Shook at how good Rita's O2 gig was last night. I was expecting a kind of re-hash of her Brixton show...like, cheapish theatre productions in an arena, but it was really full on.

Multiple huge screens, flying, props, set changes, fire, several outfit changes. Basically all the gimmicks that make it worth paying for an arena show. And she brought out Charli XCX, Liam Payne and...Sean Paul (they did Get Busy and Cheap Thrills lol).

She's such an underrated vocalist, she was pitch perfect even when she was spinning from the ceiling doing her best Pink impression.

The Brixton gig was a lot of fun but she belongs in an arena.

I'm in awe, honestly. She delivered and then some, for me. She belongs on that stage. Her setlist was near perfect (just one omission I'm upset about First Time High)

I also agree with Joe in regards to her vocals. I'm astounded and floored. We didn't get any special guests or flying though, but I expected not to.

Incredibly excited for my date on Wednesday going by the reviews in here! *.* Had a peek at the setlist too and it looks fantastic!

I'm assuming the setlist was near enough the same Jonjo, just without the special guests?

(beware setlist spoilers in this post)

I'm still getting over Friday's gig. I had VIP so I met Rita beforehand and she was so lovely, I got a big hug from her and a really cute photo wub.gif also got a really nice tote bag and notebook as VIP gifts! The girl in front of me who I made friends with asked Rita if Charli was there, to which Rita replied "Charli who?", trying to keep the surprise :') We also saw Liam Payne through a window eating his dinner before the show lol x

The show itself was everything I wanted and so much more. The special guests were great - SEAN ACTUAL PAUL !!!! Rita seemed to be loving every moment and it radiated into the crowd. The production, the vocals, the choreography, it was perfect. Setlist was incredible too - First Time High was a bit of an omission (the only standard Phoenix track to be snubbed sad.gif) but nothing felt particularly glaring. Love that she kept Body On Me in the setlist too, that one's always amazing live! wub.gif

I had no voice at the end x

Had such a fantastic time tonight - this really was an incredible show! wub.gif You could tell that she's very emotional about finally being able to play arenas, where she was born to be (this was a massive step up, in terms of just about everything, from the tour last year at the smaller venues).

I get why it was included, but the only song that stuck out like a sore thumb for the wrong reasons was Summer Love. It got next to no reaction from the crowd, and it just didn't do anything really? laugh.gif First Time High should have been in its place x
