QUOTE(VH1 Interview)
Can you share details about your sophomore album?

Yeah! I’ve been really excited. I’ve been working with some of my favorite producers from the past. I’m working with Rich Reynolds. I’m working with Dr. Luke. It’s like starting to try new things and see the evolution of material because it’s definitely evolving. It’s exciting.

yes for dr. luke,

CAN ANY OF US REALLY WAIT?

Posted by: Jack 17th June 2015, 06:07 PM

I really hope she can breakthrough with this album, her album was one of the best albums I have heard in a long time.

Posted by: Jonjo 17th June 2015, 11:03 PM

I think working with Dr. Luke should hopefully help her get that breakthrough smash she really needs. She also strikes me as the kind of artist who won't put out anything unless she's happy with it, so I don't think it'll be quite AS commercial as we think it will be, but will be more commercial/generally appealing to the average Joe overall than 'Aquarius' was/is!

SO excited for this. Another year or so though? Ugh.

"The new era is approching"

Posted all on her social media accounts!

IT'S TIME GUYS. IT'S TIME.

Yasssss. BRING IT T!

How does she do it? She works so bloody fast kink.gif

Posted by: Cameron 8th July 2015, 12:53 PM

I am more than ready for this!

Posted by: Jack 13th July 2015, 06:18 PM

I really hope this is the album she breaks through to the mainstream with! Even if she doesn't, I'm sure the music will be amazing wub.gif.

QUOTE
Now, less than a year after Aquarius, while opening for Nicki Minaj and prepping for a run *supporting Katy Perry, she has found time to record 30 tracks for her new, as-yet-untitled album, *tentatively scheduled for November on RCA.
QUOTE
Tinashe's new music plays across genres, going dance-pop on Martin's "Player"; ratchet on "Joyride," produced by Hit-Boy and Travis Scott; and hip-hop on substance-praising anthem "Party Favors," by Boi-1da. Joel Compass (FKA Twigs) assists on the *sensual "Fire and Flames," while Nic Nac (Chris Brown, Tyga) and indie fave Dev Hynes follow up their smoldering Aquarius contributions. Now all Tinashe needs, she says, is for RCA to catch up to her work ethic.

"There's politics involved in *everything. It's about them getting it together to master my schedule. The old rules of 'we need to work this album for the next two years' don't apply anymore."

So glad it's coming so very soon! Think she could really blow up this era, looking at those producers. My number 1 anticipated album.

Posted by: ┌ ╫ ┘ 2nd September 2015, 12:39 AM

'player' is produced by the max martin btw. i imagine it'll be a martin lead single they'll go for. she's done at least eight songs with him already *.*

Posted by: Jonjo 2nd September 2015, 01:05 AM

I'm happy with waiting until November for SOMETHING. Really hoping that all of this propels her into the big time! Looking forward to hearing what this album sounds like!

Posted by: dhwe 2nd September 2015, 01:25 AM

Omg yes *.* Aquarius defined my fall/winter, can't wait for this new album to do the same!

Posted by: Henderella 2nd September 2015, 07:08 AM

let's hope it won't be as dull as the debut.

Posted by: Cameron 2nd September 2015, 05:18 PM

It's called 'Joyride'

Posted by: Jonjo 2nd September 2015, 05:32 PM

SHE WON'T BE IGNORED. SHE WON'T BE IGNORED.

*dead*

(but I think 'Joyride' will just be the first song she releases from the album, not sure if it'll be the album title - but we'll see!)

Posted by: mr_pmt 2nd September 2015, 05:37 PM

AHHHH. Seriously can't wait!

Posted by: Cremey 2nd September 2015, 05:41 PM

There's an article / interview on Rolling Stone in which she says 'Party Favors' will be coming in the next week or so! That's the one I'm most excited about from everything that's been said about it! Can't wait.

Posted by: Davidson 9th September 2015, 05:13 PM

'Party Favors' apparently coming on Friday. No word if it's first official single or a buzz track.

