In a series of rounds we're pitting the two most ***flawless singers against each other, starting with debut singles! Competing against each other are Beyoncé's 'Work It Out' and Rihanna's 'Pon De Replay'. Whatever song gets the most votes for favourite will get a point for their artist, and after all the rounds the artist with the most points will be crowned as your favourite out of our two singers. *.*

This first one is pretty easy for me, 'Work It Out' is just a weak song imo and while 'Pon De Reply' is nowhere near Rih's best, it's still a jam all these years on and by a long way the best thing to come out of her first era, not hard tbh :')

Pon De Replay! Still a bit of a bop whereas Work it Out is a bit meh.

'Pon De Replay' for sure! I have always found the instrumental of 'Work It Out' quite off-putting.

I think 'Work It Out' gets a bad rap. I do always enjoy it and love how funky it is.

'Pon De Replay' is still that tune though and is the clear winner.

What a landslide! I added another vote to Pon De Replay though, it has really stood the test of time for me. Still sounds fresh when I put it on and has remained an utter dance floor banger, probably not even in her top 20 tracks for me though really.

I find Work It Out kind of annoying though, a mixture of the funky instrumental and link to Austin Powers has always made the song just feel kind of stupid to me and she's capable of SO much more. Not the best single to kick-off her career, especially considering she had Crazy in Love tucked up her sleeve!

I always forget it's her first single tbh, I almost put 'Crazy In Love' in the poll then remembered this laugh.gif

Round two is now live in the Rih forum!

Yes, 'Pon de Replay' for me too. 'Work It Out' is pretty funky but, maybe its the Austin Powers association, I've always found it sounds too much of a parody and the way she sings "blow your horn now" is annoying, even if slightly catchy at the same time.

'Pon de Replay' is a jam and a half. Even though she was so young at the time and she's had several peaks since, it still feels very much like a Rihanna classic and I feel like it could still work so well if released at any point in her career.
