Chart Analysis

This week belongs to one group in particular, and with Above & Beyond releasing their new album 'Common Ground', an album very much hyped by myself, they dominate this week's charts. Taking a massive leap to #1 this week then is 'My Own Hymn', which amazingly does so on its 20th week in the chart. The former record for longest climb to #1 was done by Martin Garrix with 'Animals', which topped the chart on its 13th week. The chart was only a top 50 then, but this is 'My Own Hymn's 18th week in the top 50 so smashes that record too. It previously peaked at #14 when initially released as a single.

Following in its footsteps is 'Northern Soul' which completes an A&B top 2, climbing from #17 to #2. They also have this week's biggest climb in the chart, with 'Always' jumping 64-6 after being released last week. Likewise, 'Tightrope' climbs 69-12. Brand new entries for them this week come from album tracks 'Alright Now' (#11), 'Naked' (#13), 'Happiness Amplified' (#15), 'Sahara Love' (#24), 'Bittersweet & Blue' (#26), 'Is It Love? (1001)' (#27) and 'Cold Feet' (#29), so basically the whole album (minus the intro and outro tracks, which enter lower down the top 100 alongside a few non-album singles).

Enough on A&B now, and back in the top 10 last week's #1 'Sky Is Falling' slips to #3 to make way for them. Still ahead of 'Lonely Together', now down to #4, and 'Wavey' at #5. Stonebank continues to climb with other single 'Ripped To Pieces', up now to #23. And we get another brand new entry in the top 40, despite the A&B takeover Camila Cabello's future single 'She Loves Control' enters at #37, replacing 'Never Be The Same' which fell out last week and is now down to #52.

Outside the top 40 a whole load of A&B songs enter, as well as 'Tip Toe' re-entering for Jason Derulo at #74, Bruno Mars finally entering with 'Finesse' at #87 and also a re-entry for Sofi Tukker 'Energia' at #99.
