hello guys, it is me, fashionably late as per usual asking what y'all wanna see happen with the spin-off forum this year (tbf it was feb last year i did this thread so we're good x)

i promise i will present all results from the contests i do, i have a laptop now so i will be able to finally give you the ones you've been waiting for soon kink.gif

i'm presuming y'all will want to see pride make a return in june and also have more editions of worlvison, reinvention and masquerade? those seem like the big faves but do let me know if you'd rather we just wiped the board completely and did something new! or is there a golden oldie that you'd love to make a return? ohmy.gif

we do have a number of other months to fill up though so i am still looking for fresh ideas, i'd really like to get a new contest up next month with something we've not tried before so if you think you've got a good idea, please let me know!! (we're not doing cats and dogs bray x)

on a serious note, last year one of the biggest issues was lack of available hosts, i took on the hosting role for probably the majority of the spin-offs last year, which although i enjoy doing it, i'm expecting to go "officially" full time with my job soon and i'm doing some design work in my free time as well so i'm not going to have the same amount of time i did last year (before october kink.gif) to run these on my own SO what i also need you to do is tell me if you want to host, tell me when you're free to host, what contest you'd like to host and promise me you'll try your very hardest to keep your word on that because it makes my job a whole lot easier if i know i've got definite cover for a contest one month rather than me scrambling to fling a contest together for you all last minute in the attempt to not leave you disappointed angel.gif

of course feel free to drop any ideas or suggestions below, even if you wouldnt want to host that contest yourself laugh.gif

i had what i THINK is a really good idea but you all might say otherwise LOL

i was thinking that we could do a BJSC LOTTERY idea, where we come up with 50 or so vague themes, and everyone gets assigned a theme that are very random and not linked so that we get some interesting results. it's meant to be like a mish-mash of ALL different spin-offs we've had whilst throwing in some curveballs! they then need to find a song that fits the (not too restricting) criteria. some of them would be inspired or would involve previous bjsc entries but most would involve fresh ideas.

- 01. long song bloc - any song over 5+ minutes
- 02. song by an italian artist
- 03. song with the word angel in the title
- 04. a track from 1999
- 05. a remix of a previous bjsc entry
- 06. an entry with less than 5,000 youtube views
- 07. an artist whose name begins with B
- 08. a previous FSR rontvia entrant
- 09. a song by a duo
- 10. a forgotten top 75 hit

etc. etc.

why does that feel like more of a Pointless/Family Fortunes type of thing than anything? I’d actually love to see something of that caliber again to help lessen the pressure of attributing to spin-off stats and stuff.

Worldvision/Masquerade/Reinvention are a MUST at this point, they’re the main spin-offs that keep people interested. I’d like to see some sequels to previous themes and Pride to hopefully return. biggrin.gif

just to say I'd love to see Worldvision, Masquerade and Reinvention be ran yearly, they're all fun contests. the random one sounds cool too and maybe we could bring back Foreign Language and Christmas this year too?

It would be cool to host myself but realistically I'm not sure I would have the time, maybe in June or something if I get a break from work.

June will be when the Pride contest will happen since that's pride month, not sure if an urban contest is a bit niche or perhaps something that could be done in that genre forum but we could maybe weave it into a vs style contest similar to the 90s vs 00s one we did last year

For the end of March (or later if things change), how about an EU-related one? Songs should have an association with any EU country except the UK (and, to make it more challenging, Ireland).

EU spin off should clearly be a competition to find the ultimate version of Ode To Joy with mandatory participation for any buzzjack brexiteer with punishment for non-participation being a permaban.
