With the season over, now silly season begins.
All confirmed transfers, rumours and near missed to be discussed in here.
Speculate ahoy!
West Ham will sign midfielder Havard Nordtevit from Gladbach on a free transfer.
Sky Sports linking West Ham to just about every player going so far
Wouldn't surprise me if some/all of the big money clubs tried to pinch 2/3 of the Leicester City squad over the summer, along with Harry Kane from Tottenham, and one of the teams needing a manager tried to nick Eddie Howe from Bournemouth...
We shall see on Saturday just how silly Man U's silly season is going to be. To fire LVG or not to fire LVG that is the question that will still be getting asked this time next year ahead of the final match of his contract
Liverpool have finally signed a goalkeeper!
Big rumours on Ibra moving to Man Utd. Expect a few Jorge Mendes clients to be linked with them all summer.
If Simon Mignolet is now going to be available then I'd love to see Sunderland bring him back in. That said, Vito Mannone was back in top form at the end of the season, but can he keep it up?
Or perhaps Aberdeen could sign Danny Ward permanently?
I'm expecting Ibra to join Man Utd, watching SPN today they said he would only join MU from the PL, and I can just see him their under Mourinho, so I expect good things for them this year.
Unfortunately not predicting much excitement for Liverpool in terms of big names, though Klopp is great at finding unknown talents, but hoping Gotze will consider coming to Anfield
It would be great to see Zlatan finally play in the Premier League and for Man Utd.
Ibra is 34 now he will be a real big signing but I think he will be like Schwinnie last year - a big name, not necessarily a big player. But we shall see. Did anyone ever read his biography?
On the liverpool front great to see a new keeper in from Mainz hope he will be a commanding presence for us - looks a real aryan and he looks like he loves himself!!
Man City about to sign Gudongan.
Xhaka looking very certain to join Arsenal from Gladbach for £35m.
If Mourinho sells Juan Mata it will be nothing short of moronic. He was Chelsea's best player before he took over Chelsea for the 2nd time and then he shipped him off to Man Utd. He's been a key player for us and if Mourinho gets rid of him again it will prove that he has a personal problem with Juan.
Reported that Arsenal have triggered Vardy's release clause!
Could be £20m.
Don't leave Leicester City, Jamie Vardy please.
Zlatan to United is a done deal it seems.
Will be great to see him in the prem even if for just one year, especially for United
Very exciting. Getting things done in a time efficient manner with a new manager would be a first for Woodward. Actual progress on that front!
Is Jamie Vardy crazy? why leave the Premier League champions to go and play for Arsenal?
Vardy is less effective in a team that dominates possession. He would get higher wages but play far less football, mind you that never stopped the likes of Scott Sinclair or Fabian Delph.
Vardy seems to flourish in poor teams (see Leicester and England) so he should do well at Arsenal
20m is expensive enough considering he's 29 and relies on pace a lot.
Yep, plus of course the obligatory English player mark up.
I really think this summer could be the year we see the 100M mark be broken, just trying to work out who & for what team!
So much me rooting for Jaime Vardy as the Leicester City forward any longer....here's hoping there won't be a massive defection from Leicester City's squad now they've won the Premier League....
I don't think the 'tippy tappy' bullshit Arsenal play will suit Vardy at all. Unless Arsenal are planning to 'mix up' their style of play next season.
Arsenal aren't anywhere near that one-dimensional. Sanchez seemed to fit in fine and, like Vardy, his pace is his biggest weapon.
Vardy was apparently supposed to make his choice before he got on the plane to France today. But "couldn't make the decision". Do we think he is gonna want more money from either Leicester or Arsenal? I assume his England team mates will be telling him to go to Arsenal where he can be on the bench for a big name club. I would think considering he signed a three year deal with Leicester in February he would stay there and try and retain the title.
He'll have a good idea how many of his Leicester teammates are likely to be there next season, and it'll probably have a big influence on his decision. He won't get a chance like this again, it'd be very telling of his character if he wasn't sorely tempted.