Bring it onnnnn!

Posted by: Juan Carlos 9th September 2015, 07:43 PM

"Party Favors" has been uploaded on her Soundcloud account. It features Young Thug.

Posted by: Jonjo 9th September 2015, 07:58 PM

It's great. Not single material, but it'll work great as an album/buzz track! I'm wanting something a bit 'All Hands On Deck'/'2 On' for the first single. Something that will break her out more to the general public!

Posted by: Davidson 9th September 2015, 08:27 PM

This can be her 'The Hills' before her 'Can't Feel My Face' moment.

Love love love it as a buzz track wub.gif

Posted by: Cameron 9th September 2015, 08:43 PM

wub.gif Perfect as a buzz single!

Posted by: ┌ ╫ ┘ 10th September 2015, 10:07 AM

its nice but i feel i've heard it all before both with tinashe and the feat'd artist when it's a total ode to young thug's 'check'...

i feel mildly apprehensive as i don't know why you'd choose to launch the era that revolutionises your career with a song we might as well have heard as 15 different past iterations. where is the perspective or the long-game?

BLIND FAITH AND HOPE nonetheless and like the casually boujy gay i am holds out hope for that martin single thanx u

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 10th September 2015, 04:21 PM

She's doing some tour dates in December... yet she's not announced it yet!

Posted by: Cremey 10th September 2015, 07:09 PM

Absolutely adore this, So captivating. I really hope we get a video.

I'm sure the lead single will be something much more commercial, this is such a great introduction to the new era though!

She cancelled sad.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 28th September 2015, 11:05 PM

Cancelled what?

Posted by: Davidson 11th October 2015, 08:59 PM

So in her most recent interview she claimed there is no set release date yet but it will "hopefully be the end of this year or the beginning of next".

I thought next month was a bit too good to be true. To be fair, I think for this to be a far bigger commercial success than 'Aquarius', to release it so soon would be slightly silly, as much as I just want to have it ASAP. She needs to work on building up 'Player' with a wonderful video and some promo first and try and get a hit before dropping the album. I think taking their time may be slightly better.

Posted by: Jonjo 11th October 2015, 09:04 PM

Agreed. I think a middle of Jan release could be good and benefit her and get her a top 40 album over here, this time. (Providing she gets playlisted for a single or two by R1 & has promo lined up for it)

Posted by: Davidson 11th October 2015, 09:18 PM

Oh well. At least we have new material to tide us over. This has just came out, a collaboration with Snakehips and Chance The Rapper and it's so so good. She really is becoming the queen of unexpected features.

Posted by: Jonjo 11th October 2015, 10:05 PM

Non surprisingly, I really love that. The chorus seems like it was meant for Rihanna? But Tinashe's voice makes my heart melt. So beautiful <3

Posted by: Davidson 28th October 2015, 11:40 AM

She confirmed in an interview the album will be coming out on January 8th.

I'm okay with waiting until the competition is less heavy. If she were to release now she would get completely swallowed up.

She's been dropping so many song titles in interviews lately, and here is what we have so far:

Player (Wolf Cousins)
Party Favors (Boi-1da)
Joyride (Hit-Boy & Travi$ Scott)
Prisoner (Wolf Cousins)
Fearless
Fire & Flames (Joel Compass)
Touch
Soul Glitch (Dpat)
Ghetto Boy (Dev Hynes)
Coldish (self-produced)
Anything Goes
Fire

Also Max Martin and Dr. Luke tracks on the album too, whether the titles of those tracks are in the above list or not is unknown. Love the titles so much and they are getting me even more excited for this.

Posted by: Davidson 4th January 2016, 09:45 PM

Obviously this isn't getting released this month then, she tweeted yesterday that the record is only "90% finished". I would far rather wait anyway to be honest, I don't want someone of her potential to flop because of lack of hype. Hopefully 'All My Friends' will continue to rise over the next few weeks and become a proper smash and will get her name out there. If it does become big, she should at least have it as a bonus track on 'Joyride'. Then if that helps her get her name out there, she can drop single two around March and that can do what 'Player' didn't manage to? Wishful thinking probably, but we shall see.

