Next in the PREDICTA series is obviously 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.

Released APRIL 23rd (UK) & MAY 1st (US)

A huge box office smash in the waiting, but in the opening weekend, what do you guys predict it will do?

The first Avengers film ('Avengers Assemble') was a MONSTER. Opening with £15,778,074 here in the UK and then a week or two later SMASHING ALL Box Office opening Weekend records and opening with $207,438,708 in the weekend alone. It's since grossed well over $1bn WW! Marvel have been an unstoppable force ever since, will we see it match or excel past the first films gross? Or do we think it'll under perform?

I'm thinking...

US:
$243m

UK:
£17.3m

Or something. It'll probably be the biggest opening weekend of all time, until 'Star Wars VII' comes along in November. Although 'Spectre' could give it a good run!

I have no idea with openings, but I hope it can match (or outdo) the first one's total.

I'd guess US will br around $240-250 million and UK probably closer to £20m this time.

So no-one guessed correctly and most people over predicted for the US!

$191,271,109 was it's opening weekend tally! Close, but not close enough! Factored in was the Mayweather/Pacquiao boxing fight which, rumour has it, Americans spent over $400 million for the event! That probably played into it's total slightly, as well as getting great reviews, just not anywhere near as positive as the first film!

Still a very impressive weekend total, all things considered. Disappointing that it didn't manage to break the $200m barrier? Of course. Underperformance? Maybe. Flop? Hell no. laugh.gif
