thought their Popular Top 10 list on Spotify couldn't look any weirder, this happened...

1. Higher [17,030,456]
2. 808 [3,724,258]
3. My Heart Takes Over [2,524,596]
4. What About Us [23,780,936]
5. Greatest Hits Megamix [1,516,106]
6. Ego [6,678,812]
7. Issues [5,032,434]
8. Just Can't Get Enough [3,336,454]
9. Disco Love [7,343,081]
10. Not Giving Up [3,284,151]

808 (a bonus track) & My Heart Takes Over (one of their least successful singles) currently more popular than What About Us (their #1 hit and biggest selling) drama.gif

Not Giving Up has recently pushed the album track White Lies out. I'm really surprised that Not Giving Up is being listened to more than All Fired Up, although I could say that for a few of the others within the Top 10 too! I suppose Up is nowhere near Top 10 because its streams are pretty much evenly split between the album version and the radio edit.

Posted by: SKepner Jul 14 2018, 10:30 AM

Their streaming numbers are so bizarre! It baffles me seeing 808 with so many streams in comparison to some of the others.

Posted by: Andrew. Jul 14 2018, 02:11 PM

Omg :’) I did think it was maybe a playlist, as ‘Long Hot Summer’ is hardly a Girls Aloud classic and it’s 4th on their most popular due to a playlist (and they have a similar amount of monthly listeners) but I can’t believe that 808 being buried on a playlist with 18k followers would make it their second most popular song...My Heart Takes Over, the megamix and previously White Lies/Anywhere With You/Don’t Let Me Dance Alone all having been in the top 10 at one point are very weird laugh.gif

Girls Aloud and Sugababes were coming towards the end of their careers by the time The Saturdays had started theirs, so I wouldn't put them in the same era tbh.

Little Mix and Spice Girls have 15.6m and 5.5m monthly listeners on Spotify respectively, so they are the real queens! cool.gif tongue.gif

Disco Love could also be coming for Silver sooner than later.

They have to be benefitting from Spotify radio or whatever it's called when someone listens to a station based on a song/artist. I was visiting friends recently (in America) and Higher came on one of those "stations."

I definitely think they're one of those acts that a well known song of them could come on and the GP would be like 'omg they had bops, I'd forgotten them!!' which explains it. Not complaining though *.*

this may be a reach but could Greatest Hits be anywhere near silver? I know it hadn't sold much when it left the chart but given it's their greatest hits I'd imagine it's picked up a fair amount of streaming points and even sales.

Thanks for the detailed update! Am I right thinking that My Heart Takes Over has made more money on streaming than with actual sales?

Omg they’ve changed the main version of higher on Spotify to the non flo rida version on their top tracks

Disco Love is at 8,053,000 now so got 240,000 streams in the past month. Surely it will be Silver eventually?

*Late* You're welcome heart.gif Re: MHTO, I'm not sure about the financial side of things, but the sales it'll have built up by streaming is likely to be a lot less than the CDs/downloads!

Hopefully this'll happen imminently, it's the least it deserves. wub.gif

By the way, Up - Radio Edit has made it into their Popular Top 10 list! It's currently #10.

808 is fast approaching 5 million... currently 4,922,747 and it's only about 11k streams behind Notorious. D:

I love your obsession with 'Up' on Spotify, I really wish all versions were combined on Spotify in general, would make me feel much easier! I'm still STRESSED out they've made their main version of 'Higher' (Top of their most five played) the one without Flo Rida. '808' the streaming smash, will no doubt overtake 'All Fired Up' soon too and the fact this will stress you out *.*

In all seriousness, '808' has already probably outsold 'What Are You Waiting For?'.

'Higher' should also pass 20m listeners in the next couple of days which is helped by it being on the classic pop hits playlist.

cry.gif !!

Some of their singles deserve more attention than they're currently getting! I can't at All Fired Up / Notorious not having a place within their Top 10 while My Heart Takes Over is third :')

Posted by: ZaraRuinMyLife Oct 28 2018, 09:40 AM

The public spoke, 'My Heart Takes Over' was ahead of it's time etc

I just find it funny that '30 Days' even gets more streams than 'Notorious' and 'All Fired Up'. In all honesty I believe 'All Fired Up' would have been a streaming smash, it could have been on dance playlists, pop playlists etc.

When Love Takes Over is 8th in their most popular list, has it been added to a playlist?

They've added their entire discography to U.S. Spotify! I can finally stream On Your Radar!

MHTO having more streams than Notorious is homophobic

Posted by: (Zach) Jan 30 2019, 03:06 AM

Higher has gotten 844k streams in four weeks! That's insane.

What About Us has gotten 371k. Ego has gotten 340k.

All the rest have gotten less than 300k.

Disco Love has gotten over 200k and it's just a matter of time before it's Silver. Wish we could get a sales update.

Posted by: TheGrinch Jan 30 2019, 11:22 AM

Why on earth is 'Higher' increasing at such a fast amount, it's not even on any popular playlist!

Posted by: Jay ☆ Feb 7 2019, 03:02 AM

Ego (3rd) has climbed above 808 (4th) heart.gif When Love Takes Over (6th) is now higher than Disco Love (7th) 👀

What About Us included on today's Throwback Thursday play list, I wonder if that'll be enough for it to get back to being their most popular? (It's currently behind Higher).

Posted by: TheGrinch Feb 7 2019, 10:14 PM

Higher is still gaining incredible streams though *.*

Hopefully what about us increase by 40-50k tomorrow though. They’re gaining 1.5m streams a month, Spotify funding their comeback single *.*

Posted by: TheGrinch Feb 8 2019, 04:29 PM

Higher is getting around 50k plays a day. Queens

Posted by: Jay ☆ Feb 16 2019, 11:49 PM

Disco Love has climbed to 4th place on Spotify! It was only 7th the other day. I'm guessing it was included on a Valentine's Day playlist??

808 out of their Top 5 *________*

1. 22,688,111 Higher
2. 26,839,317 What About Us
3. 4,888,861 My Heart Takes Over