Anyway DJ Mustard song 'Secret' has leaked. Apparently it is a reject from the studio sessions and definitely won't be on 'Joyride' but I am happy to have it to jam to. Definitely not the best she is capable of, but rather lovely for reject standard:

Posted by: mr_pmt 4th January 2016, 10:10 PM

I honestly prefer that to 'Player'.

Posted by: Jack 5th January 2016, 09:31 AM

I'm kind of annoyed this isn't coming out this month, I was really looking forward to new Tinashe as there is NO new music around at the moment sad.gif. Still, I understand the reasoning. I hope this is the album to put her on the map but I am still doubtful.

New buzz track:

I do love the production and it is very true to old school mixtape Tinashe which I like but I can't help but feel slightly underwhelmed. I feel like all of 'Player', 'Party Favors' and now 'Energy' have been very strong in a 8.0/10.0 way rather than hitting the massive highs we saw on 'Aquarius'. I think it's because I love 'Aquarius' so much that I feel like this but I just feel like if you put any of the three new songs on her first album they would only be better than 'Far Side Of The Moon' and 'Pretend'.

Glad to have new music again though and I am so happy this campaign seems to have moved forward.

Posted by: Cremey 19th January 2016, 11:14 PM

'Party Favors' is definitely up there with her best for me! Still listening to it every day and it's my most played Tinashe track now! So good. 'Player' was good at first but got old very quickly, definitely weaker than most of 'Aquarius' if not all of it.
I'm liking the sound of 'Energy', I love the more subdued tracks. Think it could be one to worm its way into my brain.

Posted by: Davidson 24th January 2016, 02:37 PM

http://www.at40.com/news-article/tinashe-reveals-3-surprises-about-her-upcoming-album/39663

It looks as though the push-backs may have been due to a change of heart over the album sound. The fact that most of the tracks were either recorded in her home studio or with the same producers that worked on 'Aquarius' says to me that they weren't convinced that the more poppy route of 'Player' was what they completely wanted.

Also another new song next week. Hopefully this one will actually be official single #2 after 'Player' as we really need it now (& hopefully it can capitalise off the success of AMF)

Posted by: Cameron 25th January 2016, 10:05 AM

I am so confused, I read online that this is now out on the 29th (Friday!?)

Posted by: Davidson 25th January 2016, 01:13 PM

There is no way in hell they are going to release it out of the blue, they don't want her having two flop albums.

As she said in the video I posted above she said new music was coming in the next week so maybe she is releasing the title track on Friday and someone has misunderstood?

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 25th January 2016, 02:54 PM

But with the success of 'All My Friends' be noted as poppier = better.

Posted by: Davidson 31st January 2016, 04:50 PM

Just said in a radio interview an hour ago that the album is being released in March and also confirmed the album will indeed include 'All My Friends' within the tracklist.

I have faith that this time it's for real given the tour dates. Getting a new single anytime now would be great then T.

Posted by: Jonjo 2nd February 2016, 03:01 AM

Semi related, but Billboard published a video of the top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and as it came to Rihanna - Work at number 9, the audio was Tinashe's 'Watch Me Work'! laugh.gif laugh.gif

Amazing.

Metro Boomin heart.gif

Posted by: Davidson 3rd February 2016, 12:36 AM

So according to the description in this video, it appears it is single two?

