Ciao, welcome to the capital of Unovia, Castenellia City, where we are opening the 100th edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest! Our first time hosting solo is to mark this milestone, so get some fab entries on the table to help us celebrate *.*

Below are the main rules for you to heed:

1) You of course cannot send anything sent before, a list of which you can find http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=104463.
2) Don't be completely cheap, a 100th edition doesn't mean you can send anything you want, unless it is your anniverasry and you've agreed it with mods. For most of us, we'll be adhering to these rules as ever, so check http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=196914 before you fall into a veto trap!
3) Artists who finished top 3 in the last contest are an autoveto, so do not send Francesca Michielin, Hannah Jane Lewis, Motiv8 or Angie Brown!
4) As it's the 100th contest, there are NO bans, so anyone who is registered with BJSC can enter! The more the merrier
5) You cannot send the same artist that you sent last month.

Confirmations will remain open until 22nd October at 23:59, with the reveal ceremony following on the 23rd. No entries will be accepted after this so don't miss the deadline!

No bans applies to the one month ban. Permabanned countries are still very much permanently banned.

For the 100 I think ALL should be allowed. If a permabanned country wins, the mods or no.2 hosts. If they win, they get an auto pass in th next contet but that's it, then banned again, like Australia in the Eurovision!

Hard to believe this is the 100th contest. I rarely take part in any forum discussions nowadays, but it’s amazing to see how far the contest has come since we brought it to BuzzJack back in 2008. Presently, BJSC is my main source of current music, and it’s brilliant in its current format.

OK I shall reveal more info about Buzzjack Mountain's song. I am going very retro this time and I have gone for a BIG sounding early 80s song I discovered on one of my dad's CDs just to do something very different for BJSC 100. Its not from a well known group so maybe even Suedehead or popchartfreak haven't heard of this group.

Just out of interest, are vetoes being treated the exact same as they would any other month? And so it's just anniversary entries that are given a slight wave of lenience? I think this was decided wasn't it, or is everyone just going super cheap? :')

(It's my 50th anniversary so i've gone for something that would raise some alarms in a normal contest but it's hardly super cheap - i'm just interested in what others are doing and what is allowed!)

Fair deal on the table. If you want 3 semi's for the 100th contest, y'all need to drum up more than 90* people to enter but no more than 102**. Do that and you can have your 3 semi finals. We've not nudged it up a band where there's no real gain to doing so. In hindsight 46 Qualifiers for 98 would have included me so maybe we will be a bit more rigid in the future Hindsight eh!

*Minimum 91 = 3x30 SF & 1AQ
**Maximum 102 = 3x33 SF & 3AQ

So 81-90 entries means the 18 point system would be used in the semis as well as the final then if I am reading that correctly? I think that seems like the most likely scenario here although who knows how many other long dead countries may yet come out of the woodwork ~ Good to see that the number of qualifiers will be expanded again in that case as well.

No because I don't think all the vetoes are sorted and obviously people need time to re submit plus the mods have to sign off on the final list, obviously with way more entries it's gonna take a bit longer

I'll probably have voting open for like 7 or 8 days as well as it's longer as I expect people will want that extra time to listen

Nope it'll be a thread in here, I've just done a small write up on each one and I'll reveal one from each semi in order of the semi allocation (so like first post will be semi 1 slot 1 and semi 2 slot 1), we don't always do it but when it's been done in the past I like it as it gives a little moment of spotlight to each song

We have listen throughs for the semis and final on plug though!

personally I think Wednesday to Wednesday is fine, you only have to listen to your own semi (except Liam) and it covers all days of the week.

Yeah exactly and I've listened as I've gone along for the semi reveal thing, it gives a whole weekend too whereas sometimes semi open on say Sunday and close Friday, plus as we always say you could give 5 days or like 20 and you'd be waiting for 30 votes on the last day still