I guess Vardy & Wilshere can form the WKD army
Man United set to sign Villarreal defender Eric Bailly for £30m.
That's confirmed now! MEN are reporting £20m + add ons.
Good signing, he looks a player. Mind you, I thought the same about Mangala!
Nothing says Jose is your manager, than a big money signing for a defender!
Good signing, he looks a player. Mind you, I thought the same about Mangala!
Nothing says Jose is your manager, than a big money signing for a defender!
Yeh he's bound to be a good no nonsense defender if Jose got into buy him.
£20m bid rejected by Watford for Troy Deeney. This is going to be a mad summer.
Bristol City have signed Gary O'Neil from Norwich on a free transfer.
A decent signing I think, has plenty of Premiership/Championship experience.
This transfer window is going to be crazy with some big-money spending.
Would you go £25m for Deeney and consider the offer?
A rather controversial transfer yesterday with Chesterfield signing Ched Evans.
Southampton sign Nathan Redmond from Norwich for £11m following Wanyama £11m move to Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Mane could be going to Liverpool for £30m.
I'm indifferent about Mane. He blows hot and cold with his form, which is a worry. BUT he scores goals and adds pace, which is something that we need.
BBC reporting Mane is having a medical at Liverpool today.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36636488
Mkhitaryan agreed for United, excited about this guy, Bundesliga player of the season last year & a creative midfielder is exactly what we need most.
Mane set to move for £34m to Liverpool. The 5th Saints player to move to Liverpool.
Southampton may as well just formally become Liverpool's academy tbh.
I'm going to be gutted if we lose Mata but Mkhitaryan looks like a good signing for us. Zlatan too almost a done deal pending personal terms and medical.
Mane confirmed for £34M. You can really see why Koeman left now it's the same old story at Southampton every single season, they're gonna come unstuck one year & suffer a big drop down the table if they're not careful.
Ibra about to sign for Man Utd.
Call me tempting fate here, but after some consideration, I reckon he will be very average.
It will be very interesting to see how he adapts to the Premier League! Does feel like it's either gonna go RVP or Memphis 1st season though...
Hahaha very true, but 1-0 and a parked double decker is an improvement on the 0-0 shite we've been seeing this past year.
Zlatan to United is official
I think everyone knew that Zlatan would come to Old Trafford, whenever the media asked him about Man Utd he always had a smile that gave everything away despite trying to keep it a secret. Hopefully he will do well for us like he did for PSG.
I really hope that whatever we do in the transfer market this summer that we keep hold of Juan Mata, he is possibly our most creative player and I think he will still add a lot to our team.
Really looking forward to seeing Zlatan play in the Premier League. How do you think he'll do?
I hopeful he'll score a shittonne of goals.
Looks like United Direct, the online megastore inadvertently announced Mkhitaryan's signature by putting shirts onsale with his name for about 5 minutes before they were spotted and the entire store pulled offline
Hopefully Zlatlan will be too old to be a sucess with United!
Crystal Palace make a £25m bid for Christian Benteke.
Townsend to Crystal Palace for £12m
Nolito to Man City for £13.8m
Manadana to Crystal Palace
Palace look to be buying some good players, at least they're targeting the right sort. Mind you, the same was said about Newcastle last year and Hull the year before!
Micky Ryan looks to be set to Man Utd now with a bid accepted.
Who's Micky Ryan?
I see a Chinese club put a 38m bid in for Ighalo!
Lol sorry
Mkhitaryan looks like a done deal. Been heavily rumoured that Dortmund were finally run down early last week and agreed to let him go.
Same can't be said of Renato Sanchez - LVG lost yous that boy - looks an outstanding talent
I didn't even know that Man Utd were after Renato Sanches, to be fair I'd never heard of him before Euro 2016. A real shame that we couldn't sign him.
Looks like Lee Tomlin is a done deal
Tomkins moves to Crystal Palace from West Ham for £10m.
Lee Tomlin has signed for Bristol City from Bournemouth for a club record fee of around £3m.
Henrik Mkhitaryan to Man Utd is official
Valdes looking probable to move to Middlesbrough.