I was about to say that I loved it and that I was glad it was so much better than 'Energy' but as an official single I'm left really disappointed again. Was she really expecting to smash with this? So much for the 'I won't be ignored' tag line for the trailer for Joyride. This new material is going to make sure you are ignored. As an album track I'd more than enjoy it, it's just I had bigger hopes for my girl sad.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 3rd February 2016, 01:40 AM

Yeah. This is definitely not a smash. It's not even a minor hit. It's possibly my least fave thing I've heard so far. I don't mean that in a "omg it's f***ing awful/unlistenable". It's just so... nothingy. sad.gif

Posted by: mr_pmt 3rd February 2016, 12:05 PM

I've pretty much lost complete interest at this point. sad.gif

Posted by: Cameron 3rd February 2016, 12:45 PM

I hope it is just another buzz single because it will not get picked up by mainstream radio sad.gif

Posted by: Jack 3rd February 2016, 12:46 PM

I've never been disappointed in anything Tinashe related until this sad.gif. I hope it doesn't end up being a single.

Posted by: Davidson 3rd February 2016, 01:39 PM

I'm just hoping that it's going to be an ANTI type scenario whereby the campaign is so messy and the songs heard before are disappointing and then BAM, the album is a fantastic record and could even rival Aquarius.

I just don't really get what's happening here

Posted by: Ryan. 3rd February 2016, 07:11 PM

A Tinashe single getting underwhelming reviews even on Buzzjack? It really must be dreadful! ohmy.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 3rd February 2016, 09:18 PM

That's the thing, it's not dreadful! laugh.gif It's just so uneventful that there's literally nothing in the song to like (or dislike)... I don't think the production is anything special either sad.gif

Posted by: Davidson 6th February 2016, 08:25 PM

So it has been revealed that 'Ghetto Boy' is produced by Devonte Hynes and was co-written by Nicola Roberts.

Sounds like it could have a hell of a lot of potential if it had some good production behind it, it is almost calling for a 'Problem' like breakdown wub.gif

Posted by: mr_pmt 18th February 2016, 03:38 PM

I actually really like that, I believe more than anything else I've heard from this era. It's also very short (but sweet).

It's a lot more of a commercialised sound for her though.

Posted by: mr_pmt 23rd February 2016, 03:27 PM

Posted by: mr_pmt 6th April 2016, 09:58 AM

I always thought the original intended release date of this was a tad ambitious.

Posted by: Jonjo 6th April 2016, 10:21 AM

DEVASTATED! FFS.

Posted by: Davidson 6th April 2016, 11:01 AM

This whole thing annoys me so much as it has all happened because RCA are so desperate for a hit.

'Aquarius' was the best platform to build from - the album got universal acclaim and became somewhat of a 'cult forum classic' in the space of a year. Sure, sales weren't too amazing, but her name was out there, she was getting good views on the music videos she was dropping and people were talking about her in a positive light due to the musical output being so strong.

Now nearly 9 months after she first started teasing the follow up on social media we are no further forward. Constant pushbacks, singles being released without any real commitment to them meaning songs like 'Ride Of Your Life' are sat on less than 1 million view on YouTube after a whole 2 months of being released (I think Player had hit a million within around 3 days), postponing a tour half way through when shows were selling out and doing well (if they didn't want to tour before Joyride was released, they should have never have started it in the first place).

Apart from getting T a feature on 'All My Friends' (which RCA are letting completely flop in the US due to not properly pushing it) I can't think of how else RCA could attempt to kill the hype for this anymore than they already are. I am very annoyed for her.

Posted by: Cameron 6th April 2016, 11:05 AM

I wish they would push her material outside of the US. I mean, Player managed to go top 40 on iTunes in the UK without any promotion and radio play! It could have been a 'Do It Again' sized hit.

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 7th April 2016, 08:00 AM

It's bizarre. They've announced another show at KoKo with no push whatsoever.

Posted by: Davidson 27th April 2016, 08:10 PM

So a song called 'Joyride' has now been registered under Rihanna's name as a new track for R9, and according to screen-grabs Tinashe is claiming that it is indeed the title track for this album which RCA have now sold to Rihanna, removing all her vocals from the track.

It is meant to be the title track and they do this? She just embarked on the 'Joyride' tour. It's as if RCA are deliberately trying to embarrass her, what kind of a move. They obviously have 0 respect and 0 faith in her, I'm fuming for her.

