Well here we are - the final results will be beginning from 8pm (ish). Who will be victorious?
Before we begin, this is the methodology for the results. I've divided the points each song received by the total voters in each respective round, and worked out the average for every artist's entries. This is to allow for each round to be weighted the same, despite differing participant numbers! |

16 | 0.25 Greyson Chance Best performer: Unfriend You (Round 7) Worst performer: Dancing Next to Me (Round 12) Of course, nobody is remotely shocked about Greyson coming last - least of all me! My aim when selecting Greyson for this contest was for discoveries to be made - I truly had no expectations of success. However, you guys have taken Greyson into your hearts. I'm pleased with the response you guys have given him, especially to his earlier material from the Hold On 'Til the Night album, which I expected to go down like a lead balloon! Unfriend You being his top track is totally shocking (as is Dancing Next to Me being his worst performer, but that's probably more of an indicator of the strong round itself). I hope you've all made a discovery here - even just one Greyson song to take away, because that's what makes this gamble worthwhile for me Round 1: 16th, 7 votes out of 40 - shut up Round 2: 11th (tied), 12 votes out of 32 - More than Me Round 3: 15th, 8 votes out of 39 - Oceans (with tyDi & Jack Novak) Round 4: 16th, 5 votes out of 30 - Good as Gold Round 5: 13th (tied), 8 votes out of 25 - Summertrain Round 6: 16th, 6 votes out of 28 - Afterlife Round 7: 13th (tied), 10 votes out of 25 - Unfriend You Round 8: 12th (tied), 11 votes out of 28 - Back on the Wall Round 9: 16th, 5 votes out of 25 - Waiting Outside the Lines Round 10: 14th (tied), 6 votes out of 28 - yours Round 11: 15th, 6 votes out of 23 - black on black Round 12: 16th, 3 votes out of 38 - Dancing Next to Me |

Greyson (Not A) Chance
In all honesty though, I was shocked to find I only HATED one of these entries. All the rest were actually rather pleasant and stuff I could see me going back to, if I remember he exists I really need to put a quick playlist together of my favourite discoveries tbh. |

15 | 0.36 Maren Morris Best performer: Dear Hate (Round 9) Worst performer: I Could Use a Love Song (Round 4) And following on from Greyson, ofc nobody is remotely shocked about Maren coming 2nd last! At least she was quite a bit more ahead of last place than I was originally expecting Like Joseph, my aim for sending Maren was for discoveries to be made. I really wanted to send one of my country female faves and I settled with Maren over Kelsea/Miranda/Carrie (I'd love someone to send the latter if this was run again!) and I've been really glad with the response to Maren despite her coming 2nd last aha!! It's incredible seeing how well Dear Hate performed and how so many of you made a discovery there, it's such a gorgeous and relevant song and is one of the highlights of her discography so that over performance was amazing I was shocked that was her best performer considering it wasn't even a single or one of the major fan faves! It's been interesting seeing how everything did and even though a couple of songs under-performed more than I was expecting, I'm glad some people made discoveries from them! Maren is one of the freshest voices in country and seems set to continue to soar to new heights after The Bones' incredible success in the US this year and I really hope y'all made a discovery here and will be interested in checking out future material from Maren! (commentary by Ultra) Round 1: 15th, 12 votes out of 40 - 80s Mercedes Round 2: 11th (tied), 12 votes out of 32 - Company You Keep Round 3: 14th, 13 votes out of 39 - Seeing Blind (with Niall Horan) Round 4: 15th, 6 votes out of 30 - I Could Use a Love Song Round 5: 13th (tied), 8 votes out of 25 - The Feels Round 6: 14th (tied), 9 votes out of 28 - My Church Round 7: 15th, 9 votes out of 25 - Drunk Girls Don't Cry Round 8: 15th (tied), 8 votes out of 28 - Rich Round 9: 5th, 15 votes out of 25 - Dear Hate (feat. Vince Gill) Round 10: 10th, 12 votes out of 28 - The Bones Round 11: 13th (tied), 8 votes out of 23 - Common (feat. Brandi Carlisle) Round 12: 9th (tied), 18 votes out of 38 - The Middle (with Zedd & Grey) |

Maren deserved so, SO much more. Especially 'My Church'. The way y'all did that dirty... DISGUSTING TBH.
Dear Hate prevailing and giving her her only top 5 hit! I actually think the Maren choices were perfect! |