Liverpool have accepted a £15 million from Bournemouth for Jordon Ibe. I know it's silly to make comparisons but if he is worth that, how much for Joe Allen (in his last year of his contract)?
Ibe is going to go for more than Allen because he's English and young. Not that I agree with that but that's the way it works.
Victor Valdes has signed for Middlesbrough.
Pogba to United for 100m??
I'm in two minds about wanting Pogba back tbh. Part of me thinks f*** yeah and then part of me thinks well what's the point of the two Sch's who are both excellent when not being stifled by LVG
If Pogba does go for £100m then he better hit the ground running, as otherwise, the piss taking is going to be way too much Get rid of a player, then buy him back for £100m..
Personally, I think Pogba is Real Madrid bound. Man Utd are being used yet again, and are falling for it hook line and sinker. Guess we'll see though. Think a lot of it will depend on if Real Madrid sell Morata.
Yeah I'm 90% sure Pogba will go to Madrid, we don't want to be shelling out quite that much for a player we let go of for next to nothing.
£100 million !!
Pelle leaving Southampton for Shandong Lueng for £13m.
Papiss Cisse becomes the next player to sign for Shandong Lueng in China.
Rumour is Real aren't happy to pay quite that much for him. No idea why we are given how much Glazer related debt the club has
£100m for Pogba is ridiculous. Only Messi and Ronaldo are worth that insane amount of money.
Chelsea apparently in for Kante
Jordan Ibe has left Liverpool to join Bournmouth on a four year contract
I like him a lot and am disappointed he has left but happy to see he has a buy back clause etc!
Could be that Chelsea buy Kante for £28m possibly. Why would he want to leave when there is Champions League football this season?
Watford have signed Napoli's Juan Camilo Zuniga on a season-long loan.
Confirmed that Kante has moved to Chelsea for £30m for his words 'the biggest club in Europe' who lost to Rapid Vienna 2-0 with Terry, Matic, Willan, and Ivanovic not forgetting Mr Costa.
Greed from Kante there who so easily have been playing in the Champions League this season instead he'll be watching on the telly.
Good for his long term career prospects. May only have to wait a year until he gets to play in the Champions League. No brainer really.
There's no way that move was motivated by anything other than money.
Chelsea aren't even the biggest club in London.
At least it's still Europe! We'd have no chance of landing them without Mourinho, that's the real draw this year for us. Plus the fact that we're Manchester United helps.
I totally get it, I'd do exactly the same. There's f*** all I wouldn't do for £300k a week!!!
This is a sign that the miracle of last season wont happen again this time for Leicester which is quite sad tbh. Would rather a team like them win it again if Man Utd fail to do so.
Middlesbrough have signed Negredo on a season-long loan from Valencia.
Liverpool agree a £25m deal with Newcastle for Wijnaldum.
So it looks like the Pogba deal might be back on then! I'm still choosing to remain relatively quiet on the whole affair. If we sign him great but the pressure of that price tag will be ridiculous so I'm not counting any chickens yet...
Yeah I'm not thrilled we're going to drop £100m and I honesty don't think he's worth anywhere near that.
Supposedly Jose has 2 other targets for that same position so I actually wouldn't care if it fell through. I suspect part of the reason they're pushing so hard is that it's be a big signing and after the last three years Woodward is under a lot of pressure to prove he's capable.
As it stands were 75% done our essential business 6 weeks from deadline day which is a remarkable improvement.
Stoke City have signed Joe Allen from Liverpool for £13m.
My dad is thrilled. He can't stand Joe Allen
I think he's a brilliant player. He was really unlucky with injuries. He definitely didn't score enough, but I don't know many players who can turn on the ball as well as he can in the Premier League. He's not fast/strong/tall enough to be in the way Klopp wants his midfield to be. He will do well at Stoke hopefully.
Too small, not strong enough and doesn't score enough goals. Unfortunately for him, that means he was never really going to work in a Klopp midfield
With all these sales, we could end up making a profit this window
Benteke still to go and probably only a LB to come in
Higuian going from Napoli to Juventus.