Posted by: Jonjo 27th April 2016, 10:42 PM

That's absolute bullshit. What kinda shitty move was that? mellow.gif Well, at least we know a bit of the problem as to why 'Joyride' has been delayed so many times and is forever in production! :\ RCA are always quite shit though, aren't they? That is horrendous for her and heartbreaking!

Posted by: Cameron 27th April 2016, 10:49 PM

I am praying the album still goes ahead. I am gutted for her, especially because it is the title track sad.gif

Posted by: Jack 1st May 2016, 10:40 PM

Rihanna wishes she had an ounce of talent and as much creativity in her music as Tinashe does. So annoying.

i think we can all agree both Rihanna and tinashe are incredibly talented popstars

The backing track of that almost copies from Mariah's 'Fantasy' in the way Fleur's 'More and More' does from 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody'.

(Kind of like it though)

*Late* but that Tinashe song is essentially a cover of Tom Tom Club's 'Genius of Love', with some minor lyric changes. The reason why it sounds like a copy of Mariah is because 'Fantasy' heavily samples 'Genius of Love'!

Tinashe's 'Genius of Love' was used in Target advertisements. I agree that it's not great, although it seems like they weren't aiming for it to be anything more than something cute & cheesy for the advert. It's a pity, because that song + Tinashe really could have been very cool. It's certainly a world away from Mariah's glorious 'Fantasy'. *.*

~

Eek at 'Joyride' being snatched for Rihanna! Have RCA completely lost faith in Tinashe? Album release date delays, tour cancellations, now a track of hers being sold (the title track, no less)... it's hard not to assume that her career is in major crisis at this point? sad.gif

Announcement that new single should be coming in the next 2-3 weeks, the album should be coming late summer/fall and she has stated "I’ve got a lot of features coming up soon, on other people’s stuff" to look forward to over the next few months.

So glad that she is about to come back fighting after all the set-backs. Got faith that she can come back with something killer and get this era kick-started again, no more false starts please.

Posted by: Cameron 25th June 2016, 06:20 PM

Finally! I was wondering what was going to happen after Joyride being sold off ohmy.gif

Posted by: Davidson 27th June 2016, 06:41 AM

White blank pictures being posted all over her social media.

Seems like something is definitely brewing dance.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 27th June 2016, 11:32 AM

Yay! I've been missing her far too much. Still gutted about 'Joyride' being sold off too, but hopefully she'll have some new stuff that's better <3

Posted by: Davidson 20th July 2016, 10:38 AM

Another fun collab whilst we wait:

I actually love her contribution on this, her voice is so naturally sexy that it goes so well.

Posted by: Cremey 20th July 2016, 10:31 PM

By far the best of the three new tracks!
Love a good reggaeton beat heart.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 21st July 2016, 06:15 PM

Can that Enrique song become a big summer smash please? Addicted!

Posted by: Jake 16th August 2016, 03:40 AM

the Enrique original is my song of the summer / the Spanglish remix is just life

Posted by: Cameron 17th August 2016, 03:06 AM

So this is coming in October now!

Posted by: Jonjo 5th September 2016, 07:51 PM

SLAY ME!

Posted by: Davidson 5th September 2016, 09:10 PM

That 'Sex With Me' remix is so pointless and a bit cringey tbh but I still kinda like it kink.gif

Posted by: Davidson 7th September 2016, 10:56 AM

So 'Joyride' feat. Travis Scott leaked ohmy.gif

Can't say I'm massive on it anyway.

Posted by: Cameron 7th September 2016, 01:30 PM

Is that the same joyride that was sold to Rihanna?

Posted by: Davidson 7th September 2016, 04:53 PM

Indeed, it is that track.

I take back what I said about the track, I think with more mastering and production tweaks it has the potential to be great. The deep breathy vocals in the verses remind me of her early mixtape stuff. I just think the drums behind the first part need to be more punchy and better mixed. They sound quite tinny just now but I am willing them to almost be like 'Power' by Kanye type drums. Funny as the last part with Travis and the outro almost sounds MBDTF-esque.