14 | 0.40 Hailee Steinfeld Best performer: Love Myself (Round 6) Worst performer: Most Girls (Round 10) And occupying two of the bottom 3 is none other than... myself with my acts I was hoping that Hailee could sneak out 12th/13th in this competition but at least she wasn't too far off, I'm a lil bit gutted she came bottom 3 Once again as with Maren, I treated this more as a discovery idol rather than sending my big faves without artist forums that most people know their discographies. However if I knew we were gonna end up doing as many as 12 rounds (with more album track rounds being added), I may have sent someone who'd actually released an album Hailee has been the underrated pop queen for the past few years (tho her spotify numbers are highkey incredible considering Starving is her only song with good peaks), released jam after jam and EP's whilst promising albums that we're still waiting for 84 years later. I've been glad with the response to Hailee too and some people discovering some pop gems, as well as her stans turning out in full force every round <3 Unlike Maren, to no surprise Hailee's best performer was Love Myself, her debut single that still absolutely stomps and is just pure pop perfection. I can't believe that came out over 5 years ago?!?! Most of the songs performed like I expected for Hailee, with big hits like Starving & Let Me Go amongst her highest hitters and the album tracks I love but I knew were gonna bomb like You're Such A & Your Name Hurts, well bombing. I did lowkey hope the CHIC collab would perform better than it did and branch out to more voters but at least some people that didn't vote for Hailee much through this enjoyed that one! My only regret in AF Idol was sending Most Girls over Woke Up Late, ik I had a gut feeling the former would highly under-perform and the latter could've been a good discovery and pulled in some more voters argh, lemme go with my gut in future & not do a poll x. Anyway I hope some of y'all made some discoveries and Hailee is one of the best new pop stars (and actresses, y'all better watch The Edge of Seventeen, Bumblebee & True Grit if you ain't already) around and I'm ready for her to continue to slay as we await new material, the 2nd half of Half Written Story is meant to be out next month I believe so hopefully more of y'all will check that out! In the meantime check out some Hailee songs I didn't send like Rock Bottom, Flashlight, Woke Up Late and... well that's covered all the ones we care about that weren't sent in AF idol x (commentary by Ultra) Round 1: 6th (tied), 22 votes out of 40 - Capital Letters (with BloodPop®) Round 2: 14th, 10 votes out of 32 - Hell Nos and Headphones Round 3: 12th, 17 votes out of 39 - Let Me Go (with Alesso feat. Florida Georgia Line & watt) Round 4: 12th (tied), 10 votes out of 30 - Back to Life Round 5: 13th (tied), 8 votes out of 25 - You're Such A Round 6: 3rd (tied), 18 votes out of 28 - Love Myself Round 7: 6th (tied), 13 votes out of 25 - Colour (with MNEK) Round 8: 9th (tied), 13 votes out of 28 - I Love You's Round 9: 15th, 6 votes out of 25 - Your Name Hurts Round 10: 14th (tied), 6 votes out of 28 - Most Girls Round 11: 13th (tied), 8 votes out of 23 - Dance with Me (with Nile Rodgers & Chic) Round 12: 11th, 17 votes out of 38 - Starving (with Grey feat. Zedd) |

Sam really made the most of Hailee I think, especially with such a limited discography! I'm pleased her best 2 songs got sent (Starving and Most Girls) *.*

Also worth mentioning - the bottom 2 are the only 2 artists not to have received a medal position at some point!

Lee's not around but I'm sure he'll have lots to say about Pixie upon his return!!
Pixie's got one of the more varied sets of results, which makes sense. Use Somebody rightfully her lowest but it's been brilliant fun reliving her hits! And Broken Arrow getting its moment |

Hailee
I didn't vote for her as much as I thought I would, but she still got in my scoring a nice amount! Sam definitely made the most of an incredibly small discography. If only you'd sent 'Rock Bottom' and 'Flashlight' tbh --- Baby being the smash it deserves to be, somewhere! |

12 | 0.45 Kim Petras Best performer: Close Your Eyes (Round 5) Worst performer: 1, 2, 3 Dayz Up (Round 8) Though chart success hasn't yet arrived for Kim Petras, it's clear just how popular she is on Buzzjack because her results across the competition were consistently impressive! Kim's best result came with Close Your Eyes in round 5, where she achieved a silver medal. Lotti's showcased a variety of tracks and I'm thrilled to have made some really strong discoveries - I think I Don't Want It At All is my favourite of them all! Round 1: 12th (tied), 15 votes out of 40 - There Will Be Blood Round 2: 10th, 13 votes out of 32 - Everybody Dies Round 3: 10th (tied), 19 votes out of 39 - Unlock It (with Charli XCX feat. Jay Park) Round 4: 12th (tied), 10 votes out of 30 - Do Me Round 5: 2nd (tied), 18 votes out of 25 - Close Your Eyes Round 6: 7th (tied), 14 votes out of 28 - Icy Round 7: 10th (tied), 11 votes out of 25 - I Don't Want It All Round 8: 15th (tied), 8 votes out of 28 - 1,2,3 dayz up (feat. SOPHIE) Round 9: 10th, 12 votes out of 25 - Broken Round 10: 11th (tied), 10 votes out of 28 - Malibu Round 11: 8th (tied), 11 votes out of 23 - Personal Hell Round 12: 8th, 19 votes out of 38 - Heart to Break |

Also just want to say a huge thanks to Jay for compiling the individual results for each artist!
Really strong showing for Kim! My commentary likely not doing her justice but I'm hoping Lotti will be able to comment whenever she's available |

Kim didn't make my votes as much as I wanted/expected her too. There were a few that I fell in love with (and of course the song which gave me my BJSC win ) but I honestly expected to discover and score her more than I did. Just something very Charli XCX about her music to me. Not bad, just something that I struggle to get the hype with.
Some/mostly marvelous discoveries though! |
