Well it only feels right to begin newsletter #69 with... Music video for 34+35 on the way This week it's been all eyes on '34+35' on Ariana's social media. Firstly, she posted a pouting selfie alongside the song title and emojis that insinuate a video shoot. Yesterday she went one step further by posting a short teaser video of a scientific themed video for this single. She's truly switching up positions from president to scientist! Are you looking forward to the video? 'pov' becomes the latest song to chart from 'positions'! This week 'pov' became the fourth song to chart from the 'positions' era (following the title track, '34+35' and 'motive') due to TikTok users latching on to it. It debuted at #22 on Friday! Congratulations to Ariana. It was also announced that the album dropped to #3 this week behind Kylie Minogue and Little Mix. 'positions' single spends a 3rd week at #1! This week's exciting news doesn't end there as Ariana kept up her position at the top of the U.K. chart for a third week! Congratulations once again. '34+35' music video is out now! On Tuesday we were treated to visuals for '34+35'! It was released at a sensible time in the U.K. for once as 9am in the U.S. translated to 5pm here. Ariana was a president in the 'positions' video and now she takes more of a scientific turn. Memorable scenes include her homage to Fembot from Austin Powers and Ariana even attempting the splits during the more choreography heavy parts. The video is already well on its way to 30 million views. Have you checked it out yet? Be sure to let us know what you think! How many weeks will 'positions' spend at #1? This week it was announced that Ariana has spent a 4th week at the top of the UK chart with 'positions' - fending off competition from Billie Eilish and Radio 2 All-stars! A Sweetener World Tour movie has been rumoured for a whole year now after fans were spotted with a camera crew at certain shows. Now, we finally get to see this concert film in action and it goes by the name of 'excuse me, i love you' - a sentimental lyric taken from the Ariana song 'R.E.M.'. This is due to be released on Netflix as soon as December 21st. A trailer is out and shows Ariana at both her most vulnerable and jokey self. This is her first ever single to peak at #3 despite having as many as 11 top 3 hits to her name. A huge congratulations to Ari, Doja and Megan on this latest smash for the trio. Ariana Singles KO • Round 1 This week we decided to join in with the Singles KO trend, originally started by the Gaga AF, as Ari has already added more to her discography since the previous Singles Rate we did. Random.org has thrown up some TOUGH battles so make sure to have your say! There are several sets of duals and you have to bold your favourite in each. The winners of each dual will progress to round 2. We've had 20+ votes so far which is great to see! Please keep them coming as this will be open until Thursday. 'positions' vinyl finally materialises! This week it was announced that we're getting a 'positions' vinyl! This green record is currently available on Ari's official U.S. store - fingers crossed for a U.K. release soon. There is also a glow in the dark option that is exclusive to Target. Hooray for 2021 being off to a good start in Ari's world with both this and the new peak for '34+35'. 'Side To Side' becomes first all-female collab to pass 1 billion streams on Spotify! Ari's collab with Nicki Minaj 'Side To Side' has now passed 1 billion streams! This is Ariana's third song to do so (after 'thank u, next' and '7 rings') and is the first all-female collaboration to pass this milestone. Amazing! Congrats to the both of them. Next in line is 'no tears left to cry'. 'Love Me Harder' to feature on The Weeknd's upcoming Greatest Hits The Weeknd will be releasing a Greatest Hits compilation to capitalise on his impending Super Bowl half-time show performance. 'positions' deluxe is on the way! This week Ariana excitedly teased a deluxe version of her 6th studio album 'positions'! This will include 5 additions to the original track list including the Doja and Megan remix of '34+35'. The identity of the other four songs and potential features are currently unknown as the tracks are scribbled out on her social media. The exact date is also not known but she has promised February. Perhaps a Valentine's release is on the cards? Whatever happens it's coming soon. Are you excited? '34+35' will have not one but two music videos! Another project that Ariana has been teasing is a second music video for '34+35'! We were treated to visuals for the solo version back in November but now one for the remix is coming. Pictures of Ari, Doja and Megan together on set are out there and their names were also featured in Ariana's 'February' social media posts - so not long to go now until we will get that either. Let's hope sooner rather than later so '34+35' can avoid ACR and keep up its mighty impressive top 10 run!