Milik going from Ajax to Napoli.
The Pogba money sure is bouncing around
Higuaín to Juve for over £75. Ridiculous money for a 28 year old, can only mean Pogba must be off then now, agent holding everything up.
I feel the Italian league is going the way of the German & French leagues will only 1 team in the title race every year (well it's been heading that way for a few years now really) - shame really.
Yep I know, it's gotten to the point now where I wouldn't be that disappointed if nothing happened. Of course it'd be a great signing & the type of player we most definitely need but the money & the nature of the transfer just points in the direction of a huge underachievement...
How much are Man Utd bidding for Pogba now? he's a good player but he's not worth the crazy amount of money that people have been mentioning.
Man City in talks with Everton over John Stones for possibly £50m.
Barely worth £20m.
Which is the most overpaid for a player that a team has signed for?
Gomis has moved to Marseille from Swansea on a season-long loan.
Leroy Sane looking set to move to Manchester City for £37m from Schalke.
Good signing for them. Guessing this means Sterling will be spending some considerable time on the bench.
Man City sign Gabriel Jesus for £27m from Palmaras who will stay there until December.
Aston Villa have signed Ross McCormack from Fulham for £12m.
Probable signings today:
Sakho to West Brom for £16m from West Ham
Marlos Moreno from Atletico National (Colombia) to Man City for £4.75m who will then join Deportivo on loan.
West Ham have agreed a fee of £20m to sign Andre Ayew from Swansea City.
United have finally spoken on the worst kept secret of 2016 confirming Pogba is having a medical and using the hashtag #Pogback
I do sort of want to burn down OT at that hashtag like but at least this saga is finally coming to an end and FINALLY we make a marque signing which can only be good for Woodward and the club's status. Though I'm still not entirely convinced he's worth the insane about of € we're paying, we do need a player just like him in the midfield.
#Pogback Very expensive..
Good signing for them, but for me, I don't think it's that great a signing. Good midfielder, but I find him to be way way too inconsistent. I think he will flourish eventually (and Real Madrid will swoop him in in 2/3 seasons time.. you can quote me!) but there's going to be so much pressure on him to begin with.
West Ham are conducting the mist bizzare transfers ever. Guess that's what happens when your owner gobs off to the media constantly!
Looks like £89m for Pogba.
80m for Ronaldo and he was basically the finished article and one of the greats of the modern era - Pogba has a lot to live up to. If he does well and wins yous the league then the fans will believe he's worth it!
West Ham have signed Andre Ayew from Swansea. Think the fee is around 20 million.
I'm surprised Jordan Ayew hasn't left Aston Villa yet. It was him who I would have thought would join a new club this summer rather than his brother.
Paul Pogba confirmed for £89m. At half twelve in the morning. Via a video clip on the official Twitter account.
Some crazy time to be alive. Got to hit those prime time American/Asian markets.
Also may I just add...
PAUL FUCKING POGBA!!!!!
Manchester City have signed John Stones from Everton for £47.5m, making him the second most expensive defender in history.
Also Swansea have just accepted a £12m bid from Everton for Ashley Williams.
Could it be the last of the big-money signings with Stones in the transfer window? I think not.
Lol and the City fans have the cheek to say we're over paying. Sure Jan.
I'm still waiting to see what's so special about Stones
Wow I didn't see the John Stones transfer coming, Chelsea must be pissed!
John Stones reminds me of an early Rio Ferdinand (the West Ham version, not the one who matured at Leeds and Man United).
Paul Pogba's first interview back at Manchester United, hopefully he will be worth every penny of that massive transfer fee!
So how much have untied lost here trying to buy him back overall?
So £87.5m
Although if he'd stayed he might not be the player he is today.
Barnsley have made £7m in the Stones deal!! Quite canny by them to include a sell on fee, that's probably two years worth of revenues for them
20% of Everton's profit. Pretty standard with younger players I think.
