BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud

Posted by: Ryan. 14th August 2014, 08:15 PM

As we expected, it looks like the third single from Ed Sheeran's latest album is 'Thinking Out Loud'. Following 'Don't' going top 5 in Australia, https://twitter.com/bumpshow/status/499866719414804480 has tweeted that 'Thinking Out Loud' is having its radio premiere on there, therefore it looks like it is going to be the next single!

It's my favourite song from the album so I'm very pleased about it and its going to be perfect for an X Factor Performance when they get round to the third single here once 'Don't' has peaked.

This has become my favourite of his to date, I like how it's really soppy but somehow avoids being overly cheesy.

This will smash big style at the end of the year.

Gorgeous track, better be an X Factor performance lined up for it wub.gif (fairly sure there will be)

Posted by: M¤th 15th August 2014, 12:02 PM

I'm afraid this won't be very big coming X-Factor time, I think all of its potential buyers may already own it by then?

Posted by: Jonjo 15th August 2014, 01:23 PM

It will smash. Well, it's already smashing/growing in popularity and it only has minimal airplay. Major airplay and an XF performance should boost this and his album to ridiculous heights. (You watch now, the week he gets to impact on that performance, Adele will drop her album, Beyonce style and a single of hers will smash to the top laugh.gif)

I think this is my 2nd favourite from him (we all know my favourite). But it's such a good song and deserves to be the monster hit it looks likely to be.

^^If only all singles could grow like this tongue.gif

The world would truly be a richer place.

Great third single choice, the perfect execution of this era continues. I wonder if this album has the power to sell a million before the end of the year, I'm sure it'll be a huge Xmas seller so I think it could do!

Posted by: Liаm 15th August 2014, 02:53 PM

This is incredible, it's going to rightfully be massive wub.gif really hope the album can actually sell 1m before the end of the year, I prefer it to + which I still absolutely love!

Posted by: Regina 15th August 2014, 02:55 PM

I do love Ed, he is utterly adorable and I wanna go have tea with him at Courteney Cox's house, but I can't get into this sad.gif dunno why it's so popular.

Posted by: April 15th August 2014, 09:22 PM

This has become my favourite song of the album, and probably favourite ever Ed Sheeran song. It's so amazing - I hope it becomes a massive worldwide hit!

Posted by: Dobbo 16th August 2014, 09:10 AM

Boring song. Don't is far far superior.

The video is dropping by about 3pm tommorow. Ed just said on Facebook happy.gif

When's the impact date? Should move up that chart near to the top 10 now!

There isn't one according to the new release thread but I'd imagine a date will be penciled in very soon!

Can he just f*** off already?! He just seems so smug and annoying, and his music is just so .... mediocre. I really dont get the appeal.

Posted by: Dobbo 6th October 2014, 10:34 PM

This is gonna be in the charts longer than Happy isn't it? sad.gif

When you consider the inevitable X Factor performance I would say most definitely.

Oh actually I don't think it'll be around for a whole year. I'd say till March-April ish though.

Hopefully cheer.gif (doubt it though)

Looking forward to this video, still loving the song wub.gif

They should skip this in the UK and release "Afire Love" with an X Factor performance. It has the potential to be a massive hit. "Thinking Out Loud" has kinda already happened here.

I much prefer 'Afire Love' to 'Thinking Out Loud' but it's likely to be a sizable hit next year anyway (if chosen as a single of course) and 'Thinking Out Loud' still has a lot of life left in it so I don't think there's any reason to abandon it. Whatever happens, he'll be selling a lot of albums over the next few months - hopefully enough to cross the million mark.

Listen to 'Photographs'! So beautiful. wub.gif

Anyway, TOL has got loads of life in it left, it really doesn't feel like it's been as big a hit as it's current chart run suggests it has atm! It's bizarre. That's probably just down to it not having real radio backing just yet/been released properly. It'll be a certain top 3 hit I reckon. Maybe even a 'Beneath Your Beautiful' sort of boost after an inevitable X Factor performance?

No it hasn't!

Anyway, I'm actually still loving this song and I'm quite looking forward to the video.

Posted by: Dobbo 7th October 2014, 11:39 AM

Well it kinda has... 15 weeks top 40, pummeled on Heart & various other radio stations and most of the population would recognise it easily.

Posted by: mr_aly 7th October 2014, 11:45 AM

Yes, but it certainly hasn't fulfilled its full potential yet. Far from it.

Posted by: April 7th October 2014, 02:40 PM

Thinking Out Loud will hold up for a while yet. He may as well use a massive promo slot like X Factor to launch another single and sell the album.

Posted by: mr_aly 7th October 2014, 03:32 PM

I was expecting something more after how good the previous two videos were, but it's well choreographed. Does the job I suppose!

Posted by: J▲hq 7th October 2014, 04:02 PM

The song is nice but I really don't get the obsession. I find both "Afire Love" and "Photograph" to be far more stunning/superior and I wish it was one of them two getting this success - for me, "Thinking Out Loud" is quite limp in comparison. sad.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 7th October 2014, 11:03 PM

Cute video. Quite a different video to what I was expecting so that was a nice surprise. He's a bit awkward at times, but it kind of adds to the charm of the video I think. Should help the song out ridiculously too. I'm thinking he won't be on X Factor the once this year. He'll be at the final too.

Posted by: -Jay- 22nd October 2014, 01:16 AM

This is slowly turning into my favourite song of his. wub.gif

Posted by: Atonement 22nd October 2014, 06:13 AM

I disliked Ed Sheeran at the time of his first album (and I still hate those singles) but I've liked all of the 'x' singles so far! Even this droopy ballad. What is happening to me sad.gif?

Posted by: jsilv 29th October 2014, 05:32 PM

Apparently this is the artwork, sticks with the theme of the previous artwork I suppose but I think it only works for four lettered titles. This looks a bit ugly..

Posted by: florenceminogue 13th November 2014, 02:57 PM

I'm a bit confused about the upcoming Vinyl release of this.

RecordStoreDay.com have it as an Exclusive release of 3000 copies Worldwide.(28th November / Black Friday)

However, it seems to have a general release on 24th November - readily available to pre-order from Amazon and many online retailers.

Are there 2 separate 7" vinyls being released, with the tracklisting the same?

The first Ed Sheeran song i've liked

The Alex Adair remix of this is amazing, giving me chilled out Wish You Were Here theme beach vibes <3
