He's always said everything moves for TT, but who knows. It's very odd

As one not following the new stuff at all, methinks it'll eventually go somewhere in the top 10....

Physical sales must have been very good It's also helped that each bundle counts as 2 sales.
They are now down to #19 on iTunes though with seemingly nothing coming up promotion wise that will stabilize them from free falling |

That's good midweeks however they are always front heavy and then free fall so unless they steady or release the music video/perform on a show they will fall. The frustrating thing is if they promoted now they could go higher.

The opening mid weeks is great but at this point of the week it is falling everywhere. I do hope the sales achieved so far through the cd single and itunes etc. combined with the streaming they have achieved will be enough to secure a top 20 position. I do sadly believe there is a chance this will chart lower than Cry which is a disaster for a lead single. The complete lack of promotion is frustrating. If the lead single performs like this the follow ups will be lucky to reach the top 200.

If this performs poorly and they are not promoting it then I can't see the follow ups doing anything. |

Massive potential here too, given it's #4.
Even if they perform it next week on LIS, it'll probably rebound for a day into the lower top 10. They need to deploy everything in the first week if they are going to chart well |

I do sadly believe there is a chance this will chart lower than Cry which is a disaster for a lead single. It's already sold enough copies so far to remain Top 20 on Friday, so there's no need to worry about that! I imagine the worst it'll do is end up entering in the 11-15 area. If they don't have any strong promo lined up though, it'll inevitably free-fall in week 2, and that'll be hard for it to recover from. Ideally it needs to be added to the Hot Hits UK Spotify playlist too. |

Either way of where it charts this week it will most likely plummet out of the top 40 next week. Do we know how well its getting radio plays?

I actually don't care if it plummets - Id rather have a 12-43-62-51-58-70-74 type chart run than a 63-66-72. At worst with the sales they have already clocked up it will be a Top 15 hit this week.

BBC R2 only gave it 6 plays this week - no wonder almost nobody knows about the song. Heart gave it the most spins, but there's no other major station playing it It would have been great if it had been playlisted by Capital. http://comparemyradio.com/tracks/Take_That/Giants |

Quite surpised by the lack of plays |

Hopefully radio plays will improve going forward.
When Id Wait for Life charted at number 17 as a third single i felt it flopped. Comparing to performances of singles now it would seem like a big hit |

Just to give you guys an update on where Giants might chart, it's currently #5 in Tuesday's midweeks having sold just over 1k yesterday. If it sold the same for the rest of the week, it would end up at #11, and is likely to be a bit lower considering there's missing streaming data too. As of right now I think top 15 is still achievable but top 10 is out of the question I'm afraid! |

162 radio plays so far A few more spins from R2 and Heart seem to be on board now but no big stations are backing it - Capitial seem to love 'pop' so was expecting early support from them!

Top 15 is looking more likely now, possible safe top 15 which i can accept. Top 10 would have been wonderful but its not going to happen now.

What's frustrating is that with physicals and a performance on LIS, they could have easily consolidated top 10, perhaps even top 5.
Top 15 isn't too bad though, considering it plummeting down iTunes This post has been edited by jay727: 21st February 2017, 08:34 PM |

A top 10 was extremely achievable if it got promotion behind it. Sadly, its for this reason it will result in a much lower peak position.
