The trailer didn't massively excite me for this but apparently some of the scenes are really good, this sort of out at sea movie doesn't appeal to me but I'll give it a go and I like Chris Pine a lot!

I thought the love story was really weak but some of the actual bits at sea were spectacularly done.

I kind of want to see the movie but
if I see the trailer one more time I might kill someone mad.gif I have literally seen it at the last 15 films I've gone to and it's not even a good trailer!

This is pretty much the definition of solid movie. It has a solid plot, uplifting ending, excellent visual effects, solid acting (mainly from Chris Pine, Casey Affleck and Holliday Grainger). I do think the best scenes were at sea (the scene where they first go over the bar in that little boat was incredibly intense) but I also really liked the love story, I felt terrible for Miriam. I think my lack of knowledge/interest in the subject matter and these rescue/sea type of films just meant there were a few dull moments in places but some of the sea scenes were spectacurlarly done and I can't really fault it other than it being a bit slow at times, reminds me of Bridge of Spies in that aspect but the lulls stopped me from really enjoying it, solid movie though!
