BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Christmas Album No1 2019

Posted by: Steve201 2nd December 2019, 10:05 PM

Simples.

Who will be the UKs biggest seller on the Christmas chart week 13/12/19-20/12/19 and therefore be No1 on Christmas Day?

Some of the contenders are by two big releases on the week itself by Harry Styles & Stormzy and albums which will be peaking in sales by this week already in the market including what looks like the years biggest long player and debut album by Lewis Capaldi, Westlife, Coldplay, Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams, Ed Sheeran, 2017 Xmas chart toppers Michael Ball & Alfie Boe, Michael Buble who's Xmas album from 2011 has entered the top 10 for a 8th consecutive year and is closing on 3m sales or next weeks contenders The Who?

Or is there one I haven't thought of?

Can the mods add a poll?

Robbie Williams, especially if he has upcoming TV performances. Although once Christmas is over I can see Lewis Capaldi taking over the #1 spot again.

I'd say Robbie will do it.

Added a poll.

Thanks Medallium, appreciate it!

I voted for Stormzy but genuinely unsure as I'm not sure how much he will sell and how much Styles will as the anticipation will make it fly off the shelves even if VB was in April.

Also unsure in this albums climate how Robbie can sell more closer to Xmas or is that phenomena reduced to nothing now.

Well we all seem pretty confident about Robbie.

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 3rd December 2019, 03:21 PM

Just noticed 20 Votes for him - wow!

Posted by: gavindeejay 3rd December 2019, 03:45 PM

I'll vote Robbie. It'll probably Number 1 from this Friday through to Christmas

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 3rd December 2019, 04:00 PM

That's him up to 23 - what are the songs two people have as Other?

Yes I think it will be too.

A glorious return to the top for the Greatest Showman OST.

No-one's voted for Ball & Boe. They have an ITV special next week so should shift a few albums but not sure of the date.

Rod Stewart also had basically a night based around programmes about him lastnyt which will surely help. Robbies next promo seems to be next weekend when he's on Michael McIntyre and I think Graham Norton?

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 16th December 2019, 07:41 PM

Looks like that promo has set him well - Rod is only a few copies behind Harry Styke and ahead of Stormzy.

I never thought he would do as well as this!

Posted by: Crazy Chris-tmas 16th December 2019, 10:05 PM

Seems like 31 of us will be wrong.

Posted by: Michael Bubré 16th December 2019, 10:07 PM

More like 56 of us x (or 52 if Stormzy pulls it out by the end of the week)

Posted by: slowdown73 16th December 2019, 10:08 PM

I predict Rod Stewart will be top of the albums for Christmas week.

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 16th December 2019, 10:12 PM

It's a good prediction at this point lol

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 18th December 2019, 09:53 PM

Did well ahead of all opponents now on 48k sales with two days to go!
