With the massive success of the Ellie Goulding forum trial thus far, two new AFs have been added on a 3 month trial basis. To pass the criteria, they will need 10 posts per week (minimum) from at least 3 different posters.
Both artists are currently at #1 in the UK right now - Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.
Moderating Shawn will be Calum (head mod), Jay and myself. I will also be overseeing Camila on an interim basis only because we are holding APPLICATIONS! I will have the thread up shortly but we'd like you guys to apply if you'd like to head the Camila forum shortly 
As always, they will show up in your artist selections very shortly and I'll give you all the go-ahead then. In the mean time, you can access the forums by clicking View All Artists, or by using these links:

I'm hoping we end up with some mods who ensure this won't happen - as Ellie has proved, a keen mod team can work wonders!

The answer is no - the situation with Paramore has been explained. Lindsey did a great job but it seemed there was little interest from other people for getting that forum off the ground.

There’s always an excuse to save forums that only get 2 posts a week, even when a new album is released

The mods aren’t everything. Forums sometimes don’t work despite hard efforts from enthusiastic mods. I’d steer clear from saying things like ‘good mods will make it work’.
It’s like I said with the Lounge a while back, you can’t pin all success and failure on mods. The community have to be trying too.
That said, I have zero interest in either of these artists oops.

Not entirely sure about how Camila can hold up a forum alone, maybe if she was joined by the other 5H members sure, but does she have enough material to create discussion on her own?

kinda disappointed to see all the trials going to mainstream pop artists though, what about expanding the genre horizon and all that?
surprised halsey isn't getting a shot as well but if she does you know where i am

Perhaps, though an enthusiastic and positive mod team can often motivate the community. It's a two-way street really. Paramore didn't work for a number of reasons but Lindsey wasn't one of them, it was one of your examples of the community not getting involved.

Applications are open for til the end of Tuesday, so it's only a short period where I'm overseeing Camila. I mean, I'd be happy to continue there as I adore her but hopefully we'll get a wider range of people with applications, rather than me modding every forum that comes along lol.

most of the current af mods are inner circle mods, a lot of which who have multiple artist forums under their belt???

Let's take a look at the forums that have been created under the Inner Circle:
Billie Eilish - 2 mods (Sam and Cqm, Cqm has since left)
Calvin Harris - 2 mods (Dan and lewistgreen)
K-Pop - 1 mod (Cody)
RuPaul's Drag Race - 3 mods (Liam, Joe and Lew)
Charli XCX - 2 mods (Lotti and Haus)
Ellie Gouding - 2 mods (Cqm and me)
Shawn Mendes - 3 mods (Jay, Calum and me)
Camila Cabello and Fifth Hamony - TBA
So out of 14 current mods in those forums, only 3 are inner circle mods (bearing in mind I'm not an inner circle mod and though I can offer my POV in that section, I don't get to vote in their decisions - even if you did include me, that's still 5 out of 14, less than half). Five of those are moderating their first AF - Dan, Lewis, Cody, Lew and Cqm!
Of course, if you expand the search to the pre-existing AFs, the inner circle mods feature more, but I don't really think it's fair to compare to mod jobs they had before the role was actually created.

oh my god joseph i wasn't making a dig i was just pointing it out, you dont need to whip out the defense stats...

I know, I wasn't taking it as a dig. However, I didn't really understand your point for the reasons above - the inner circle don't get any sort of priority and I wouldn't want it to be seen that way. The stats I posted were simply to clear up misconceptions.
I'm not really sure why the pre-existing forums are that relevant to the inner circle anyway, they were jobs they had before (and proved their worth in!)

well y'know the inner circle oversee things for all of the artist forums as far as I'm aware, not just the new ones or the ones they moderate so surely they're just as relevant? especially when they're the people deciding what old ones need axing etc etc

Yes, though I'm not really sure what point that's trying to make. Sure, the inner circle have plenty of AFs under their belt, mostly from before they were hired, but I'm not sure what else you're suggesting beyond that.

On a more positive note, very happy that we've got a Shawn forum, so thanks to all involved for making it happen!! 
Really good to see Camila given a chance too, hopefully with the right mod team and member support that can take off!

The problem with artists like Ed Sheeran is that nobody here *stans* him. You need at least 2 or 3 stans as well as a more casual interest from the members to make a forum work. We had an Adele forum before and it failed because it lacked the stan interest to get it off the ground. On the other hand, Paramore had the stan interest but not the casual. Ed would be more like Adele I expect.

The problem with AF's is they need mods to run them that are going to put in the effort. Jade has worked wonders for Ariana and has put a breath of fresh air into the forum. Billie Eilish lost a mod within its first few weeks and seems to have 0 interest.

Hopefully with that combo, we'll be able to get the forum looking fresh and different. We're always looking for newer members to mod btw! We'd prefer newer blood, so please if you ever see an application go up and think "I've never modded before so I won't bother", rethink and apply! New blood is only ever a good thing (and helps make forums stand out amongst other forums etc..)

I'd like to suggest creating a Steps artist forum and merging it with their legacy tribute act, Lady Gaga's forum x A joint Steps/ GaGa forum could be interesting, as the music is so similar and they influenced her music a lot.
