Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 14 to pursue a career in country music. She signed with label Big Machine Records and became the youngest artist ever signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house. Her 2006 self-titled debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US, where it peaked at number five. The album's third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Hot Country Songs chart. Meghan Elizabeth Trainor (born December 22, 1993) is an American singer-songwriter. Interested in music from a young age, she wrote, recorded, and produced three independently released albums between 2009 and 2011.

Since signing with Epic Records in 2014, Trainor has earned three top-five singles on the US Billboard Hot 100; "All About That Bass" topped the chart for eight consecutive weeks, "Lips Are Movin" consecutively became her second top-five single, and "No" became her fastest to reach the top five. Her debut major-label studio album, Title (2015), on which the former two singles are included, debuted atop the US Billboard 200 and was certified Triple Platinum by the RIAA. Her second major-label studio album, Thank You (2016), on which the latter single is included, debuted at number three in the US and was certified Platinum in the country. Her third major-label studio album, Treat Myself was released in January 2020.

Biography

J Hus, a Londoner of Gambian heritage, made a major impact on the 2010s U.K. rap scene with his distinctive blend of dancehall, grime, Auto-Tune-laced R&B, and Afro-beats. After establishing himself in 2015 with a series of freestyles and early singles, such as the heavily streamed "Lean & Bop," he broke through with his 2017 debut full-length, Common Sense, which hit the U.K. Top Ten and earned a shower of critical acclaim, garnering a Mercury Prize nomination, among other accolades.

Momodou Jallow was born and raised in Stratford, London by his single mother. Influenced by 50 Cent, he began rapping, and went professional thanks to the help of two friends, who formed 2K Management. In 2015, they recorded a handful of demos and uploaded them to the Web, cut the single "So Paranoid" with London rapper MoStack, and uploaded a set of videos, including "Dem Boy Paigon." The latter was an instant street hit and quickly earned over a million views. J Hus then dropped his debut mixtape, The 15th Day, as well as the non-album single "Lean & Bop" (his first release on Sony imprint Black Butter Records), which was streamed several million times. J Hus began 2016 with the single "Friendly," and the three-song Playing Sports EP soon followed.

The burgeoning star had a busy year in 2017, as he featured on the Nines track "High Roller" and Dave's hit "Samantha," as well as Stormzy's "Bad Boys" from his hugely successful Gang Signs & Prayer record. In May 2017, Hus released his debut LP, Common Sense, which featured guest spots from MoStack, Burna Boy, Tiggs Da Author, and MIST. The album was recognized with a Mercury Prize nomination that same year; in 2018, it won Best Album at the NME Awards, and garnered the rapper three Brit Award nominations. Biography

A London-based grime MC of Ghanaian heritage, Stormzy made a swift rise in the early 2010s to become one of the U.K.'s most critically-acclaimed artists. Climbing out of the underground grime scene, he made his breakthrough in 2017 with his platinum-certified, chart-topping debut, Gang Signs & Prayer. Within half a decade of the release of his debut EP, he was a Glastonbury festival headliner. Born Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. in the south London town of Croyden, he launched his career clashing at youth clubs around his hometown. His performances evolved from grime-only music that showed a love of artists like Skepta to more rap-oriented material that reflected Stormzy's growing appreciation for artists like Drake. Late in 2013 he began uploading his "Wicked Skengman" series of freestyles over classic grime beats; in 2014, he made his official debut with the EP Dreamers Disease. A year later he released the single "Know Me From" along with "WickedSkengMan 4," the first track in his "WickedSkengMan" freestyle series and a Top 20 hit in the U.K. That December, Stormzy performed the single's B-side, "Shut Up," at a match between heavyweight boxers Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. The song jumped into the Top 40 following the broadcast, and the rapper launched a campaign to have the song top the charts during Christmas. This boosted the track to the number eight position, and the number one position on the R&B singles chart. Before returning to the studio to record his first LP, he released non-album single "Scary" in the spring of 2016. Stormzy returned in 2017 with his official full-length debut Gang Signs & Prayer (#Merky Records), which featured the platinum single "Big for Your Boots," "Cigarettes & Cush" with Kehlani, and "Blinded by Your Grace, Pt. 2" with MNEK. The critically-lauded set debuted atop the U.K. albums chart and was soon certified platinum. In 2018, the album took home the prize for British Album of the Year and Stormzy was crowned British Male Solo Artist of the Year at the annual Brit Awards.

