Barnsley have been kicked out of the FA Cup for fielding an ineligible player in their first-round replay win at non-league Horsham.

The seventh-tier side will now play League Two Sutton United in round two.

Barnsley had won the replay 3-0 last week after drawing 3-3 in the initial tie at Oakwell.

"We would like to apologise to our fans, players and staff for this regrettable error," they said in a statement on the club website.

Not to be for Ramsgate as they were beaten 5-0 by Wimbledon in their FA Cup second round match. AFC Wimbledon will play Ipswich in the third round.

Alfreton Town held League Two Walsall to a battling stalemate to earn an FA Cup second-round replay at Bescot Stadium next week.

The National League North part-timers are 38 league places below the Saddlers, but their direct approach and the prodigious long throw of midfielder Adam Lund made it an uncomfortable night at North Street for the Black Country side.

Glad Alfreton are still in at least - hopefully they can clinch a win in the replay to give us two Tier 6 teams in the Third Round.

Forest Green Rovers have been ordered to replay their FA Cup tie against Scarborough Athletic after admitting fielding an ineligible player.

League Two side Rovers beat National League North team Scarborough 5-2 in a first-round replay on 14 November.

The Football Association said a professional game board sub-committee had ruled the tie should be replayed to a finish next Tuesday, 12 December.

Palace v Everton is very uninspiring. No Gillingham v Sheff Utd, which shows how being a Premier League club doesn't automatically give a club the required status when looking for that sort of cup tie.

They get a replay but Barnsley were booted out? Where's the fairness there.

Certainly an interesting one there! Does give another Tier 6 team a small chance of making the Third Round though if Scarborough can fend off both Forest Green and Blackpool.

Blackpool boss Neil Critchley has branded the Football Association "incompetent" after his team's FA Cup second-round tie against Forest Green Rovers was postponed at short notice.

Forest Green fielded an ineligible player in their first-round win over Scarborough Athletic.

They now have to replay the game against Scarborough on Tuesday.

Critchley told BBC Radio Lancashire that, in his opinion, the FA had shown the club a lack of respect.

After a 1-1 draw, Forest Green beat Scarborough 5-2 in a first-round replay on 14 November, seemingly setting up a match against Blackpool on 2 December.

That was called off, though, and Critchley said: "We feel really aggrieved by it all. It was 4 November the first game when apparently the ineligible player played.

Heard today that there won't be a rematch if Blackpool/Forest Green draw - they'll just play it out to extra time/penalties. Which is fair enough, the competiton needs to keep moving!

Everton have appealed against the red card given to Dominic Calvert-Lewin in Thursday's goalless FA Cup third-round tie at Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old striker faces a three-game ban after being dismissed for the first time in his career.

He had his studs up in a challenge with Nathaniel Clyne and clipped the Palace defender's shin with minimal contact.

Manchester City's Rodri and Erling Haaland are doubts for the club's FA Cup third round tie against Huddersfield Town.

Spain midfielder Rodri could miss Sunday's game following the death of his grandmother.

"Today and tomorrow he will not be here," said Guardiola, whose side won the FA Cup last season.

"Hopefully he will come back for the game but, if he needs to stay, family issues are the most important thing."