Posted by: Davidson 10th September 2016, 08:36 AM

So quite a few retailers have placeholders for the album with a release date of October 14th ohmy.gif

Posted by: Davidson 13th September 2016, 10:21 PM

Releasing promo single 'Company' this Friday.

She has apparently labelled it her favourite song from the entire album so I am really hoping for big things. C'mon dance.gif

Posted by: Cameron 13th September 2016, 10:27 PM

I pray she delivers, she is too good to go unnoticed sad.gif

Posted by: Cremey 13th September 2016, 10:38 PM

Cannot WAIT. I'm not sure what to expect at all really though! Hopefully nothing like 'Super Love' and more in line with 'Party Favors' heart.gif

Can't tell too much, but it def sounds moodier and darker from 'Superlove'

Posted by: Jake 15th September 2016, 01:10 AM

i have yet to be grabbed by anything this era and i feel like 'company' is unlikely to change that. for someone with so much goodwill/ potential i really cannot fathom this second era... 😟

Posted by: Cremey 15th September 2016, 06:39 AM

Ok that trailer actually makes Super Love sound actually good? Clearly all it needed was to be slowed down :')

Posted by: Davidson 15th September 2016, 11:13 AM

Okay, I like this. It's a good vibey song but again it's nothing spectacular. The fact she says this is her favourite on the album makes me worried.

I need something more melodic and even moodier from her but she doesn't seem to be offering that this era.

Posted by: Cameron 15th September 2016, 11:54 AM

Yeah, this is disappointing, although I would put it above Ride Of Your Life

Posted by: Liаm 15th September 2016, 03:03 PM

Company is the best so far for me! It still would't be a fave if it was on Aquarius though, this campaign is really really disappointing.

Posted by: Davidson 18th September 2016, 04:33 PM

The level of improvement in live vocals is astonishing. I'm still letting the song grow on me and I am enjoying it more.

Posted by: Jonjo 19th September 2016, 06:37 PM

Really liking 'Company'. It's nothing "amazing" or special, but I like it.

Listening to Britney's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7C81XlD0rs got me thinking that Tinashe really could've done something special with it. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if it was one of the songs she worked on with DJ Mustard for 'Aquarius', but decided not to go for it.

Posted by: Cameron 27th September 2016, 06:54 PM

Okay, she really needs a song on this as good as Wildfire. Falling in love with it all over again heart.gif

Posted by: Davidson 7th October 2016, 01:50 PM

Not at this being better than all of her Joyride singles so far:

I am so fricking ready. wub.gif

Every one else may have given up on her, but I am still 100% here for her. Even her "sell out" efforts. 'Flame' is outstanding still. Pretty sure it would've been a huge hit had it had a bigger name attached to it.

The second single off the Tringle is out!! This is the best thing she has done since Player (Flame aside)

YES YES YES it is giving me Aquarius mixed with Nightride vibes ughhhh

Posted by: Jonjo 12th February 2018, 07:36 PM

Very good. I prefer 'No Drama' but it's yet again another solid effort from her heart.gif

Posted by: Liаm 12th February 2018, 09:56 PM

Good enough but No Drama is FAR better tbh

Posted by: Davidson 12th February 2018, 10:22 PM

It is pretty good but definitely isn't my favourite by her. 'No Drama' is miles better.

It feels like something she could have written for the Fifth Harmony album mixed with Ciara's 'Dance Like We're Making Love'.

Posted by: Davidson 13th February 2018, 01:40 PM

Okay, I take back what I said yesterday about 'Faded Love'. It's actually very good and growing massively. A solid 8/10 effort.

Apparently this is confirmed to be coming in April. Feels too good to be true cry.gif

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🌴 16th March 2018, 08:42 PM

The album will be released on April 13.

