As King of Shadow, I am ecstatic at the chance to enter this world renowned song contest. Although we are relatively small in population, there are just 20,000 shadowans in the Kingdom of Shadow, we are proud of our musical tastes and jump at the oppertunity to share them as well as experience other nations' preferences. Shadow has a strong reputation in motorsport which allows us to show our competitive streak, as such we insist we are not simply in the competition to make up numbers but are here to win teh chance of hosting the Song Contest in the near future!

Feel free to come visit us, our people are quite friendly and make exceedingly good cakes happy.gif

V The Tears - Lovers

VI Chicane ft Tom Jones - Stoned In Love

VII Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer

Cheers for the welcome, here's hoping us newbies will be able to do the business on the night.

The Shadowan entry has been decided but in the interests of competition shall not be revealed just yet!

The Proud Kingdom of Shadow are ecstatic to announce that they have found their song for the fifth BuzzJack Song Contest!

This band have strong family links with the King of Shadow and so it is believed they shall be able to best represent the nation's musical taste better than anyone.

The band members have had massive chart success and yet have remained true to their Britpop roots, a genre which they are actually noted as to have created.

Bernard Butler and Brett Anderson, former members of the massively successful 'Suede', formed this band in 2004 and have gone on to achieve further critical acclaim.

The song chosen is the second release from their 2005 album 'Here Come The Tears' and so, with no more delay, I urge you to turn up the volume as I give you THE TEARS with LOVERS!

I would once again just like to say thank you everyone who gave points to The Tears in the semi-final and so allowed the Kingdom of Shadow to go through into the finals on Sunday! It really means a lot and I think it's cool to know others enjoy the same style of music as we Shadowans. THANKS!

The Kingdom of Shadow Confirm Participation

After what the King of Shadow described as a successful first competition in BJSC 5, the Kingdom of Shadow have confirmed they would like to take part in BJSC 6. The song has not yet been chosen due to the country's recent two week long Bank Holiday in which the majority of the population left the country however, some artists which are known to be interested are:

Santagold - L E S Artistes

Chicane ft Tom Jones - Stoned In Love

The Wombats - Backfire at the Disco

All Saints - Rock Steady

Leona Lewis - Run (Snow Patrol cover)

Then again it may be a completely different song - the Shadowan people are yet to decide!

I've only heard the last three (I've heard of them all) , out of those I think the sublime cover of 'Run' is my favourite, but 'Rock Steady' or 'LES Artistes' might do best as I think those songs are popular among this forum.

I wouldn't go for Leona and that Wombats song is weak in comparison to Joy Division or Moving To New York

All Saints and Chicane might do quite well, not heard the Santogold song

L E S Artistes is a legendary song heart.gif Rock Steady and Leona are too popular and well-known on this forum - people might avoid voting for them because of that; Stoned In Love might suffer a little from that but I reckon it would be a good choice. The Wombats wouldn't really pick up too many votes...I reckon your best chances are either L E S Artistes or Stoned In Love.

Cheers for the replies guys, it's great to see what others think before confirming our entry. I'd pretty much made my mind up immediately after posting that message which song we would send!

The King of Shadow today reveiled that Tom Jones shall be representing his nation in the sixth BuzzJack Song Contest. Originally from Wales, Jones has spent much time in the Shadowan nation and is a well-known figure among the population. This 2006 song by Chicane and featuring Jones on vocals was a smash hit in the country and has been the most played song on Shadowan Radio two years running. The King admitted there were reservations over sending such a well-known artist into the competition; "The BJSC has always been a good ground to present new artists to the world stage however, with May's competition looking to be so heavily influenced by pre-released dance songs I thought it a perfect oppertunity to show the Shadowan people's musical tastes".

Yeh this should be good to see who comes out on top. we may have to get through the semi-final (if we have one though) before we can have a fair fight.

Chicane with the help of Tom Jones took the Kingdom of Shadow to a brilliant 11th place in the sixth BuzzJack Song Contest on Sunday, the dance duet got a double dose of douze points to give the small Shadowan nation their best result to date. The King of Shadow had this to say "Sir Tom did a brilliant job for us and we are massively greatful that such a great artist would wish to perform for us, we'd also like to thank all the nations who gave us points, it was a brilliant night".

Attention is now being drawn towards the seventh BuzzJack Song Contest to be held in Quotosibb; "We're really looking forward to the next competition, our third, to be held in Quotosibb after Beverley Knight won BJSC 6 in brilliant style. We've got a lot of artists in consideration to represent KoS, ideally we would like to choose a less well-known artisit this time out."

A document was leaked yesterday in the Shadowan press (which is strange considering the Kingdom has a state controlled press) which appeared to list some of the artists being spoken to about a possible BuzzJack entry:

For those of you who cannot read Shadowan English (I expect the majority of you tongue.gif ) we have translated the letter below:
"BuzzJack Song Contest 7
Keane - The Happy Soldier
Cherry Ghost - People Help the People
Guillemots - Trains to Brazil
Santogold - L.E.S Artistes
Santogold - Lights Up
Private - One in a Million*
Regina Spektor - Fidelity
The Pipettes - Judy*
The Pipettes - Pull Shapes
The Pipettes - Dirty Mind"
