What an awful drop, at least in a sales chart it would have got a 2nd week in the top 40.
Wonderful to see the Ultimate Collection back in the chart at number 64. |

Thanks for sharing the chart position.
May you rest in peace Giants. Your life may have been short and you were known by only a few, but those that DID know you loved you dearly. Sob! This post has been edited by MOTTFAN: 3rd March 2017, 10:22 PM |

but they will tour Australia and NZ at the end of the year, which is strange as they did not chart there for a decade

I don't think you have to chart in a country to be touring it. If that were the case, no international artist would ever come to my country
Besides, the 2 of them are related - if you don't promote in a certain place, there's little chance you're gonna have success there. |

Progress charted there Elisabeth, I for one am happy that they are bothering. For a time, I thought they'd only focus on UK, Ireland and Germany.
Streaming is such a killer in the charts right now. Wish they'd sort it out. It's like tail wagging the dog for want of a better expressions! |

I also think it's great they're travelling the world now and playing to the fans like Jay said who aren't just in Europe. They aren't expecting to sell out huge arenas however they do have 25 years of music behind them which means over time they have picked up fans around the world. They have also had chart success in every continent in the world regardless of how brief country to country etc. 80's acts tour the world on one hit but at least TT have years of music.
It's just not as concentrated as the first time around when the promo was all synced internationally for chart success. It also shows that they care for their fans who have waited so long and now they are going out to them. Now they have done Asia and are about to do Australia/New Zealand, I think it would be great to go to South America, South Africa and also Canada for their fans and then they would have allowed all their fans from the years the opportunity to see them in each part of the World. Huey Lewis did three shows in New Zealand this time last year (their first ever in New Zealand) and their greatest hits stormed into #8 on the New Zealand album charts the following week. If TT can get word of mouth going especially in such a small country and a fantastic performance who knows if they can make an impact. Lots of artists tour Australia and seem to miss New Zealand out as maybe it's not a huge music market like Australia. This post has been edited by nirvanamusic: 4th March 2017, 05:14 PM |

Just climbed from #99 to #86 on iTunes - here's hoping for a 59p reduction and at least 1 TV promo slot to give it a boost!

A price reduction should def help and prob the only thing that might help as it wont get promoted by them.

Just seen that Giants is number 67, it would be great if it stays top 75 but top 100 for this week should be safe.

Giants really has not connected with the public or radio/media has it? Taking away streaming it's sales only chart run has been dismal - good that it will probably make a re-entry to the Top 100 this week but poor performance overall so far.

I remember being extremely disappointed that Up All Night didn't continue Marks run of number ones on lead-vocal (even with it being the second single from The Circus). I really do have to lower my expectations lol. |

I too have to lower my expectations as i think going forward i will have to settle for lead singles making it into the top 40 and any follow up singles reaching the top 100. Up All Night is a great example, i too was so disappointed with its chart peak although it sold ok. I would be delighted with a single from them doing that well now.

^^ Iv lowered my expectations to the point of not expecting any post album releases to make the Top 100 after the lll era (These Days #1, Let In The Sun #161, Higher Than Higher - Missed Top 200, Hey Boy #56)

I'm a fan of Giants and was disappointed that it was overlooked for a place on the tracklist for Now 96.

Extremely surprising. Perhaps it came out too late?