Posted by: Cameron 16th March 2018, 09:14 PM

Thank goodness! Hopefully after this si finally out she can find herself a label who will promote her

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🌴 19th March 2018, 10:08 PM

The pre-order of the album will be on March 30 according to her Instagram stories. Also, looks like "Me So Bad" is going to be out this week.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 19th March 2018, 11:14 PM

So funny how we got trailers for this album nearly 3 years ago. I wonder if it's a completely different album/vision to what she started out with? If so, how many times it got redone despite keeping the same title?

Posted by: Jüpiter 19th March 2018, 11:19 PM

No Drama is such a grower. I'm really glad she's gone back urban after that brief flirtation with becoming a pop girl.

Posted by: Cameron 19th March 2018, 11:56 PM

I'm expecting a 35 track extravaganza.

Posted by: Cremey 20th March 2018, 11:28 PM

So excited for this. She’s become my 7th most played artist ever despite only releasing one album :’) (not quite as good as Cassie in 2nd with only one album too but 💁🏼‍♂️). Quite surprised it’s still called Joyride to be honest, I imagine it’s changed quite a bit since the original idea for the album.

Hoping for an album in the vein of Ride of Your Life / Sacrifices / No Drama 🔥🔥🔥

Posted by: Davidson 21st March 2018, 10:39 PM

I heard that this only has 10 tracks.

If that is true, I will f***ing riot.

Posted by: jjake 21st March 2018, 11:07 PM

well let’s hope it includes nothing we’ve heard yet then

Posted by: Cameron 27th March 2018, 08:09 PM

Track list is out. 13 songs with interludes. TBH I was expecting a bigger album but I can see this being her last album with RCA.

I am so excited and ready!

Posted by: Liаm 27th March 2018, 08:14 PM

Intrigued by a Little Dragon collab ohmy.gif

Posted by: Jüpiter 27th March 2018, 08:15 PM

The fact she's collabing with Little Dragon ohmy.gif such a random choice but I'm already stanning it

Posted by: Jonjo 30th March 2018, 12:21 AM

Ok. 'Me So Bad' is sfg!!

It won't be, but it's such a streaming friendly song!! So instant and so lush. wub.gif

Posted by: Liаm 30th March 2018, 12:29 AM

I'm not that fussed on Me So Bad sad.gif It's ok but nothing I'm going crazy over or rushing back to.

Posted by: Cameron 30th March 2018, 09:11 AM

Ugh, I just want her to have the standard that was on Aquarius. I'm not here for these basic collaborations with 'current' rappers. Gimme an All Hands On Deck, 2 On, Feels Like Vegas and Wildfire ASAP

Posted by: Cameron 30th March 2018, 09:11 AM

Posted by: Jonjo 30th March 2018, 05:22 PM

That video is great! She looks incredible. (Also, it's currently #3 on trending there and has 450k+ views already so far!)

The song is really hitting the spot for me. I'm (a little bit) surprised that the other stans (Liam/Cameron at least), aren't feeling it (I'm also assuming everyone else too, considering no one else has bothered to comment laugh.gif)

It's my fave out of the 3 we've heard so far!

Posted by: Jüpiter 30th March 2018, 07:13 PM

She looks so good in the video! Also, great song. Love to see this being the one that finally launches her.

Posted by: Jack 31st March 2018, 09:21 AM

I’m not huge on it sad.gif It sounds pretty generic for her.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 31st March 2018, 10:12 AM

Yeah Me So Bad is a bit generic for me she’s had better . Looking forward to the Album nevertheless though !

Posted by: Jack 31st March 2018, 01:42 PM

I may be in the minority but I prefer 'Player', 'Superlove' and 'Flame' over the three songs we've heard so far. Oops.

'No Drama' is good but the other two, eh.

