Sunday Chart Predictions
Predicting the 28/12/14 chart It's the time of year where the iTunes gift cards come into effect and send the songs we thought were finally going away right back up the charts again! This week, the #1 should be safe in the arms of Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars' 'Uptown Funk!' who - despite falling to #2 - broke the record for the most streams in a week. New entries should come from Alesso's 'Heroes (We Could Be)' which features vocals from Tove Lo (of 'Stay High (Habits)' fame), New World Sound/Thomas Newton/Lethal Bizzle's 'Flutes' and Echosmith's 'Cool Kids'. Also, there may be appearances from any of Madonna's 5 instant grant singles if they're bought/streamed enough in their own right as opposed to being available alongside the album pre-orders. In the albums, there's likely to be no new entries, however expect another week of high sales due to Christmas buying and iTunes post-Christmas offers. Ed Sheeran will probably be taking the #1 crown for a 12th week in a relatively static Top 10. ======================================================= Some minor adjustments this week due to lack of chart info and sales content Unfortunately MW will probably not publish anything this week due to the Christmas & New Year's break, we are also not expecting any chart info from other sources. OCC could publish the odd report Tues/mid week, for now please follow the iTunes thread topic for the latest chart info. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=172974 Chart update on Radio 1 is not transmitted this Wednesday apparently ======================================================== |

As per first post we aren't expecting much info this week but feel free to post any thoughts you may have about Sunday's chart. If we get any info we'll post- we promise!

A more interesting post-Xmas chart week than most recent years. It's weird they don't broadcast a chart update...

A more interesting post-Xmas chart week than most recent years. It's weird they don't broadcast a chart update... I looked at the radio 1 schedule earlier, there doesn't seem to be one http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/programmes/sch...land/2014/12/24 Unless its tucked in within a show. Just have to wait and see what develops in the week, its going to be a very stale chart. |

After midday on Christmas Day there won't be much live radio on radio 1 apart from breakfast and the rest will be repeats of the year. Even next week it's all about the sound of with indie shows taking over daytime. Should be back to normal from 5/1!
Do they play the full chart this Sunday? I remember on previous years them not playing the Xmas tracks for some reason ? |

This has always been my least favourite chart of the year as you just know the same old acts will get a boost and 6-8 month old tracks will re-enter.
I'm expecting this years offenders to be Pharrell, Clean Bandit, John Legend and Ed Sheeran sadly! I loved Rather Be for a while but Capital FM ruined it for me! At least Mark Ronson will be number one, I can see another 150-180k. |

Just a little note, please be aware there could be some fakes on the net, its the funny season, when some people have a lot of time on their hands. I remember once somebody took the trouble to have some fun.

In the absence of any true midweeks, here are my 'predictions'.
01 (02) Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars "Uptown Funk" 02 (01) Ben Haenow "Something I Need" 03 (03) Ed Sheehan "Thinking Out Loud" 04 (04) Olly Murs ft. Demi Lovato "Up" 05 (06) Take That "These Days" (Top Of The Pops boost) 09 (NE) Alesso ft. Tove Lo "Heroes (we could be)" *Highest New Entry* 28 (05) Wealdstone Raider "Got No Fans" *Biggest Fall* |

I'd love it to be #3, the top two are VERY strong competitors so in my eyes it still is a #1! Although Ed Streamrun is likely to overtake it and force it to debut at #4 No doubt GNF will slip fast, perhaps similar style to Proper Moist I'll probably post predictions later today if I have the time This post has been edited by SPINNING XMADASM: Dec 23 2014, 10:23 AM |

May as well do the same:
01 (02) Uptown Funk - Mark Ronson (feat. Bruno Mars) 02 (01) Something I Need - Ben Haenow 03 (03) Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheeran 04 (04) Up - Olly Murs (feat. Travie McCoy) 05 (06) These Days - Take That 06 (NE) Heroes (we could be) - Alesso (feat. Tove Lo) 07 (07) Blank Space - Taylor Swift 08 (10) All About That Bass - Meghan Trainor 09 (09) Outside - Calvin Harris (feat. Ellie Goulding) 10 (08) Night Changes - One Direction I think Stay With Me could sneak in where I've put Night Changes too but eh, we'll see. I can see Shake It Off being around the top 10 mark too. Have a little faith on Heroes! I'd love it to be #3, the top two are VERY strong competitors so in my eyes it still is a #1! Although Ed Streamrun is likely to overtake it and force it to debut at #4 I am having faith and probably being overly generous, it may even fail to make the T10 like Gorgon City. After Thursday, everything else will be overtaking it so whilst it may be #3 in today's midweeks by the end of Saturday it will be plummeting and perilously close to dropping out of the top tier. Ed Sheeran (which mysteriously auto-corrects to Sheehan on my Mac) will be streaming close to 1.7 million again - he hit a record high last week and sales will go up after ToTP no doubt. Olly is already selling well, Take That will likely get a boost from ToTP so there is no way it is going Top 5 anyway. |

Good to see your change of heart there Mikey Echosmith sadly won't make top 40 which is a shame. Also Joe Cocker could be a re-entry following his passing yesterday. Wow, still great sales for Ed Sheeran! Should continue to sell well in the New Year too - obviously not 100k+ but still better than what the #1 usually sells that time of year.
