BuzzJack Music Forum _ Television _ US TV Ratings w/b 01/02

Posted by: Rooney 2nd February 2015, 07:51 PM

NBC Super Bowl (7-10PM) - Live 35.0/71 102.3

NBC Super Bowl/ Post Game - Live 26.1/58 72.9

NBC The Blacklist 11.2/30 31.4

Only included the Superbowl & The Blacklist. Really impressive figures - up on last year, and The Blacklist is likely to be adjusted up.

No surprise the ratings are higher though, as it was a much closer Superbowl this year.

11.2 is great, be interesting to see if it keeps any of the audience post-bowl though. So many shows recently seem to have had no benefit from the post-bowl slot.

Apparently the whole of West Coat, and Boston isn't included in the numbers either so it's likely to grow!

I think it will retain some of the audience, but not enough for long term growth. Be really interesting to see if it has much of an effect on Scandal.

I think Scandal will maybe take a hit in the first few weeks (though down to maybe a 2.8 or so) and stabilise again once The Blacklist drops back. If it manages what it was getting behind The Voice I think that can be considered a big success (so basically mid 2's).

Timezone adjusted numbers have The Blacklist at an 8.7 which feels disappointing, only better than Alias and Elementary in terms of recent lead-outs. Boston still yet to be factored in though.

I don't see it having much of an effect on Scandal now, ABC are winning that battle. Think Scandal could be around 3.2 this week, the cliffhanger that brought everyone to watch last week wasn't exactly resolved.

New Girl did have the benefit of only being half an hour long last year so its kind of on par with that too.

Empire is just an unreal beast.

Glee hit a series low 0.5 yesterday. How the mighty have fallen, I remember it hitting like a 6.0 in Season 2 with a regular episode.

Posted by: Silas 8th February 2015, 10:28 PM

Not surprised. It truly jumped the shark in season 3 and has been on a massive decline since then.

I kind of hope it gets beaten by Hart of Dixie at some point, or at least equals it.

Posted by: Martyn 8th February 2015, 11:37 PM

I hope Glee or something else I don't like manages to do worse than a 0.1. Would that be a 0.09?

Posted by: Conderella 9th February 2015, 06:41 AM

If Nikita/ANTM couldn't even reach 0.1 then I doubt Glee will fall even lower. sad.gif

Posted by: J▼hnkm 9th February 2015, 08:57 AM

There was an episode of Nikita that got a 0.055, which obv rounded up to a 0.1. But yeah it seems like it's probably a feat no show is likely to match anytime soon, least of all Glee. I'd say it's maybe reached its bottom already, though 0.4 might happen.