Posted by: Liаm 31st March 2018, 02:13 PM

Nah me too! I probably prefer No Drama to Superlove (the original anyway, the Danny L Harle remix is AMAZING) but I haven't really gone back to Faded Love (I just had to look up what the other single was!) and Me So Bad hasn't hit me at all. It all feels a bit "please give me a hit" by doing generic Spotify ready R&B, I know Superlove/Flame/Player were pop money shots but they felt like she was naturally progressing to being a bit more poppy without losing herself *too* much, whereas this all feels like a step back. It feels like if she did an album before Aquarius and wasn't quite ready and made a safe enough album that nobody took notice of, rather than being a step forward from that era :/

Posted by: Jonjo 31st March 2018, 02:27 PM

'Flame' is one of my absolute faves. I'm still convinced that if it was one of the bigger pop girls it would've been one of those big top 20 smashes at the least.

'Superlove' and 'Player' are great too though!

'Me So Bad' is just really hitting the mark for me and I don't know why it is, but not really connecting with many others. laugh.gif sad.gif

'Faded Love' is my least fave from her in a while though. I find it a bit boring.

Posted by: Jonjo 3rd April 2018, 09:58 AM

In case there is anybody still interested, there will be a physical of this album! I've pre-ordered ofc.

Posted by: Cameron 3rd April 2018, 08:56 PM

Oh in terms of 'all' the Joyride singles I would go

Player>>Flame>>>>>>Superlove>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Faded Love>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>No Drama>>Me So Bad

Posted by: HausofTroye 3rd April 2018, 08:59 PM

'Player' is DEFINITELY the best. I am still so excited for this album even if no one outside of Buzzjack is :')

I listened to 'Aquarius' for the first time in a while yesterday and it's just as sublime as ever. A true masterpiece.

Posted by: Cremey 3rd April 2018, 11:18 PM

As if it’s finally here in three days 😍
‘No Drama’ is my favourite song of the year and the best thing she’s done in ages so I’m hoping at least some of the rest of it is up to that standard. ‘Me So Bad’ is ok but pretty non-descript, not what I want from her really. Wouldn’t mind it so much if it finally gave her a hit but I think those days are long gone now :’(

Posted by: Jonjo 12th April 2018, 08:59 AM

This is a nice album. That is pretty much all it is. It's very, record label clearly see talent, but want too much input and restricts the artist. I'm still purchasing it as, like I said, it's actually quite a good album. However, I'd have just preferred if they issued 'N1GHTR1DE'/removed a couple of tracks and replaced with newer songs and given us that on CD instead.

But it's very much a "just throwing this out there to get out of my contract" album.

Don't expect anything close to 'Aquarius' (or even 'N1GHTR1DE') but it's nice enough. I'm positive someone will take something away from it.

Oh and y'all are messed up coz 'Me So Bad' has become one of my fave recent Tinashe songs ph34r.gif

Posted by: Jack 12th April 2018, 09:06 AM

I'm not really expecting much anyway, the three songs I've heard from it so far are just okay really. I like them, but I know she is capable of much much better.

Posted by: Cameron 12th April 2018, 03:03 PM

He Don't Want It is the closest thing to the Aquarius sound that they are going to let her recreate. I bloody love it.
Also, I can see why Rihanna wanted the Joyride track. It is very her. Ooh La La is also good, the squeaking chair is going to kill me though laugh.gif

Posted by: Cameron 12th April 2018, 03:11 PM

Stuck With Me is a solid 11/10. Fires and Flame is also lovely

Posted by: Cameron 13th April 2018, 04:52 PM

The album is now on Youtube

This is definitely the best track on it

Posted by: Jüpiter 13th April 2018, 04:57 PM

That random relevance for Little Dragon...wish I'd been a fly on the wall to how THAT collab came about, I can't imagine either being big fans of the other's work!

'Joyride' [song] is probably my favourite. So good! I can 100% hear Riri on it so it's no surprise it was linked to her in some way or another. In fact you could probs be forgiven for thinking it was more Rihanna feat. Tinashe or something! laugh.gif

Posted by: Liаm 19th April 2018, 12:52 AM

Pretty disappointed in this album sad.gif Joyride and Stuck On You are great but No Drama is still the best on the album and I don't think I'll go back to anything that much bar the aforementioned 3 and maybe Fire and Flames.
