Streaming was included at this point in 2014 but pure sales were still at a high level, enough that songs moved far more fluidly. Downloads being held back meant it wasn't uncommon even in 2015 for big hits to do 100k in a week. Iirc it was only after OA/OS was introduced with the Friday chart move that downloads REALLY collapsed, as they weren't getting those big Week One numbers anymore.


from memory I'd say OA/OS was introduced in 2011
by mid-2014 downloads were slowly dying, I remember in early 2015 we had all those low Elvis #1s with just 20K

It was (Nicola's Beat Of My Drum lost out majorly </3) but only for a few months I think? You're thinking of the wrong decade with the Elvis #1's laugh.gif
