Can you tell us what your current product catalogue looks like and how much you are pricing each book at? smile.gif

Currently I have three books. They are all priced at £10.

Disc - Singles and Albums 1958-1967 (Albums contains full track listing for all albums that charted, in the order they appear on the record).
Record Mirror Singles - 1955-1962 (Contains full weekly charts as well)
The Decade Series Volume 1 - 1952-1959 UK Singles Chart (The NME Chart for the 1950's)

All feature B-Sides, Composer credits and Label and Catalog numbers, together with duration (for Singles)
The layout is clean and clear and sample pages are available on the website

http://thechartbook.co.uk

Coming Soon
In the works are books on
The Decade Series Volume 2 - 1960-1969 UK Singles Chart (The NME Chart for the 1960 till March 3, then Record Retailer till 1969 then the Official Chart from 1969. Includes Breakers which have not been issued anywhere)

The Decade Series Albums Volume 1 - 1956-1969 UK Album Chart (Record Mirror 1956-1958, Melody Maker 1958-1960, Record Retailer 1960-1969, and Official Chart 1969). Will contain full track listing for all charting albums and list all re-entries, something no other book does.

The BBC Chart - 1955-1969 (Singles) - Before the official chart the BBC compiled their own chart. This volume covers those charts.

I also have Melody Maker and NME which I am intending to issue in due course. The Decade Singles and Albums series will continue to the current, with a target of end of the year for the 1970's, mid next year for 1980's, end of next year 1990's, middle 2019 for the 2000's and January 1st 2020 for the current decade. Exact make up is of course to be determined. I am doing these in my spare time so things may slip a little. Other volumes as and when, meaning Melody Maker, NME, etc around these.

I've completed work on the 1960's volume of the Decade Series, listing the full UK Singles charts for 1960-1969. This contains not only the full Record Retailer charts but also the Breakers charts, researched form the original scans complete with duration, composer credits and B-Side details. These get their own line, even if they made the full Top 50.

This is the first time they have been comprehensively created in this way.

Check out the sample pages on the website, http://thechartbook.co.uk, and come back on 30 June when the book will be launched.

The 232 page volume has the important information you always wanted to see for each charted record:-

*B-Side
*Full Composer Credits
*Song Duration
*Every Re-entry shown with entry date, peak and weeks

Together with the usual information such as entry date, label and catalogue number.

An update:-

In the process of uploading and sorting for sale a book on the UK EP Charts. This should be available for sale shortly, so do check out the website. It does not include the weekly charts as I do not wish to step on the toes of another excellent book by George R. White. However, my book does contain the track listing in order which I believe has not been done before.

Price is £7.50 and I hope you like it. Sample below.

An update:

I have just launched - for free - a book covering the Billboard Albums. Well, I say free I would like donations but you can download and keep. It is only current through mid 1963 and so I'll do more updates to it depending on interest. I'm listing Album Tracks but only for the ones I have and I encourage people to assist with the missing info, or where might find it typed and ready to copy. I am mining Discogs already. Equally, if you'd like any additions (Country and R&B Albums will be added in due course).

Information here http://thechartbook.co.uk/billboard.html

A book on the Melody Maker Singles (start to 1969) in production as well, with a target date of March when it will be available to buy.

The Billboard book has been updated, with thanks to Chartaholic from UKMix. It includes up to December 1964 now and you can see the Beatles first year on the charts. I've changed layout a little to make it a bit more readable.

Do please comment and let me know what you think of the format and if anything should be changed - I want it readable!

I have created two things which can allow people - I hope - to add album trac listings to my database.

Below is a Google Form

https://goo.gl/forms/5TLSmStCqZkeHyvV2

That allows you to locate the track listing on Discogs (or similar), copy just the section containing Track Number, Title, Duration (if shown) and paste and then also add a Prodrucer Credit if known.

You also add the track ID so I know I have the right album.

With over 30,000 albums needing track details added I can do this myself, and will, but it helps if others wish to - and have the time - can do something to assist.

One thing is needed - a Track ID.

Below is a link to a Google Document listing the album title, artist, entry date, peak, label, weeks and Track ID. Only listed are ones I am missing.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_lY...dit?usp=sharing

If you do not have much time, just locate one entry. You can get your name in the free book.

Billboard Albums Update!

I have just uploaded a new version of the Billboard Albums book. No new charts, so it still ends on 31 Dec 1966, but it does have many more album tracks. And I mean MANY more. Huge thanks to Iain Moffat who has been adding tracks from, mostly, 1960. That means almost all of 1960 is now done. Tracks have also been added by others, including Herby, who has been invaluable, so we now have all tracks up to January 1956. I have also been checking more entries and have now reached 1970, just need to sort out the artist sorting to get them all in the right place.

Do please let me know if you spot any errors.

No because this book is for the Melody Maker charts which where compiled by Melody Maker and not Billboard. Have a look at the sample I provide as that shows exactly what you get with one page from each section shown.

I'm in the process of re-building my website, so if you spot any bad links, do let me know. It also means that a couple of the books are offline for purchase right now. Other things will be added as well, as I transition to a Wordpress website layout which means I can accept comments and also make amendments more easily. Plus, I can give updates as to what's going on!

Some of you may be interested in the latest chart book I've just published.

Billboard began publishing charts in the 1930’s, but this, the Best Sellers In Stores Chart, was the first anywhere in the world to feature data gathered from actual over the counter sales. In this book we trace the history of this chart from the start to its end in 1958, several weeks after the Hot 100 had begun.

This book has the important information you always wanted to see for each charted record:-

B-Side
Full Composer Credits
Song Duration
Every Re-entry shown with entry date, peak and weeks
Full Weekly Charts! (A special bonus section at the back lists each and every weekly chart position used to compile the data in the book).
Together with the usual information such as entry date, label and catalogue number.

Don’t miss adding this much sought after chart collection to your archive!

PDF download – £10

Once again, another book has been added to the website, together with a re-ordering of the site to (hopefully) make navigation easier.

The new book focuses on Billboard Albums between 1945 and 1959 and includes the EP chart and numerous other charts dedicated to albums in the same period.

Billboard began publishing an Album chart in 1945 and this book collects all of those published within this period, as well as the Billboard EP chart, which listed, in it’s easy days, some albums as well.

Full track listing of each album is shown, with tracks in the order they appeared on the release as well as their durations.

This is the first time these have been listed in this format making this a unique collection.

PDF download – only £10.

This book has 357 pages and needs to be seen to be understood. Click the link to view a sample.

I can highly recommend the 1980 book which I received this week. Excellent and loads of facts and trivia.
