It's Red Sky July's subtle and hauntingly gorgeous House Of Cards on top for the first time, though Ally McErlaine has been at 1 many times before as part of Texas. Just edging out the epic banging emotion of Emeli Sande, but it was a very close run thing. Frank Ocean and Beyonce are back in the top 10 with the unavailable (except on the album Blonde) Pink + White. It's lovely and needs to be a single. NOW Frank!

Highest new entry is the returning hitmaker The Weeknd, joined by the veteran 90's electronica band Daft Punk, not the first time in my chart for either by a long chalk, but any song called Starboy I'm going to love (in theory) as he's a super-hero (Star Boy) from the greatest super-hero team of all-time Legion Of Super-Heroes. A band of that name was a John Peel fave, and members Dream Girl, Brainiac 5, Wildfire have featured in song titles, while Karate Kid was nicked for a film, so watch out for Saturn Girl, White Witch, and Princess Projectra one day! Another Princess, Chelsea, make my top 20 along with 80's dance diva Billie Ray Martin, and Francis And The Lights have a mighty leap from 99 to 28 while also entering at 98 with a third track.

Mel C keeps the lone Spice Girls flag flying as she enters the 40, and KT Tunstall returns to the 40 after a hefty break. Kack Savoretti and Kings Of Leon are back after shorter breaks. Returning to the chart is Bruno Mars, carrying on from his funky Mark Ronson megahit, Robbie Williams has big climbs, and Crystal Waters is also back after a couple of decades or so. Relax!