Still think Stones is probably worth half a Pogba, particularly under Guardiola. Mangala may be out of the door after being left out of the squad for the Champions League playoff - with Kompany, Otamendi, Stones, Denayer and the youngsters they should have enough cover without him and they'll make at least half their money back in this market.
What a complete waste of money Mangala was. I agree though, I really like Stones. In the right set up he could be awesome, he's so comfortable with the balk at his feet and bringing it in to play from the back. The problem is his defending is average. Unlike at Everton though, if when he makes a mistake, I don't think he will be thrown to the cleaners as much.
I'm really interested to see about Pogba now. If he is played as a #10 I think he will be awesome, but from what I think, he will be played in a midfield 2. Now I've only seen France and some Juve games, but he's average at best in that position. It completely mitigates his strengths.
It depends how long Jose humours Rooney who really should be sent to the glue factory. He's not consistent or fast enough to have a spot in the starting XI over Pogba or Mkhitaryan or Mata.
Sunderland have bought McNair and Love from United for £5.5m. Moyes already sinking them with overpaying for shit then 😂😂😂
Few more should be on their way out. Hopefully Fellaini is one of them
McNair is decent and can play in multiple positions. Good rotation option.
Pogba plays best in a 4-3-3, which would also suit most of United's front players bar Rooney and Mata.
Jonathan Calleri has joined West Ham on a season-long loan.
Liverpool have rejected a offer of £30m from Crystal Palace for Benteke.
What's happened to Benteke? he was one of the best strikers in the prem a few years ago but ever since joining Liverpool he has been flopping.
Joe Hart is said to be considering a loan move from speculation about his future in the last few days. Could it be Everton or Sevilla?
Joe Hart at Everton would be the funniest thing I've seen since Gerrard's slip. With all due respect he has been milling about idly for about three years now.
Potentially £32m for Benteke
Confirmed that Benteke will sign for £32m to Crystal Palace easily breaking their transfer record.
That move really is something. In terms of todays market it's likely he's probably not short of that valuation but still. Crystal Palace.
Sunderland have signed Steven Pienaar on a one year deal.
David Moyes is bit by bit turning Sunderland into a fusion of pre 2013 Everton and late 2013 Manchester United.
He's picking off the scraps that nobody else wants. If Defoe's goals dry up this season they've had it.
United has sold Blackett to Reading and loaned Borthwick-Jackson to Wolves.
Rumour is that Jones is wanted by Stoke on Loan. I will pay them ALL THE MONEY to take him permanently.
Blackett is a good move. Anyone who's followed his development with us couldn't possibly make a case for him to stay. CBJ had a few moments last year so will be interested to see how that one pans out in terms of him returning to us. Phil Jones and Rojo both need to go ideally but we'll be left criminally low on defenders if the Fonte deal doesn't get over the line.
I must say though, and I thought the same when Bruce was sniffing round at Hull, a loan deal for a 24 year old with the injury record of a fucking gingerbread man is a strange one for us. Can't be much interest in the lad if we're resorting to that.
Yeah but to be fair Jones and Rojo are so useless that if we start running low we'd be better switching to three at the back or dropping Carrick in or dragging up Axel from the u23's that resorting to either of them.
A loan would at least give him a chance to show he's not entirely useless. You're right though, he's insanely fragile especially for a 24 yr old.
Axel came out with a horror for the first goal v Southampton for the U23s tonight. On paper it sounds nice but he's still a long way from ready to fit in a potential championship winning side.
I guess maybe I'm a bit cynical when it comes to Jones. If he has a successful spell then it could be good for Hull/Stoke/whoever and Jones himself, just can't see it benefitting us. Then again I've had my mind made up for the past two years that he's never going to make it at United.
I've spent the past two years hurling abuse at him whenever his name even appears on screen, even just to say he's injured again! I'm right there with you.
MEN's Man U reporter was full of glowing praise for Axel tonight, although he does have questionable judgement. The other day he claimed that United Fans would be embarrassed by the fact they deservedly booed Felliani after the Community Shield
Samuel Luckhurst? Sadly I'm serving what seems to be a lifetime blocking on Twitter from him
That's the one! I can't decide if I like him coz I get the latest United goss ahead of the transfer window shutting or if I hate him because otherwise he's full of shit
What did you do to get blocked?!