Riding the wave of acclaim, he was announced as one of the headliners at 2019's Glastonbury Festival. That year, he also scored his first number one single in the U.K. with "Vossi Bop." - iTunes

Biography

West London grime MC Che Wolton Grant (aka AJ Tracey) rose through the ranks of pirate radio, becoming one of the leading figures in U.K. grime's second generation of artists. Grant knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in music, due in part to his parents; not only was his dad a former rapper from Trinidad & Tobago, his mother was a former drum'n'bass DJ from Wales. By age six, Grant had started writing rhymes, coinciding with the first great boom in grime. Although the genre temporarily lost its way, Grant soldiered on, unwilling to give up on his passion for grime. By the time he had reached his early twenties, grime had started another upswing. During this time Grant became proactive in his pursuit of radio spots, working his way up through pirate radio before scoring appearances on Rinse.DM, NTS, and eventually even BBC Radio One. With his reputation in the world of radio firmly cemented, Grant released a string of EPs, beginning with The Front EP in July 2015, followed by the Alex Moran EP later the same year. In 2016, he further solidified his status as an emerging talent, with a combination of solid collaborations, more radio appearances, and the release of the Lil Tracey EP. Doja Cat, real name Amala Zandile Dlamini, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer born October 21, 1995 in Los Angeles, California. Doja Cat comes from a showbiz family: her dad Dumisani Dlamini is a South African actor, composer and film producer and her mum Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer is a painter. Doja Cat made her own musical debut when she uploaded her debut song So High on Soundcloud in 2013, and then signed a deal with RCA in March 2014. Doja Cat built up a series of releases, including one song called Mooo! wherein she pretended that she was a cow, the video of which ended up clocking over 45 million views on YouTube. Biography

There aren’t many young rap pretenders who could write a track one week, shoot its video the next, then watch it fire to nearly half a million plays and counting seven days after that. Then again, most young MCs aren’t Young T and Bugsey, the Nottingham duo whose fierce, eclectic hip-hop has turned them into ones-to-watch, championed by Stormzy, Tim Westwood and many more.

Young T and Bugsey met aged 15, having been aware of each other’s DIY recordings on separate sides of the city.

“Our sound is the both of our cultures and backgrounds without any kinda boundaries or restrictions”, say the pair, who collide murky, bass-heavy beats with sounds from their childhoods: ad libs borrowed from their respective Nigerian and Jamaican parents’ record collections, grime flows inspired by school days rapping over instrumentals nabbed from YouTube, and hooks paying homage to lazy sofa sessions in front of MTV Base. “50 Cent, Snoop, Pharrell – that era was it for us,” laughs Young T. “Hot summer days, you’d still be inside watching MTV Base, the whole day.”

Biography

J Hus, a Londoner of Gambian heritage, made a major impact on the 2010s U.K. rap scene with his distinctive blend of dancehall, grime, Auto-Tune-laced R&B, and Afro-beats. After establishing himself in 2015 with a series of freestyles and early singles, such as the heavily streamed "Lean & Bop," he broke through with his 2017 debut full-length, Common Sense, which hit the U.K. Top Ten and earned a shower of critical acclaim, garnering a Mercury Prize nomination, among other accolades.

Momodou Jallow was born and raised in Stratford, London by his single mother. Influenced by 50 Cent, he began rapping, and went professional thanks to the help of two friends, who formed 2K Management. In 2015, they recorded a handful of demos and uploaded them to the Web, cut the single "So Paranoid" with London rapper MoStack, and uploaded a set of videos, including "Dem Boy Paigon." The latter was an instant street hit and quickly earned over a million views. J Hus then dropped his debut mixtape, The 15th Day, as well as the non-album single "Lean & Bop" (his first release on Sony imprint Black Butter Records), which was streamed several million times. J Hus began 2016 with the single "Friendly," and the three-song Playing Sports EP soon followed.

The burgeoning star had a busy year in 2017, as he featured on the Nines track "High Roller" and Dave's hit "Samantha," as well as Stormzy's "Bad Boys" from his hugely successful Gang Signs & Prayer record. In May 2017, Hus released his debut LP, Common Sense, which featured guest spots from MoStack, Burna Boy, Tiggs Da Author, and MIST. When Duke Dumont topped the UK charts with his single “I Got U” in 2014, many listeners may have assumed that featured artist Jax Jones was the singer. In fact, Jones (born Timucin Aluo in 1987) was a cowriter and producer on the song, whose No. 1 position marked his auspicious debut. Raised in London by a Turkish father, a Malaysian mother and a Nigerian stepfather, Jones grew up on a mix of American hip-hop, UK dance and African music, which might help to explain the mix of styles that swirls through his music: His youthful fondness for Prince shows through in funk-infused cuts like 2015’s “Ocean Drive”, while Afro-Caribbean accents bubble up in 2018’s “Ring Ring,” a lilting tropical-house jam. Ella Henderson
Despite initially being the favorite to win, pop-soul singer/songwriter Ella Henderson finished in only sixth place on the 2012 season of the U.K.'s X Factor. However, she still secured a deal with Simon Cowell's Syco Music, becoming the series' lowest-ranked contestant to see her debut single enter the charts at number one.

