Here we go then! Should be a big week with the climax of Gray's story and the opening up of the new set.

Maybe they should chuck in a new opening titles for good measure

It may have taken 18 months but it’s good to see Mitch and Karen finally play a part in the aftermath of Chantelle’s death.p cheer.gif

Tense scenes with Gray and Chelsea! First time in a while I've felt totally engrossed in an episode. Looking forward to tomorrow's!

Edit: Ah, it was a Simon Ashdown episode. Makes sense.

So I had a dream last night which played out Gray’s downfall. It was set in a car park and shopping centre and he died by escalator! laugh.gif

Wow!!! that was gripping from start to finish and shouting at the TV laugh.gif I knew some other characters are about to bow out, Mitch, Mick, I thought one of them would do him in. That stare at Karen was just stone cold at the end, just made me shiver laugh.gif

That was brilliant, for all the faults this story had along the way, that is how you stick a landing. I was literally cheering when Mitch grabbed Gray’s hand as there’s no way a cop out death would have been good enough. Whitney was amazing too. Only gripe, and barely one at that, is that Kheerat didn’t feature at all.

Oh wow what an incredible episode! The best episode in absolute years, I’m glad Gray didn’t die. Toby who plays Gray is a great actor, it’ll be sad to see him go.

The last two episodes were a fantastic climax to what was a ropey storyline at times. I'm glad Gray left alive in a police car and didn't get a death cop out. And finally a reveal that he killed Kush too!

Ya the ending has been very good which is a relief as I think they got lost with this storyline at times and veered away from what i felt it was originally about. I was expecting another trevor and little mo storyline which was handled fantastically.

Eastenders getting DESTROYED by Emmerdale Farm, as we all predicted. Emmerdale Farm is even besting CORONATION STREET, ans is now the biggest soap. Ironic that EE tried to kill off Emmersale Farm when it first started by running in the same slot, ans npw Emmerdale Farm is doing that to Eastenders!! Runour has it EE will get axed.

Surely it’d be a bit foolish to axe Eastenders after spending all that money on a new set.

Yeah they know exactly what they're doing with running it in the timeslot it has. To be fair to them, I don't think the actual live viewing figures matter much when the show itself gets millions of additional viewers on iPlayer every time it airs (13.4 million streams in 2 weeks last summer for example). The appetite for television is shifting to streaming; whilst they want to keep those that are loyal and watch it live, I don't think they ultimately feel bothered by Emmerdale's presence. The show has a strong online presence on social media too. Like T Boy says, a new set has been in production and is now on TV despite the dwindling viewing figures, it isn't everything.

Ya I think eastenders is doing well on catch up and the press are presenting the live figures only to make it look worse, when everything is combined I doubt there is much between emmerdale and eastenders.

EE is actually rating the same / up on the previous week in the new slot. Emmerdale took a hit on Thursday from its usual level but has otherwise also been rating pretty much the same.

Just catching up on Thursdays episode and it was brilliant from everyone involved. If the Soap Awards make a return this year I could definitely see Toby who plays Gray and the storyline in general picking up a few awards .