He's an absolute weapon. It involved me questioning his unwavering anti-Rooney policy iirk. I'm also blocked by the RoM account too but that wasn't a big loss. I just don't seem to MIX WELL with 'top reds'.
In a surprising twist of fate Duncan Castles is probably your go-to man for United transfer updates now. He's Mourinho's main media outlet so the bulk of breaking news trickles down through his account first and most of what he reports at least has a shred of something to it.
Probable rumours of Phil Jones possibly moving to either Arsenal or Stoke City.
And Bony moving to West Ham United.
He's probably in it for a six month loan to get a few goals and crank up his wages for a move to China in January. Would be a very useful signing but Zaza interests me more, penalty antics aside.
Watford have signed Daryl Janmaat from Newcastle United for £7m.
Zaza would, he's a better player. But in terms of what's left on the market now and the shift he'd put in for you, you don't really need to look much further. He'd be an excellent acquisition (albeit the question mark hanging over how long he'd stay). I don't think any of us will live to see Andy Carroll have a full season fit again.
Could tonight have been the last match in an Man City shirt for Joe Hart?
Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez look certain to move to Arsenal.
Arsene's dealings in the window are always a personal delight to behold.
In brief from yesterday:
Chadli to West Brom for £11m
Boufal to Southampton for £16m
Okaka to Watford for an undisclosed fee.
Joe Hart looks set to have an medical at Torino.
Jack Wilshere up for loan if anyone fancies a 5 ft 3, injury prone pitbull.
Jonathan Kodjia has signed for Aston Villa from Bristol City for £11m upfront, potentially rising to £15m.
Sad to see him leave but that sort of money is hard to turn down. Of course I would have preferred he signed for a Premiership club rather than a Championship club.
I can see Wilshere possibly going to either Palace or Bournemouth.
Loan move to Torino is done for Joe Hart.
So far:
Wilshere moves to Bournemouth on loan
Luiz returns to Chelsea
Bony moves to Stoke on loan
Chelsea confirm £23 million signing of Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina
Luiz to Chelsea is a proper head scratcher.
If you had told me 4-5 years ago that Jack Wilshere would move to Bournemouth on loan...
Confirmed that Wilshere has moved to Bournemouth.
Sideshow Bob has returned to Chelsea , I never would have guessed that he would return to Stamford Bridge one day!
Everton looks like they've won the race to sign Sissoko for a purposed club-record of £30m from Newcastle United
Nice have signed Mario Balotelli on a free transfer
Looks as though Chelsea will be the real winners of Deadline Day. Looking forward to see what deals go through in the next few hours, though.
Tottenham and Everton now for Sissoko. The final hour.
Looking more likely that Sissoko will move to Tottenham for £30m.
Sissoko isn't worth 30 million. No way.
Jack Wilshere will be an interesting test for Eddie Howe. If he can get Wilshere playing as well as we know he can play, that can only enhance his long-term prospects for the England job.
That's it until January. Over a billion has been spent in the Premier League, it will only get higher next year.
It is an intriguing move for Wilshere to Bournemouth which will be interesting to see.
Sissoko is definitely not worth £30m at all but this because of the money from television deals with BT & Sky.
Slimani to Leicester City for £25.5m.
You know it's deadline day when all of the presenters on Sky Sports News wear yellow
That's a ludicrous price for Sissoko, had 180 mins of good football at the Euros but was borderline anomymous for the entirety of last season...
And don't even get me started on Luiz
Some absolutely bizarre deadline day moves. I must admit £30m for Sissoko is crazy. On his day he is brilliant, but he plays when he wants to play, so it's strange that Spurs have paid the money they have done and entirely done away with their transfer strategy. I can only assume they panicked and thought the squad wasn't big enough to compete on 4 fronts.
Some of the deals completed towards the end of the window make some of the earlier deals look like absolute bargins!