Born on January 12, 1996 in the village of Tetney in Lincolnshire, England, Henderson developed a love of music early, teaching herself to play the piano before the age of ten. Almost immediately upon leaving school, she auditioned for The X Factor with her self-penned song "Missed." Biography

A London-based grime MC of Ghanaian heritage, Stormzy made a swift rise in the early 2010s to become one of the U.K.'s most critically-acclaimed artists. Climbing out of the underground grime scene, he made his breakthrough in 2017 with his platinum-certified, chart-topping debut, Gang Signs & Prayer. Within half a decade of the release of his debut EP, he was a Glastonbury festival headliner. Born Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. in the south London town of Croyden, he launched his career clashing at youth clubs around his hometown. His performances evolved from grime-only music that showed a love of artists like Skepta to more rap-oriented material that reflected Stormzy's growing appreciation for artists like Drake. Late in 2013 he began uploading his "Wicked Skengman" series of freestyles over classic grime beats; in 2014, he made his official debut with the EP Dreamers Disease. A year later he released the single "Know Me From" along with "WickedSkengMan 4," the first track in his "WickedSkengMan" freestyle series and a Top 20 hit in the U.K. That December, Stormzy performed the single's B-side, "Shut Up," at a match between heavyweight boxers Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. The song jumped into the Top 40 following the broadcast, and the rapper launched a campaign to have the song top the charts during Christmas. This boosted the track to the number eight position, and the number one position on the R&B singles chart. Before returning to the studio to record his first LP, he released non-album single "Scary" in the spring of 2016. Stormzy returned in 2017 with his official full-length debut Gang Signs & Prayer (#Merky Records), which featured the platinum single "Big for Your Boots," "Cigarettes & Cush" with Kehlani, and "Blinded by Your Grace, Pt. 2" with MNEK. The critically-lauded set debuted atop the U.K. albums chart and was soon certified platinum. In 2018, the album took home the prize for British Album of the Year and Stormzy was crowned British Male Solo Artist of the Year at the annual Brit Awards.

SAINt JHN is the shadowy, slow jam-oriented recording alias of Brooklyn native Carlos St. John. A rapper, singer, and songwriter, St. John kick-started his career during the mid-2010s by co-composing material for Kiesza ("Bad Thing," "The Love," "Piano"), Nico & Vinz (the single "Praying to a God"), Gorgon City ("Doubts"), and Usher ("Crash"), a sequence of advancements catalyzed by industry veteran Zach Katz, who had heard an early song St. John granted to a fellow fledgling artist. Biography

J Hus, a Londoner of Gambian heritage, made a major impact on the 2010s U.K. rap scene with his distinctive blend of dancehall, grime, Auto-Tune-laced R&B, and Afro-beats. After establishing himself in 2015 with a series of freestyles and early singles, such as the heavily streamed "Lean & Bop," he broke through with his 2017 debut full-length, Common Sense, which hit the U.K. Top Ten and earned a shower of critical acclaim, garnering a Mercury Prize nomination, among other accolades.

Momodou Jallow was born and raised in Stratford, London by his single mother. Influenced by 50 Cent, he began rapping, and went professional thanks to the help of two friends, who formed 2K Management. In 2015, they recorded a handful of demos and uploaded them to the Web, cut the single "So Paranoid" with London rapper MoStack, and uploaded a set of videos, including "Dem Boy Paigon." The latter was an instant street hit and quickly earned over a million views. J Hus then dropped his debut mixtape, The 15th Day, as well as the non-album single "Lean & Bop" (his first release on Sony imprint Black Butter Records), which was streamed several million times. Biography

Halsey is the alias of New York-based pop artist Ashley Frangipane. The New Jersey native took her moniker from a New York L train subway stop, and her adopted city plays a large role in both the sound and lyrics of her dark, gritty electro-pop, which has been compared to acts like Chvrches and Lorde. Based on the strength of her first single "Ghost," she signed a deal with Capitol-owned electronic/dance label Astralwerks in early 2014. Her debut EP, Room 93, arrived in October of that same year. Biography

Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band from Los Angeles, California. It currently consists of lead vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, bassist Mickey Madden, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton, and multi-instrumentalist Sam Farrar. Original members Levine, Carmichael, Madden, and drummer Ryan Dusick first came together as Kara's Flowers in 1994, while they were still in high school. After self-releasing their independent album We Like Digging?, the band signed to Reprise Records and released the album The Fourth World in 1997. The album garnered a tepid response, after which the record label dropped the band and the members focused on college. Justin Drew Bieber (/ˈbiːbər/; born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer, songwriter and actor. Born Olajide Olatunji, KSI was known as KSIOlajideBT in 2008 when he became a regular video game commentator, uploading his videos to the Web, most of them focused on the FIFA series. It was a footballer who inspired him to try his hand at rap as Emile Heskey was the topic of "Heskey Time," a satirical rap that kicked off a series of football-mocking songs, including 2012's "Sweaty Goals" with Randolph. #12 is not disappointing for Dua considering it's not the comeback single, but given the success of DSN and the incredible response to this song I'd be shocked it didn't debut top 10 if I weren't looking at the updates
