Tonight's match is exactly why the Six Nations must remain live on FTA. You just don't get the experience of sport unfolding in the same way when watching highlights, especially nowadays where it is virtually impossible to avoid the score.

Leigh Centurions head coach John Duffy has left the club after an eight-game losing run in the 2021 Super League.

Duffy, 40, had been in charge since November 2018 and his final game was a 40-16 defeat at Hull KR on Sunday.

Leigh replaced Toronto Wolfpack in the competition in December but are bottom of the table, having lost all their league matches this season.

The Pro14 will rebrand as the United Rugby Championship (URC) when South Africa's four teams join the competition in 2021-22.

Sharks, Stormers, Lions and Bulls will play alongside the 12 existing sides from Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales in a 16-team league.

There will be one division, with end of season play-offs.

"We are taking the league to new heights," said URC chief executive Martin Anayi.

"Forming the United Rugby Championship will begin to reshape the club rugby world."

The South African sides will also be eligible to qualify for European competitions from 2022-23. The four former Super Rugby sides have replaced fellow South African outfits Cheetahs and Southern Kings in the tournament.

London Irish full-back Tom Homer has retired from rugby union.

The 31-year-old had agreed a move to French side US Montalbanaise this summer but has decided to stop playing.

Academy graduate Homer scored 785 points in 126 appearances for the Exiles over two spells, having played for Bath between 2015 and 2020.

Queensland will host eight of the remaining Rugby Championship Tests after a Covid-enforced change to the schedule.

New Zealand and Australia are currently subject to lockdowns and the All Blacks cancelled two games last week including their Bledisloe Cup match in Perth.

But Queensland, largely free of coronavirus, has been deemed safe to host all four nations.

The new fixtures will be double-headers over four weekends from 12 September.

Six Argentina players and two members of team staff have been expelled from the Rugby Championship for breaching tournament health rules by taking an unauthorised trip to Byron Bay.

The tournament has been held under strict biosecurity protocols with restricted travel because of Covid-19 cases in the state of Queensland.

But the players crossed into New South Wales to visit the tourist destination.

St Helens booked a Super League Grand Final date with Catalans Dragons after easing past Leeds Rhinos.

Regan Grace gave the reigning champions an early lead, which James Roby extended before Richie Myler got Leeds on the board just before half-time.

Tries from Mark Percival and Kevin Naiqama extended Saints' lead to 24-4.

Luke Briscoe gave Leeds hope but Percival and Grace both crossed again to secure Saints' place in a third successive Grand Final on 9 October.

After beating Wigan in Hull to win last season's showpiece, St Helens will now return to Old Trafford - the scene of their Grand Final victory over Salford in 2019 - to face the League Leaders' Shield winners a week on Saturday.

England coach Shaun Wane has returned to Wigan in a "leadership" role as part of a reshuffled backroom team of new head coach Matty Peet and assistants Sean O'Loughlin and Lee Briers.

Wane led Wigan to three Super League titles, a Challenge Cup and World Club Challenge triumph before his 2018 exit.

He has had just one game with England because of Covid, a postponed World Cup and a cancelled Australia Test series.
