BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Round 1: LEAST favourite year-end top 40 single of 2013

Posted by: Therm• 27th August 2014, 01:10 PM

Chart forum regulars may remember a game like this being hosted years ago by Dannyboy. And as this game is now becoming trendy again in artist forums there's no better time to bring it back to UK charts than now.

Simply vote for your least favourite and I'll see you for round 2 in two days time

Vote closes midday, Friday 29 August.

I'll be voting for Just Give Me A Reason. Still a terrible song.

Lily Allen - Somewhere Only We Know

Posted by: jsilv 27th August 2014, 01:17 PM

It has to be Get Lucky...

Let Her Go, Love Me Again, Counting Stars and Mirrors are also unbearable..

Bang Bang. Awful.

Just watch JGMAR go out too soon and a basic final 10.

OMG this game again, good times wub.gif Started when I first joined!

There are a lot of songs I would happily never hear again here - I'll go with We Can't Stop first.

Posted by: Noahspike 27th August 2014, 01:20 PM

'Talk Dirty', both for the song itself and because its success was probably a major factor in 'Wiggle' being conceived/recorded/released sick2.gif.

Posted by: Therm• 27th August 2014, 01:22 PM

There was quite a lot of crap this year wasn't there? ohmy.gif

Just Give Me A Reason, When I Was Your Man, Ho Hey, We Can't Stop, Roar, Counting Stars, Stay and One Way Or Another all need to go asap

Has to be Play Hard, what an unbearable barrel of crap. Ho Hey an incredibly close second mind.

Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop

Posted by: Joe. 27th August 2014, 01:38 PM

Blurred Lines.

Posted by: Liаm 27th August 2014, 01:40 PM

Get Lucky, that and Play Hard are both unbelievably horrific, I feel generous saying they're -1/10.

Posted by: *Ben* 27th August 2014, 01:41 PM

When I Was Your Man :-/

Closely followed by Just Give Me A Reason. Normally I love P!nk, but this....

Posted by: Ultraviolence1989 27th August 2014, 01:47 PM

That horrible disgusting biggest selling song of the year gets my vote this round in a competition of about 15 terrible songs for me
EDIT: No I missed that torturous Comic Relief 2013 cover song which is the worst mad.gif I've just worked out there are 14 songs that would contest for my 0 or -1

I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE OR SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW OR LANA TO WIN

Posted by: Mango 27th August 2014, 02:03 PM

There's actually nothing I dislike from that list! But I voted for David Guetta 'Play Hard', definitely one of his worst.

Posted by: harryflynn0908 27th August 2014, 02:15 PM

Has to be Play Hard but blurred lines has to be a close second

The Monster

That awful One Direction song. HOW am I the only one to vote for it?! sad.gif

Because I missed it when I looked sad.gif
I'll join you next week smile.gif

Blurred Lines easily.

Posted by: Dircadirca 27th August 2014, 02:38 PM

I'm surprised there's nothing *too* objectionable here, at least nothing stuck out as desperately needing my vote. So I went for Play Hard because that's a dud.

Jason Derulo - Talk Dirty

Posted by: Eric_Blob 27th August 2014, 03:02 PM

I'm calling it now, the winner will be one of I Knew You Were Trouble, Summertime Sadness or maybe I Need Your Love.

Overall I think it's a pretty great top 40, although some of the songs like Dear Darlin, Ho Hey, etc. I can hardly remember so I'll have to go listen to them again, but they can't have been too bad.

Voting for Drinking From the Bottle. I like Tinie, and occasionally Calvin, but this song fails to be catchy in any way.

Looks like Play Hard might be first out, hopefully their voters will transfer over to DFTB after it goes. kink.gif

You aren't any more! (Disappointing we're the only 2, or 3 including Ultra, tho - I mean 'Play Hard' is pretty terrible and all but come on!)

Posted by: Kl▲mzee 27th August 2014, 03:29 PM

Play Hard for sure! Although one direction were in the running. Can't believe Blurred Lines has so many votes, it's funky cool.gif

Posted by: RobinJuanPersie 27th August 2014, 03:57 PM

We Can't Stop
Even though it looks like Play Hard is going to get the most.

Posted by: Mack 27th August 2014, 06:47 PM

Passenger- Let Her Go

Posted by: fchd 27th August 2014, 09:50 PM

"Thrift Shop". Not just the worst of that batch, but the worst song of the year without any qualifications. Maybe even the decade.

Tbh, one vote isn't enough...Blurred Lines/When I Was Your Man/Thrift Shop/We Can't Stop/Talk Dirty

All AWFUL records IMO!

Posted by: Leonardo 28th August 2014, 02:25 AM

Bang Bang, the most horrendous in my opinion.

Posted by: AntoineTTe 28th August 2014, 06:02 AM

From the ones I've heard - Blurred Lines but I'll be voting for Scream and Shout next.
