15th. Don't Cry for me Argentina = 13 votes

Welcome to Round 2 of Madonna's GHV2 survivor polls and our first casualty is 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina' which gained a whopping 13 out of the 15 votes cast and coming a day earlier than planned, but seems as though this was so set in stone it may as well bow out at this point.

This doesnt really come as much of surprise, and considering what's on this collection, there wasn't really any other contender to go first. Easily one of Madonna's greatest vocal performances to date, with her dramatic interpretation of Evita's unofficial theme song was both loyal and quite bizarrely autobiographical. The vocal lessons she took for this role definitely paid off and Madonna just knocked it out of the park, her role as Eva Peron served as a glorious transition to adulthood (and motherhood). This song is both an important and essential part of her extensive discography and while it may not be everyone's favourite, you gotta admire it at least.

Same rules apply just vote for your Least Fave out of the 14 remaining songs by the next Round which will probably be up at the end of the week and it will be interesting too see what happens next.

I picked 'Drowned World', but on second thoughts can someone change that to 'What it Feels Like For a Girl'?

"Don't Cry For Me Argentina" is my favourite track from this compilation. blush.gif

Voted for Ray Of Light - the one from her worst singles.

Ended up going for Erotica as it’s probably the one I’m least likely to listen to.

What It Feels Like for a Girl is too wonderful to leave this soon.

Hmmmm I’d have him down as someone who would just listen to a real Björk track instead!

Well, I just had a massively slow moment. 'What It Feels Like for a Girl and Bedtime Story are too wonderful to leave this soon' is what I meant. I voted Deeper and Deeper.

Bedtime Story has definitely grown on me, I can now say I like it after not being keen for so long, but it would still rate it on the lower side of her singles discography.

I think I like it more in the context of the album, particularly that transition from Sanctuary. wub.gif

Oh I like it too... in fact I wish more of the album had been made with Björk as it could have been so much more interesting than it ended up being. It's just that I'd far rather listen to almost al of the Björk singles over BS
