06. Into The Groove
#1 in ~ UK
Into The Groove was a huge success in the UK. It debuted at #4, becoming the highest debuting single for any female artist in the history of the chart at that time. It reached the top of the chart and stayed there for four weeks, becoming her first number-one single in the UK. During its stay at number-one, Holiday occupied the number-two position. This made her the first female artist in UK chart history to hold the top-two positions of the chart simultaneously. The song remains her best selling song here. In the US it charted much less favourably for a variety of reasons. The song was not released at the time as it would compete with 'Angel', which had just been released as a single from Like A Virgin. Instead, it was eventually released as the B-side to the maxi-single of "Angel", making it ineligible to enter the Billboard Hot 100 or Hot Singles Sales charts!

I voted for Hung Up. I like it but it's not quite as essential for me as the others left. All are 10/10 though easily.
